Extremely disappointed with our stay at Element Hotel in Bentonville. We specifically booked a room with two beds and a sofa bed because of the size of our group. When we arrived, the room did not include the sofa bed that was clearly part of the reservation. When we asked the front desk to correct the issue, we were simply told they were "sold out" and there was nothing they could do. To make matters worse, our friends staying at the same hotel actually had a room with a sofa bed and were willing to switch rooms with us, but the staff refused to allow it. Their solution was literally to "just book somewhere else." The customer service was terrible from start to finish. Reservations apparently are not accurate, and the staff made no real effort to help or rectify the situation. Very frustrating experience and not what you expect from a hotel at this price point. I would not stay here again. read more

Excellent service from all the staff and more. They have an espresso and cappuccino machine at the lobby for us coffee lovers. YES! Free bike use during your stay. Cheese and wine crackers served early evening, 7 days a week. Complimentary coffee, premium tea at the lobby 24/7, plus free breakfast. My room was nice. King bed with built in kitchenette includes plates, cups, and utensils. Premium towels and they offer bath robe to boot! They are also conveniently located next to Crackle Barrel. A low-amenity cheaper hotel which is fine for a home base while visiting the nearby Art Museum. The design is more minimalistic and modern and there is a nice front area, the breakfast was just ok but standard for a lower budget place. As a bad coincidence, the power to half the city went out overnight when we were staying there, including the hotel. We awoke to the hallways being completely dark and the key cards disabled, with very little warning or instruction about what to do; the elevators were not working and there was no emergency lighting to tell you where to go, and there were no staff directing anything. I found out to walk to the end of the hall and down the stairs, hotel staff seemed to not be proactive about saying what was going on and had little information, and there was minimal breakfast as a result. I know they were not at fault for the city outage but for safety and guest information someone could have done something more than the absolute minimal which was nothing at all. read more

I have been here for 8 days and the breakfast lady Elsa has been very nice to me and made great breakfast.

This is clearly the best family and business level hotel in Bentonville. it is quiet, clean and comfortable with an incredibly friendly staff and all the amenities you would expect for a much higher price. The bed and pillows are very comfortable and soft. The shower is strong with lots of hot water. Again, it is immaculately clean. It seems to have been built to compete with Airbnb's because there is a small kitchenette with a microwave, a toaster, coffee, and a decently sized refrigerator. The complementary breakfast is very well designed and the room it is served in is light and bright and very comfortable. This is a personal thing, but one of the issues in Bentonville is every hotel has deafingly loud air conditioning. There are mostly window units and we only found one other hotel that had a central air handler but it was loud too. The Element Bentonville has central air handler that is relatively quiet. It was so nice to get a clear night's sleep. We have stayed in most every hotel in Bentonville since we have family here and we keep searching for the one that we will come back to. Wr have finally found it and we will be back for sure. read more

Very nice hotel. The staff is friendly! Everything is very tidy and clean in the lobby and seating area. The complimentary breakfast is nice, not too much selection, but pretty good! The hotel room is very nice and large; unfortunately our room floor wasn't cleaned properly. There was a contact stuck to the floor in the kitchen and a clothing tag left on the floor in the bathroom. read more

My second time staying at this hotel. In some ways, it has gone a bit downhill and others it has improved. The staff is competent and exceptionally accommodating to somebody with lifetime titanium elite status. On the other hand, I was less than impressed with the fact that the desk in the room was way taller than the chair provided, and that the window curtains were both broken. They seem to improve the gym facilities each time I come, which is nice enough. It is true you get what you pay for, and this hotel kept it's rates the same even though the city is overrun with summer in terms for Walmart and Sam's Club my loyalty to Marriott means I'll stay here again but it's not worth five stars. read more

After less than one year and several stays at this Marriot Element hotel I wanted to update the review.  This hotel has been open almost a full year and I have been reluctant to write this update without giving it time.  I had hoped that things would improve and that after they worked out the new hotel kinks, things would improve.   After several stays, the cleanliness of the bathrooms in the hotel rooms have left something to be desired.  Over the past couple of visits and several different rooms the common issue in the bathrooms is mildew growing on the shower grout.  However, recently I arrived late after my delayed flight and the next morning I noticed a code violation that demonstrates that their local maintenance team is not qualified.  The maintenance team spliced a 110 volt power line to an outlet and had two wire nuts exposed next to the blinds.  A little jostling of the blinds and it can cause the wire nuts to loosen and potentially cause a fire (see my photo).   The baseboards and other areas seem to be wearing out quickly. I must also indicate that when I checked in, the attendant stated that breakfast would begin at 6:30 am.  I arrived in the breakfast area at 6:45am only to find yogurt, coffee, cereal and muffins out.  The "cook" arrived at about 7:00 am to begin offering cooked eggs.   I must question the justification of a $200 night stay and I don't think I will return to this property.   My updated review is rated a two because of the association with the Marriot chain. read more

I'm amazed that this hotel has such high reviews. I'm assuming they must room everyone on the opposite side of the hotel that I stayed on? It literally sounds like my window is open and I am on the highway. Every motorcycle, loud truck, or Honda Civic with pipes must reside directly outside this hotel. You can literally hear everything! I would not recommend. I've been traveling for work and recreation for over 30 years and have never experienced a room this loud before. I stayed here on a work trip, where multiple rooms where reserved for our team under a corporate card. They had me provide my card for incidentals only.... I checked out on Thursday to find that they charged my card for all of our rooms. Almost $1,000 taken from my account that I was not expecting. This was immediately brought to their attention that same day, but the general manager waiting until the following Monday to reverse the charges. It's been 6 days and I still do not have MY money back, that they stole from me without any authorization to do so. I never signed a single thing stating they could charge my card, let alone charge it for MULTIPLE rooms. When I spoke to the GM, he was extremely rude and would not provide me with proof that a refund was initiated. He immediately had an attitude with no empathy for my situation. read more

I don't often leave reviews of hotels, even though I'm Lifetime Titanium status with Marriott. That said, I feel compelled to leave a review of the Element as it was the best breakfast I've ever had at a hotel that wasn't full service. Everything else (check in, room quality, etc) was excellent as you'd expect from this type of property, but the breakfast food was unreal and better than you'd see at most restaurants. Next time I'm in the area, I'll be staying here again. read more

Overall, the hotel was decent. The room was nice and large. We had a two queen suite and the beds were very comfy. I wish there would have been a bathtub/shower combo and not just a shower. The breakfast was horrible. There was hardly anything in stock and the poor little ladies didn't speak any English to be able to get assistance. Most food was gone and it wasn't even half way into breakfast being over. What we did manage to try was gross. Very disappointing! read more

My husband and I come to Bentonville 3 times a year to ride bikes, this was the first time to stay at Element, we normally Air BnB' it or stay at La Quinta. So here's our review- this place was really clean! And modern! Luckily, those are the must-have's for us. I had been waiting all day for my BonVoy app to tell me my room was ready, hoping to be in before 3pm. After not hearing anything on my app, I called at 3:30 and asked when my room key would be loaded to my phone. Turns out that feature didn't work for this hotel, or maybe it wasn't working yet. The lady then said she would "check to see if they had anything available and that house keeping hadn't come yet". What?! We've had reservations for several weeks! And house keeping hadn't come yet? This didn't make sense. Luckily she said they had ONE ROOM on the first floor we could have. When we got there the woman I had spoken to greeted us, but we quickly found ourselves trying to escape her as she wouldn't stop talking- we just wanted to get to our room. We were there Friday through Sunday and house keeping never came. We had to call and ask for more towels twice. We keep our room tidy anyway, but I had been looking forward to a fresh made bed and new towels, and a vacuum. I kept thinking "maybe they will come while we go biking", or "okay they've got to come while I'm at the pool for the rest of the afternoon". Nope. The breakfast was nice. We had made French toast ourselves for my husband and me and another guest had started making his as well when a woman walked out from the back and said "ummmmmmm....". Apparently she was supposed to be MAKING the French toast for us, but had been gone quite a while. The whole situation was awkward. The next morning breakfast was better- she was ready at her post, although she didn't seem happy about it. They also offered fresh ground coffee that was amazing, so good! I was actually excited about having their coffee again on our 2nd day. When I went to get some on day 2, the machine wasn't turned on. I politely asked the lady who was making the French toast if she knew if the machine was broken. She came over, lifted the touch screen and turned the machine on, saying she just hadn't turned it on yet. Mind you, breakfast started at 7AM and we got there between 7:30 and 7:45AM. I had to wait another 5-10 mins for it to warm up. Besides that, the breakfast was good except there was no meat offered which we thought was a little odd. Loved the french toast offered with fresh fruit and Nutella, the Choboni yogurt bar, and small egg muffins (not much flavor there). We also realized how sad all the dying plants were, while eating breakfast outside on the patio. The potted plants were still in their plastic containers from the store, not really planted. The workout room was great, several resistance machines, elliptical and treadmills, weights and mats. Pool was also nice! As I mentioned, we come up to ride bikes. We often take the cooler along with our water backpacks we need filled with ice. There are no ice machines. The woman at the front had to take the cooler to the kitchen to fill it for us. Our room included a kitchen sink, small fridge, and microwave. Included dishes, a sharp knife, can opener and cutting board. Plenty of lighting in the room! When the air conditioner was on, it was so loud. My husband had a hard time with that. We liked that the TV was mounted on the wall, but many channels offered (this wasn't a big deal for us, just mentioning). All in all, it was clean and modern. The pool and workout room were nice. We probably won't stay here again, though. The service wasn't terrible but it wasn't what we expect out of a hotel. read more

This is clearly a hotel geared to the business traveler, and we saw the entire assembly of guests at 6:15 AM when the fire alarm went off. It was all okay, though. As another guest commented, the staff seem to wander off and nobody at the front desk to answer questions or answer the phone....It was night and I wanted to charge some food to my room and there's no one around. A sign said the staff member would be back in 5 mins...He shows up at the desk after 15 mins with no apologies for having me wait as long as I did... The Element stands true to it's name - "basic", no frills, "bare bones" hotel...This place sucks! read more

This relatively new hotel has kinks to work out. The rooms are comfortable and modern enough. But I woke up this morning to see a beetle bug crawling on my bed. Also, the front desk staff, tho friendly, often wanders off with no one at the desk. This morning, in a rush to catch a 6am flight, I waited and waited, called out hello several times through the lobby, waiting several minutes for someone to show up. Finally, a small thing. Love the attempt at healthy snacks. But some consideration for healthy and tasty would be appreciated. read more

We love the hotel, but the last three stays in a row resulted in billing hassles. This last stay, I was prebilled on my credit card for the more than the final amount, TWICE, plus prebilled $25 for incidentals. After a call to the Element I was told these three charges will drop off my credit card and I will be billed AGAIN for the correct final amount. The screwy billing here is no longer worth it. The next time we're in Bentonville we're staying somewhere else. read more

I don't think it's possible to have a worse stay at a Marriott/Westin property! We checked in late on Thursday night. Our room request was for a lower floor, no feather pillows and a mid-priced suite. We were given a key to a room-not a suite-on the fourth floor of a 4 floor building. There were only 25 cars in the parking lot at 11:30 pm so pretty sure there were lower floors available. When placing drinks in the refrigerator found that it wasn't working. My husband complained about the size of the room and the fridge issue and we were moved to a suite, that wasn't available 15 minutes earlier at check in. There were towels in the new room, but no face cloths, we made do with hand towels. A housekeeper on Friday wasn't sure what a "wash cloth" was. A down comforter and down pillows on the bed. We suffer from allergies, thus the reason for the no feather request. At 0500, the smoke alarms went off throughout the facility, so we made our way to the lobby, where we were greeted by a sign that said the clerk was away and would return in 5min. 20 minutes later he arrived without a word to any of the guests in the lobby, attempted to turn off the alarm and when that didn't work, he returned to the elevator, again without a word to any of the guests. I did stop him and informed him that the fire department had arrived. He spoke to the firemen and disappeared again, never to be seen again. The fire dept told us we were safe to return to our rooms. No employee on Friday offered us any explanation or apology for the early morning sleep disruption! Saturday, I finally broke down and went to the front desk and asked for hand soap for the bathroom. We had been using body wash from shower prior to this, hoping that housekeeper would leave some since they did finally manage to find face clothes. The desk told me they had run out, but had borrowed some from a "sister location" but that housekeeping apparently had been given any since it was all in a basket in the office! We will never stay here again!! read more
