Despite clear feedback, the needling continued. I was left with bruising at multiple injection sites, which has never occurred for me with acupuncture. After the treatment, I developed a significant reaction, including redness and widespread hives, consistent with an allergic or histamine-type response, not normal muscle soreness. I also woke up the following day in severe neck pain, worse than the condition I came in to treat. When I followed up and shared photos of the reaction, my concerns were minimized and repeatedly framed as "soreness" from deeper needling, despite evidence to the contrary. A $60 refund was offered, but it does not begin to account for the level of pain, injury, and distress caused. This was not a standard or safe acupuncture experience. The practitioner demonstrated poor judgment and a lack of responsiveness to patient feedback. I will not return and would strongly caution others, particularly those sensitive to aggressive needling techniques. .

It only took Vinh and Blaze 45 minutes to fix a painful issue I've been dealing with since a bad car accident. I swear to God, my brain exploded. My right hip flexor was actually fixed. FIXED!!! I don't know or understand what Alakazam-Hocus Pocus-Expecto Patronum wizardry they performed, but I walked out in complete disbelief. What impressed me the most was how incredibly skilled, knowledgeable, and attentive Vinh and his team were. They listened, they explained what was going on, and then hit the reset button on me. I'm literally still in shock as I write this review. LOL. Vinh and Blaze are miracle workers disguised as physical therapists, and I can't recommend them enough.

That is where the 1star is from. With that said-- this is not a safe place for Black people. My first session, she pulled the 'All my friends are Black' trope with Me. Iris literally told Me "50% of them are dem and 50% are rep. I'm just here in the middle trying to hold them all together. Not like Jesus though; ego." Equating her self as a white savior then acting like anyone even compared her to Jesus other than her self. This woman emphasizes with trump. She bragged about loving Candance Owens; and literally tried to debate Me about the fact that Candance Owens perpetuates racism and self hate. She also has American flags everywhere.. including in a Buddhas hand lol. I also heard her arguing with another patient over Kyle Rittenhouse(another white man was disgusted by him and was nervous he wouldn't be charged). Her response, "Well I'm more worried about THEM burning down buildings." 'Them' meaning My people-- Black people. He told her, "You mean standing up for them selves and fighting for their rights?" Her response in an aggressive and condescending tone, "You mean just burning down buildings." This man actually held her accountable to which he asked her, "Well what do you do to make the situation better for the Black community?" She responded as a typical, privileged, entitled white woman "What do you mean?! Look at me! I'm here healing you. I'M A HEALER. I HEAL." As if that had anything to do with what he said. Nor is she a healer, she's a paid chiropractor that wouldn't be offering services if she didn't need a career or money. She then proceeded to come into My room and try to bring the conversation up with Me which was immediately shut down, only to be followed by her telling Me a story of her feeling victimized. Typical. Every session here was Iris coming into the room, talking about her self, unprompted. Constantly reiterating that she's an independent that sides more with reps, and just being completely ignorant and self absorbed when all I wanted was to just get My adjustments. The only reason I ever went back here after My first session was that I had paid for multiple sessions already upfront and had forgotten to cancel the second automatic charge. I honestly didn't even schedule My last paid session because I didn't want this woman touching My chakras anymore. Nor did I want to have to deal with being in a toxic environment for a Black person. If you're into ignorance, entitlement, and racism, then this is the place for you and I'm sure you won't mind her behavior or the convos. If you're a Black person, I would recommend doing more research to find another place. The cute lights, lasers, and aesthetic don't make up for the experience.

I've been coming here often enough to notice that 10 Body Type has a bunch of regulars - meaning people see a positive difference in their health and keep coming back. This is a casual office, and you're given your own small room for care, which is complete with acupuncture needles (the number ranging depending on what you're being seen for), magnets (at the doctor's discretion), and heat lamps to improve circulation and for comfort. A lot of people think acupuncture is akin to a massage or spa place - it is not. It's a doctor's office for medical treatment! Once you're needled, you rest for about 20-45 minutes in the same position, and you're welcome to bring headphones to pass the time. Specific background for why I go to acupuncture in case it's helpful to someone in a similar boat: I've been suffering for two plus years with a vaccine injury that caused a host of heart, lung, and energy issues, including an onslaught of mass cell activation and depression. I've spent the majority of the last two years in bed and in a tremendous amount of pain. I was finally referred to a pain management specialist, and she mandated that I begin acupuncture alongside some trial prescriptions for nerve pain. My first acupuncture appointment made me feel like I just had ten cups of coffee. Energy and life and joy that had been inaccessible to me were suddenly returned. Acupuncture is vital in restoring and strengthening a body's Qi or Chi, and that's exactly what I've felt. I go to acupuncture diligently twice a week to improve my circulation and stay on course with my overall improvement of health and happiness. I skipped one appointment and I didn't have the strength to exercise! Though I do hope one day soon I won't need so many visits, twice a week is absolutely crucial for my quality of life right now. I was familiar with 10 Body Type because I used to come here years ago for frozen shoulder / calcium deposits from sports injuries and use. It definitely helped with my recovery and pain management, and sports injuries are a very common reason people go to acupuncture for the first time. 10 Body Type is located in a shopping strip with its own parking lot, or there's plenty of metered parking. I wholeheartedly recommend 10 Body Type. Please read about acupuncture beforehand if you're nervous, but the staff and doctors will make you feel completely at ease and it's truly a painless and simple thing with so many benefits. I tried making follow-up appointments on her online appointment system only to be told by Mona that she never got them. She told me I should call her for appointments because the online system was not accurate. Mona was not good at returning calls so booking an appointment required a couple of calls before getting a response from her. For my fourth appointment I left a couple of messages and Mona did not return my calls at all. I ran into Mona about a month ago outside of her new WeHo location. While exchanging greetings and briefly chatting with Mona I reminded her of her failure to return my calls for my last attempt to make an appointment. She stated she'd not gotten my messages and suggested I come in for treatments at the new location. A couple weeks later I stopped by the WeHo location while in the area and although Mona was not in I asked the receptionist to make an appointment. After about ten minutes of failed attempts on the computer she said it was a new system and she'd have to check with Mona to confirm her schedule before booking an appointment. I said I'd call Mona and schedule. I called Mona a couple of times and left messages asking her to call me to schedule an appointment. True to form, Mona did not return my calls. I pre-paid $1000 for a series of ten treatments. In return I received three treatments. Mona's business practices are unprofessional, unethical and dishonest. A huge waste of money and energy. The entire session lasted maybe 15 minutes total -- about 12 minutes of rushed talking and only 3 minutes of actual acupuncture on my face. I later called my insurance company, who confirmed there's no time limit on covered services. I also spoke to another acupuncturist in the area who offers a full hour session for the same copay, so clearly something isn't right here. The provider seemed much more interested in cash-pay clients and even tried to upsell me on her herbal teas instead of focusing on treatment. She barely listened when I tried to explain where I was in pain and rushed me through the appointment. If you have insurance, save your time and go somewhere else -- you'll get a much better, more professional experience elsewhere.
