I was disappointed with this salon. My initial consultation needed to be rescheduled. My first service was delayed, although I did appreciate them calling to let me know. I had full highlights and a cut & blowdry. I felt the highlights were more damaging than ones I had in the past and the haircut needed a little tweaking. I was still planning a second service because building hairstylist/client rapport does take a couple of visits. However, this appointment also got delayed. I was also told that this appointment would only be a color touchup with no haircut or blowdry. That is not how I booked the appointment. I will find another salon. read more

Went to Elena Costa this Friday night and saw Sarah. I showed her a picture and she was very attentive. As the client you have to understand it takes a lot of money and time to get close to these Instagram pictures, and we both understood that. She did everything she could to get as close as the picture as possible and she did amazing and made me feel so comfortable. Get what you pay for you say?! Not in this case. Overpriced & disappointed. Let me start off by saying, hair coloring, technique, and style is NOT a one size fits all! And it's not all for "the gram" It just isn't. Hair trends are just that "TRENDS". What looks good on one person may not suit someone else. Had I been informed at my initial consultation that my hair goals were not in "her wheelhouse or not HER style" I would not be making this review. I have thought long and hard about if I should make this review, with that I find that often I depend on reviews myself and think it would be unfair not to post my personal experience in that it may help someone else in the future. In no way is it meant to be mean, (as I feel Megan is a nice person generally speaking) but more constructive criticism more than anything! I can't speak about anyone else in the salon as I have had no interaction with anyone other than Megan and her mother. Upon initial consultation over a year ago, I presented Megan with my (many) inspiration photos of my hair goals, excited at the thought that I was in the hands of someone capable. Initially & over time, I was happy with what I 'thought' was progression leading up to the goal in mind. And in no way or at anytime (and thousands of dollars later) until recently was I lead to believe my expectations were not going to be met. My second to last visit, when I was referring back to my inspo pics, (wanting more dimension & contrast. Basically brunette with pops of blonde highlights), I was told that what I was asking for was "not in her wheelhouse". I was confused and unsure what exactly that meant. At that time we did add more depth, but I figured that again, it would be a process and at the end of that session I was mildly satisfied, (although my hair has looked nothing like my inspo pics since going to her) figuring that we could perfect what I ultimately wanted in the next appointment. ( I was always thinking, in my next appointment it will be perfect) 5 weeks later in my last appointment, I questioned what she meant by saying what I wanted "was not in her wheelhouse". I asked her to clarify, "is it something you're not comfortable doing, something you don't know how to do, OR you just don't do it? " She answered " I just WON'T do it, it's NOT my style!" This is when I knew I WOULD NOT be returning! I was not about to spend any more money on someone doing what they want and not what I want because it's not their style of doing hair. Like, I was little shocked with the answer and wished I had heard it much sooner. Personally, I have never heard that before. But, again had I been told that at the initial consultation, that would have been fine & I could have gone somewhere else. So I decided to go back to Glo Hair Lounge in Winter Springs where I used to live & goto and Dana there told me when I showed her my inspo pics she said happily " I would love to do that for you!" And in one session we achieved exactly what I wanted and for HALF the price. And yes, she has experience, expertise, modern & updated techniques, is educated, participates in continuing education and uses nothing but the best products! To be clear: I have no problem paying expensive prices IF the end goal of mine is achieved but sadly with Megan, after I gave her a year, it did not happen. To the management: I hope you use this review as an educational tool to improve your client's experience. To the prospective client: Choose a stylist that "gets you", your hair goals & stick with them. read more

I had been getting hair cuts for over three years with timea Hamilton. I had white hair down to my waist but had a small yellow spot on one side. Timea told me in June when I was there for a trim that she would get that spot out. I made an appointment for July and she quoted me $95.00. she kept my back to the mirror while she worked on my hair. Of course when at the shampoo bowl I could not see what she was doing. I about had a heart attack when I saw what she did. I had dark ash hair. I never asked her, nir dud I expect, that she would change my hair color. I asked her what did you do to my hair, this is totally unacceptable. She told me to come back in a month and she would get it out. I said no, do it now! She said come back in two days and she would get it out. I went back but she didn't get it out. She said she could lay it on the floor, meaning cut it all off, or I could live with it. I was devastated. On Sunday, the following day, I sent her texts stating what she did by changing my hair color without even discussing it with me was totally unacceptable and I wanted a refund of the $195.00 she charged me. Remember she originally quoted me $95.00. she said no refunds. She said someone from the salon would reach out to me in a couple days. It's been over two months and NO ONE from the salon has reached out to me. Timea ruined my hair and it will take years for the damage to be rectified as my hair is so long. I have never had a hairdresser do work on my hair without a discussion first. I cannot fathom that she would have the audacity to change my hair color without my knowledge and consent. I used to get compliments from total strangers of how beautiful my hair was. Timea even said to me many times that my hair was beautiful and people paid big bucks for what I had. After her messing up my hair she then tried saying people were only being nice and insulting me. Well strangers don't compliment strangers just to be nice. If you value your hair don't go to Timea Hamilton. read more

I made an appointment and waited a month, or a little over for my date. On the day of my appointment they called and said they were running about 50 minutes late. Since my appointment was already at three and probably wouldn't get out till now 6, I called them back and said since it's late. I'll reschedule. Sarah cut my hair and was absolutely lovely and made me feel great with a new cut. Also, Sarah was running behind for the day, so the salon called me a few hours earlier to let me know to come a bit later. I love that they respect my time too. Plus the prices were great!
