I'm overjoyed to say that I've found my new local med spa and dermatologist!…read more I had become quite addicted to getting monthly facials which, at a med spa is an entirely different experience. I love getting oxygen facials and a variety of others that I just discovered last spring when I signed up for a subscription plan at the spa close to home in New York. Upon moving back to NOLA, I searched Yelp for a med spa with a subscription plan and immediately made my appointment. A subscription plan is nice because going monthly is key to keeping your skin in tip top shape. Admittedly I haven't done much more than use good products throughout my adulthood but now I'm a believer! I also get the occasional laser Genesis treatments (evens skin tone, erases fine lines et), which Hickham has here as well. It's the least invasive laser (honestly, I always think lasers hurt) and leaves you positively glowing. My appointment was with Dawn and she was great! We did dermaplaning and the laser Genesis and I left loving my positively dewy skin. No downtime with Laser Genesis either. Hickham offers two kinds of subscription services, one for facials and one for laser treatments and microneedling (which is a little scary for me but I may check it out eventually). Both plans get you discounts on other products and services at the spa. I also visited with Dr. Hickham for that oh-so-crucial full body scan, which was quick and easy. I'll definitely be going back to her if and when I need to as she made me feel super comfortable. I'll be back regularly!

She has truly TRANSFORMED my skin and because of her, I was able to get my confidence back. Initially, when I came to her, I had the WORST breakout of my life. Cystic, blackhead, whitehead, you name it (pictured below). I had it all. The breakout lasted over a several month period before I saw her (approx. 3 months or more) and showed no signs of stopping, just getting worse. At the time, I was a sophomore in college and this gave me extreme social anxiety and insecurity as I was worried that people were constantly looking at my acne and not my face. Looks definitely don't mean everything to me, but I was tired of other people being so distracted by my face that they were treating differently. It was a very challenging time for me, but luckily my mom found this exact Yelp page when she was doing research and so we agreed to try her out. I was at the end of my rope -- so ready to give up and just accept the infected, acne-ridden skin I had. I didn't think it was possible to change it. I originally didn't have high expectations when I first saw her and I thought that this was going to be a dud, like all of my other efforts had been to fix my skin. Prior to Mandy, I had a dermatologist, had been on at least 3 different acne medications, including Acutane (many of which actually made me physically sick or ill -- almost hospitalized) as well as having tried so many face washes and masks that I truly thought that I was maybe cursed with acne for life. Since day one, Mandy has been kind, compassionate and extremely helpful when assisting me with my skin. I go see her anytime I possibly can to get my skin treated or when I have a question about a new product or skin regimen. I trust her 110% and she has more than delivered, over and over again. She treats all of her clients with the utmost professionalism and care, as well as personalizes her care to YOUR specific skin. Over the summer in college, when I went back to California, Mandy also did research for me and temporarily referred me to an acne specialist she trusted. In the meantime before I got back, they helped me. I have never gone back to anyone else about my skin -- not even a dermatologist -- because I have never needed to. Mandy knows her stuff and I have been able to fix my acne problem just with her. My face is living proof that what she does works. It might as well be magic to me, because I couldn't have done it by myself. All of the time and investment I've spent on my skin with her has been totally worth it and I would do it again if I ever needed to. Today, I still have acne trouble, but that is mostly due to hormones. Either way, Mandy has been there by my side to help me figure it out and make it manageable. Soon, I'm going to be working on clearing up my acne scars with her and I can't wait. Thank you Mandy, for all you have done for me and so many others!! Dr. Martin was recommended by her Primary Care physician. The answering administrative staff member informed that there would be a $50.00 'security' deposit to schedule the appointment, 'before we get started'. 75 years of medical interactions, this has never occurred before, I was informed that there was no insurance info on file and this was standard. I was never asked to submit the insurance info even though the 94 year old had a previous appointment scheduled and was unable to attend. I submit The Claiborne Dermatology business is not customer focused.

Well after leaving six messages to NO avail, I went in to the office to ask what action we should take. Martin had the nerve to come out and actually told me in front of his nurse and receptionist that he was never shown a photo, that his son was dealing with a "crazy" person in their chalmette office, and that "THEY HAD BIGGER FISH TO FRY" and turned his back on me and walked away!!!! I left out wanting to cry and feeling humiliated. To me, my husband's eye is a "big fish to fry". Martin was the rudest dr. I have ever experienced seeing in my 64 years. So very very disgraceful. We went to our primary care doctor and then our allergy doctor and both of them told us that our…read more5-year old daughter just had molluscum contagiosum. That there was nothing I needed to do as they mostly go away. We waited almost two years for them to go away and the bumps kept building up. Dr. Poole was referred to me and on his website he had the specialty of treating this virus. We went for our visit and it was so much easier than I anticipated. He put a drop of a chemical on about 40+ bumps(that started out with only 1 bump) and there was no pain or discomfort my daughter felt. You have to use Tylenol and Aquaphor for 24-hours, but other than that, they blistered up, scabbed and then fell off. We just went back after one month and she only had 8 this time, that he had to treat. My little girl was so happy and proud of herself that she did so well. No shots, she said. He was a great, friendly doctor for kids. I would highly recommend.
