If you have been to chang thai, (their sister restraunt), you will know what to expect. Reliably good food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. While no thai in colorado has really hit the mark for me yet, this one is getting there. The atmosphere was above average in my opinion. Well taken and interesting thai photos on the walls, murals, and a table cloth design that stood out. This and the service stood out as being a bit better than their sister restraunt. Food is where you see the similarity. The phad thai has a very distinct spice blend that made it obvious they use the same recipes. This one had a slight improvement though in that it wasnt quite as saucy as chang thai which was my main complaint from there. The staff was super friendly and quick with both food and water which is always nice. Overall a good spot for thai in the springs. read more

Unfortunately I can't tell you how this food was because my children and I were turned away after biking there with intention. We had checked the web site and looked for the hours of operation. We would make it in plenty of time. We planned to just get our food and head to our local park, to cap our day. It was 8:04. They said they were open till 8:30. No go. Came across this restaurant by accident for an early dinner with the family. This restaurant gives you the authentic humid hot as heck environment you'd get if you really were in Thailand hahaha. Wished the ac was on so I could've ordered some soups but it was soooo hot. We should've sat outside on the patio to be honest. But other than that, our waitress was really nice and the food was great! Everything was very well seasoned. The fried pork belly was the star out of all the dishes. Chicken Pad Thai was good (chicken was a little dry) but noodles were well seasoned. Fried rice was also good (chicken was also dry). Chicken satay was a little bland but the peanut sauce was sooo good. Pad kra pao level 3 gave the perfect amount of heat. The vinegar sauce for the fried pork belly was very addicting. Authentic Thai food is very hard to find, and they delivered on this. We enjoyed their Boat Noodle and papaya salad. Only thing that caught us by surpise from another restaurant also is the papaya salad with green beans. Typically papaya salad comes with long beans, but still delicious. The prices were a little high, but quality and quantity of food was worth it. Okay so this might be my new favorite Thai spot in town! The Thai tea was sweet but not overly sweet. Very enjoyable! The pad see ew had a lot of meat (I did beef in mine) and was a huge portion! I couldn't finish it and had to take it home. I basically had a second dinner. And the flavor saved well. I did medium heat and it was a little on the light side of a medium but it was still very flavorful. The location was super clean and decorated well. I love that it wasn't overly saturated in soy and oil, noodles were not clumpy/stuck together, BUT they added egg to the vegan dish. Service: Maybe it was just a super busy night, but service missed the mark. It was LNY so could be that's why it was so busy on a Wednesday? They also had a bunch of takeout orders so that likely contributed. After we were seated, it took awhile for the server to come back and take our order. Our food also took some time to come out, but it was busy so I get that. Once everything came out, no one checked on us and our waters were only filled after we were already paying our bill. It took at least 20 minutes of waiting after we were done eating, when we finally were able to flag down a server to ask for our check. When I was brought the bill, I tried to ask the server for an additional item but she left the check and promptly left with the dirty dishes. Again, I do think it was just a busy night, but the service was lacking the night of our visit. Not super crowded at lunch time. 14 tables, with only 4 occupied on a Tuesday. Casual atmosphere. Super delicious broth in the vegetable soup that comes with lunch. The Rangoon was cold and kinda soggy and not appealing. The Elephant Thai signature stirfry noodles was the main dish. $16.95. I waited in anticipation, and the wait was not very long. I like hot and spicy food and ordered this medium, which was the right amount of heat for me. Any hotter and I probably wouldn't have been able to taste my food! The noodles were absolutely delicious. I would describe the dish as a variation of Pad Thai. While I loved the flavor, the chicken in my dish was pre-cooked and it was... mealy... and dry. It was noticeable in the larger chunks of chicken in the dish, but luckily there weren't a ton of larger pieces. The meal was enough for one person with no leftovers. I loved this place for months on end, ordering often 2-4 times a week via Doordash, always ordering the same Chicken Larb, medium spice, drunken noodles and sometimes sticky rice and mango. I have been to this location and the owners/key employees are lovely and warm. However the last few times I've ordered I have literally thrown the entire meal into the trash. I ordered last night and once again as in the last time ordered Chicken Larb, the chicken was greasy, and had an oily color unlike the white ground chicken I use to receive. It was fire spiced where you choked on the first bite, eyes watering, nose running as I gulped water to kill the burn. I even drove down there with a previous order and the lovely young man remade the meal and it was perfect. I don't know who is cooking the food now but it is clearly hurting their business. I threw a 30 meal into the trash after only two bites. It's a shame that this seems to happen often in Colorado Springs. Restaurants put their best foot and food forward, get you locked in as repeat business and then make changes that alter the food and experience. How do you know a good Thai place? By their noodle dishes. While I can't speak to all of them, I can speak Elephant Thai's Pad See Ew and Drunken Noodle and both were delicious. Having been spoiled by an amazing Thai restaurant in the past, I have become quite the critic when it comes to the noodles presented. The noodles must be buttery soft, not too chewy, irregular in shape, and have the ability to soak up the goodness of whatever sauce they are resting in. These noodles did just that. I can't confirm if Elephant Thai makes their noodles from scratch but I have a strong hunch they just might. Or they have a great source for their noodle import! Alright, enough about the noodles. The flavor from all the dishes ordered (Tofu Satay included with dipping sauce) came through nicely. Our service while dining was great. We were quick to be seated, waited on promptly and served with a smile. The establishment isn't overly big so if you come at prime meal time be prepared for a wait (unless you called ahead). read more

They're calling this soup pho, and yet when I look at it in my refrigerator today it's still liquid. Even a sub par or half decent pho broth gelatinizes in the refrigerator overnight. While I know it's childish to add this next bit of information, not even my dog wants to eat most of the leftovers that I've ever brought home from this restaurant. He'll eat the lumpia and the fried rice... . I would be embarrassed to serve these things and call them lumpia, tbh... What are the springs rolls stuffed with chicken? Why do you keep putting chicken in my spring rolls when I order them without? Maybe it wouldn't be so bad it's the chicken wasn't bland and WAY overcooked........ Next time my idiot friends decide they want to go to elephant Thai for dinner again...... I either won't be joining them or I will happily sit at the table with them and let your server know exactly what I think of your disgusting food. I feel like none of the meat has ever seen a tenderizer considering it's mostly chewy consistency. Everything on the menu has wonderful flavor potential except for the fact that everything seems to be watered down to the consistency of water. You're allowed to use thickeners in your sauces. It helps it adhere to the foods you're pairing them with. Damn ya'll! I just found my first 10/10 restaurant in the Springs. It's a new Thai place called Elephant Thai street food. I loved it so much! It's a pretty small/intimate place with seating for maybe 20. It's not pretentious, but not hood either. It's simply comfortable. The menu is extensive for a Thai place and the prices are reasonable. What really got me was the plating! For a street food joint to have dishes looking like this, well it shows me they care. I hoped it tasted as good as it looked. It was better! I had their signature dish which is similar to a Thai fried rice, but with noodles. I ordered it with medium heat and it had some heat to it. There was only one young lady running the front of the house, from taking phone orders, bringing out to-go orders, seating and taking care of all dine-in folks, literally everything and she killed it! She had to refill my water 3 times and still made time to converse with me each time. I'm telling you, if you like Thai, don't, walk, don't run, but get in your car and speed to Elephant Thai. I legit couldn't wait to write the review. I'm in my car still! I just fell in love with this restaurant! The restaurant itself is beautiful and clean. You walk in not only to a beautifully decorated restaurant but a warm welcome. Everyone was so incredibly friendly! Seating was a breeze. My guess is because they are new, but I can't see it staying like this for long. I'm sure it'll be packed as soon as word of mouth gets about this gem. The food was so fresh and delicious. I left feeling full but not heavy. We got our food and drinks pretty fast too bonus! We were hungry after the zoo. The Thai green tea was so beautiful and refreshing.
