Our new home has Brazilian cherry throughout the house, with 8 years of neglected care so I decided to refinish before moving in. This is a gating item to the move so speed is important. Daniil responded to my quote request the same day, with the measurements and quote ready the very next day. He gave honest and fair assessments, answered all our (numerous) questions, and did not push more work than necessary to make sure the results look good. His team was ready to roll the very next Monday. Francisco did amazing work reinvigorating the floors, and all the gaps between had been neatly finished. After the baseboards were recaulked and painted, the floors look as good as new. Overall the 2 floors and 800+ sqft were neatly finished in about 5 days, including sanding, gap filling, 3 coats of finish, painting and touching up baseboards. Daniil and his team were excellent and I plan to use them whenever we need to replace floors. Our house was about 1700 sq ft with a mixture of tile, bamboo, and old carpet. We wanted to replace it all with French Oak looking LVP. Daniil came promptly and gave us a quote and recommended some brands and products that he had experience with. We found some we liked and he promptly delivered samples straight to our house! Once we decided on one, Daniil kindly offered to order it for us and said he would take care of transportation as well. Unfortunately, due to COVID, our flooring material was stuck in a shipping container and delayed by more than a month. During this time, Daniil handled the situation for us and we were at ease. He simply started a couple days after the materials came in and was relatively low stress for us. The final result is wonderful and we love it! The crew was quick, courteous, and efficient. The floors were beautiful, and they came back a couple times to fix any issues with minor bubbles or random creaking in spots. I hate to post this given all of the other positive reviews and it being a small business but I wanted to share my insights given our experience. We had hardwood and carpet replaced with vinyl Vellichor, SPC Galaxy flooring in our entire house (1700 sq ft). There were (and still are) so many issues it's easiest to list them out below: 1) Project was not completed on time. While this is to be expected, we were told they were completed so we moved back in with our 2 year old and when we showed up there were still workers there with power tools, dust and furniture not moved back. 2) They broke our oven door and bed frame. 3) Instead of taking the time to remove the hardwood, they put the vinyl floors on top of the hardwood without consulting us which created a a 1.5 lip going down to the other room. It took them 8 months to create a custom transition. When it was finally installed it had a huge scratch in it which they did nothing about even after I pointed it out. It still looks terrible. 4) There is significant bowing in two areas of the flooring. We were told it just needs to "settle" but 10 months later it is still there. 5) They over-ordered by 5 boxes. I understand ordering extra but given our square footage that seems excessive. When we asked for the extra boxes back from their storage facility no one returned my email. 6) The product they recommended scratches like crazy. We don't have any pets and our floors are completely scratched after 10 months. The manufacturers warranty is terrible and won't cover day to day wear and tear so are stuck with it. We have since found other products that are actually scratch proof and have much better warranties but alas it is too late. 7) The floor boards were not painted before they were installed as agreed to. So their "painter" came after the fact and used a paintbrush vs spray and they used caulking along the bottom. We had other paint companies come in to give quotes to fix it and they need to be completely removed and new ones put in to fix the issue. 8) The flooring shifted in our kitchen because they didn't install flooring under the fridge so the flooring in that section shifted to reveal the hardwood (that they didn't take out) underneath. We had to fix this ourselves by gluing down the vinyl. Honestly, there were even other little items that I didn't mention but you've probably stopped reading by now :) I think the main issue was miscommunication between the owner, Daniil, and the workers. We talked to both separately and they just blamed the other person. We are totally and completely disappointed with every aspect of our new flooring. Very sad given the money and time it takes to redo floors. read more

I want to start by saying that Daniil and his guys are AMAZING!! I needed to find someone to install some flooring that I purchased from Costco but I had no idea who I could find to do it during this pandemic. I heard of Angie's List years ago from a friend because she did not know who could help her with all her home projects and said it was very helpful. It provided me a list of floor installing companies, I called the first one and the man was not friendly and seemed very unorganized(already was a bad sign).I called the next one on my list Elephant Floors, and I am so happy I did. Daniil answered and was very professional,informative,and knew his schedule and provided me some days and times to come out for a estimate. I told him I would not be home for the estimate because I would still be at work, and that my mom would be there to show him what rooms I needed done. Daniil came on time and was very considerate with practicing safe social distancing by offering to wear a mask. I work in Health Care and I cannot tell you how much I appreciated that. I happened to get home early, Daniil was talking with my mom and noticed some other things I needed done from a previous unfinished job and said he could also take care of the wall trim if we wanted it done. I was like yes,please!! Daniil did tell me he would only be able to do the trim and not paint because of course they are a flooring company. I was totally fine with that. I was happy just knowing that is one less thing I have to worry about. At the end of the visit Daniil told me he would send the quote by the end of night or early morning and the job would only take a day and a half. I received the quote that night and the price was right. I told him what day would work and he said he would send his guys at 8:45am. The day of his team showed up and got to work,I was so impressed because they finished everything within about 5 hours!!!! I couldn't believe they were done. Everything came out so nice, Daniil followed up with a call to see how it all went and if I wanted him to come by for a walk through. I told him one of his guys did a walk through with me and everything was perfect. I told him how amazed I was with how fast they finished. Daniil told me he wanted to make sure everyone was there to finish so that I would be able to move all my furniture back and not be inconvenienced for another day, which I really appreciated. I will forever be a customer of Elephant Floors!! Just recently my cousin asked for his information because someone she knows needs their floors done and she remembered me going on and on about my recent experience. This in an overdue review of Elephant Floors and the excellent job they did for us back in September of 2021. The flooring has held up beautifully since then. We had some flooding in our condo, and the water remediation people recommended a contractor to replace the flooring. Not knowing anything about them, other than they were available to get it done quickly, we made the mistake of having them put down cheap vinyl flooring which soon started to warp and buckle. That was when we decided to hire a flooring expert to do the job right. From my first contact, Daniili, the owner, was professional and responsive to all my questions and concerns. He advised me on picking out the right materials, accommodated my schedule, and even helped me deal with my HOA. Jorge and his team worked efficiently, and always cleaned up at the end of the day. It took less than a week to replace almost all the flooring in our 900+ sf unit. I appreciated their attention to detail, especially with the smooth transitions from room to room. The flooring we chose was SPC vinyl (Gaia Sole). Once we made our choice, Daniili offered another option that was similar but cheaper, but we stuck with Gaia based on positive reviews. Had my hardwood floor refinished by Elephant Floors. I have extended old wood floor with some new pieces. So I really need to sand them and stain to blend them together. After sanding, I found my old floor is white oak but the new boards are red oaks. I chose a light grayish stain on my sanded floor and it turned out to be great. I can't really tell the difference between old and new boards. I insisted to have a matte top coat on it. I believe it is a trend to go with matte finish these years. The result like a real high end hardwood floor. These guys are very professional and did a really great job! They sanded and applied wood putty to some of the dents. When they apply the top coat, they closed all Windows and doors to avoid dust. The final finish is flawless. read more

Daniil's quote was the lowest one I got, but I also chose him because he seemed like he really knew his stuff. Also he was more flexible than other installers, who said all furniture would have to be moved out. He said no problem, they would just move the furniture to one side of the room, install the floor on the other side, than move the furniture back onto that. His workers have comprehensive skills; they took care of details that I thought were out of scope and would have to do myself, like grouting under my fireplace tile to fill the gap after the carpet was removed. They did a beautiful job; planks properly parallel/perpendicular to walls and properly staggered, and super tight joints. Seven months after the initial installation I noticed that there were some details that weren't quite right. In my opinion the true test of a contractor is how they deal with issues. Daniil passed with flying colors; I sent pictures to Daniil, and he said yes, those should be fixed and sent a worker out to care of them. It did take a few weeks, but understandable given the circumstances and that tradespeople are currently all slammed. In case anyone is wondering, the flooring is Gaia Impala LVT; it's a vinyl/stone composite, 100% waterproof. It was only $2.50/sq ft when I bought it last October at Pacific Home Decor in San Jose. Notice the nice detail work - there are 15 pieces of quarter round base molding just around the base of the entertainment center. read more

My initial experience was great and went somewhat downhill from there. Daniil and Camelia were excellent at helping me pick the products and that gave me a lot of confidence in choosing his company. But execution was a mixed story. Parts ordered were insufficient, but that was not the main problem. The problem is reaching Daniil to fix it was not easy. When I requested a phone call, I never got one. Just continued to text me and ignored my request for a phone conversation. And he spent nearly two weeks assuming the parts are not in stock, but in fact they were. The floor installation itself was done fine. However, the installers caused some damages in the house but didn't inform me and neither offered to solve it. Also, there was very little communication between Daniil and the installation crew and that created some weird situations. So it is a mixed bag and overall, I did not feel great working with this company. read more

Daniel made a verbal commitment then sent a text to me backing out and blocking my number after we awarded him the contract. Bad business. This all started after I let him know that the drywaller wanted the baseboards removed so they can finish their texture work to the floor. Daniel was insistent in not understanding that if he removes the baseboard after they texture that the walls will leave indentations and he will be responsible. I let him know that there is a timeline to get the project completed and his window of time was essential. For him to bail out without professionally discussing the matter shows his lack of experience and can cost homeowners time and money. Do NOT go with this flooring contractor. I sent an email to him hoping to resolve this. I will then update this review if he responds. Update: I'm glad Daniel replied back. His rant and blaming the customer confirms his unprofessional attitude. Bill Gates said, your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning. You'll get it one day. read more

Our house flooded 2 years ago and I resorted to Home Advisor for some flooring quotes. I had 3 companies come out to give me a quote. The first company told me to call him for the quote only if I was going to use him, the second company wanted to know how much I paid for my material so he could base his quote on that. But Elephant Floors that came out, took his measurements and that evening sent them to me as well as called me to follow-up and be sure I received it. Unfortunately it was close to the Holidays so I had to wait until this year to start the work. His quote didn't change, it was the same and we started work at the end of June. 5 bedrooms, living room, family room, formal dining room as well as upstairs landing all done in hardwood and completed within a week as promised. We then had tile put in, in our entryway and 2 bathrooms and then we enclosed the steps on our staircase and had that all done in hardwood. All this was complete by mid-July. We had a little problem with the grout color for the tile, but Daniil's employee came back out and redid them for us. My husband and I are so happy with the work Daniil and his employees did. His employees are A-class, they kept me up-to-date with what they were doing and what they had left to do.
