Umami burger and red curry on the side.

Food was solid. Nice lunch crowd showed up for a Tuesday. I especially liked the red curry side and strawberry shortcake. The atmosphere is a lot of fun and thoughtfully put together. Matt the waiter was excellent. And as a vegetarian, to have an entire menu to choose from is heaven. I'll be back for sure.

The food is okay - mostly underwhelming and uninspired with a few tasty bits here and there. It's one of those meals where at first you're like "Yum!", then, as the course progresses, you realize you were just really hungry. Overall, the food is not objectionable (even if the plating and presentation is a little odd), but I wouldn't go back. It's the kind of vegan food that is made by someone who has friends that tell them their cooking is really good, but honestly, they wouldn't know any better because their plant-based experience is largely limited to Amy's frozen burritos and Oreos.

I've been here once but it's my favorite restaurant! Such a great vibe here. The people were great as was the food. I wished I lived in the area so I could go back often!

Do you show up to eat or to also enjoy the environment and vibe of a restaurant? I want it all and found it at The Burrowing Owl! Whooo doesn't love owls? The decor is eclectic, interesting and is sure to be a part of your conversation as you enjoy cocktails, beer or wine and some of the best vegan, vegetarian food in all of Denver! The 4 at our table were more than satisfied with the food! This is surely a great location for a date or a group of friends or family. Indoor and outdoor seating. Cool, live edge bar if that's your style to make new friends. Burrowing Owl, does have a special from 9-midnight everyday, so check them out on line then show up and give your palate a mouthful! Next time I go for a visit, I might need to buy the t-shirt!

Fantastic lunch at The Burrowing Owl. Was my first visit with friends from work, our host may have figured we hadn't been there before and asked if we knew it was a vegan, plant-based restaurant. He gave us some menus to look over and dipped into the kitchen to provide us a sample. He returns with a dish resembling nacho and cheese, lettuce, tomatoes. The sample was good so we stayed. I actually order half of Sasquatch nachos. Chips, queso, sloppy meat, lettuce/tomatoes and jalapenos. Wish there were more jalapenos but it was good. Service was great, and their beer selection is pretty stout. Settled for an Anderson Valley West Coast IPA and that was outstanding.y friends both tried the crunchy tacos and noted they were good. Overall great visit and I would return again. Liked the beer selection and the place has a positive vibe. Worth a visit.

I've been to Burrowing Owl twice now and I thoroughly enjoyed both experiences. The food is stellar, the service is fast and friendly and the atmosphere is cozy and eclectic. Can't recommend it enough. Also, never skip dessert here.

Visiting from Charlotte and we are vegans so was looking for all vegan restaurants near by, came across this and gave it a try. I have to say this didn't meet our expectations. We ordered Caesar salads with soy curl, bacon season salad and spicy Mac, none of these tasted good. The salad had this weird taste and smell that I ended up leaving all soy curls aside. The Mac and cheese was the worst - so liquidy and spicy, I hated the bean part in it but that was my fault Cz I didn't read the menu properly - spicy cheese have jalepeano chilli in it but anyways I can imagine even without chilli the Mac n cheese would have been so runny. The only one thing I really liked was the tomato soup. Having all that said this is just my opinion, my taste maybe different than yours. I'm always in support of vegan restaurants so even when i don't like it, if i am dining there I'm supporting em. But as a reviewer I would always leave my honest opinion.

Great atmosphere and vegan food. If you are non vegan you will find something. Also donate to great causes!

I had dinner with a group of five colleagues and the food was delicious and the atmosphere unique. Would definitely go back again next time I'm passing through.

Even if you are not a vegan, this place is top notch and you wouldn't even know it. The food is prepared so well and how they are able to merge different ingredients to make the food taste like the actual things amazing. It is one of my favorite places to visit and eat at in Colorado Springs in the atmosphere and the staff are amazing. You will not be disappointed as there are so many options to choose from And things to try that even if you are a regular meat eater, you will not be disappointed here.

The Burrowing Owl is a lovely Vegan Restaurant with some of the best vibes I've experienced in Colorado Springs. I don't consider myself a vegan but they have some of the best food I've ever had, vegan or not! My favorite dish has to be the Crunchwrap that they do on weekends and honestly, it tops the original, which might be a hot take but I love it that much. On top of that, the service is always wonderful. The hosts and servers are always polite and nice and try their best to meet the needs of everyone, even when the place is packed. Can't think of a better way to spend a weekend lunch!

Loved the little touch added by the card holders!

Great vibe and food. It was loud but I enjoyed our waitress. She was bubbly and knew the menu.

Couldn't ask for more for our anniversary night out. They're up-leveling the menu in early April, but it's already so tasty! Had the waygu sliders, lobster-sweet corn fritters, shrimp skewers, and flourless chocolate torte. All superb! Next menu will be more locally inspired. It sounds great, but I'd go now before it changes as well, so you won't miss out on current offerings.

It was not. I've been ordering that martini for 27 years. After much discussion, the waitress agreed to bring me three olives. She did not want to take the drink back. We ordered the shrimp skewers and the corn and lobster balls. The shrimp was criminally overdone, basically seafood jerky. Neither my wife nor I could even taste the lobster in the balls, much less see any actual lobster meat in them. Lots and lots of corn, though. Very disappointing experience. The view was amazing, but for the price we paid, the service and food were substandard.

I have to admit that the ambience is really cool; you walk down into a basement to enter the restaurant, which used to be the city morgue, and while that's a little bit creepy, it gives the space a dark, velvety vibe that I think some people would really like. However, for a higher-end establishment, I found the service to be kind of spotty and not quite up to par. My biggest disappointment was the food, as we ordered two entrées to share and found both to be rather disappointing and honestly kind of bad, which was especially frustrating given how expensive they were. While it might have just been the specific dishes we chose, the combination of high prices, underwhelming food, and inconsistent service means I likely won't be back, even if the unique atmosphere was interesting to see once.
