I highly recommend this nail salon. My coworker nails always look nice so I asked her where she goes and she recommended Essential Salon and Nail Spa. I finally made it there and I was not disappointed. When I walked in I was greeted by a friendly receptionist and asked to wash my hands. Everyone is asked to sanitize their hands before they sign in. The place was very clean. They have a nice color selection to choose from. I decided to get a dip manicure and pedicure. After about a 10 minute wait a nail technician greeted me by name and sat me at their station. I was very pleased with my final results. After my nails were done another nail technician brought me to the pedicure area. My pedicure was divine, so relaxing, and the massage chairs were a nice touch. They offer many other services besides nail care. They have a full hair salon on one side and also offer wax services. The prices were a little high but it was well worth it (It was a total of $90 before tip). My only complaint was that they don't give you anything to drink, I'm use to nail salons giving you something to sip on while you get your nails done. I'll definitely be back. Note that it is located in a strip mall so there is plenty of parking available. read more

The guy who did my pedicure did a really nice job. But the lady who did my nails really messed over me. I told her my nails were too big and thick and she didnt care. she charged me $90 for these terrible nails. Will go Monday for them to fix this mess. And after that will only go for pedicure. I go to this nail spa occasionally and at first I was deciding if I wanted to go back (because of the last visit), but I recently had a session with a wonderful lady named Vanna. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she did even better than the picture I provided. I also have a foreign body stuck in the bottom of my foot and bruised big toes (under the nails) which she worked around for me and still did a good job in those areas. I went in for an eyebrow wax. The front desk wasn't the most welcome. Then i went back for a wax. I explained to the gentleman that i have very sensitive skin and asked if he could tweeze instead. He recommended waxing over tweezing considering my sensitive skin so it was likely i'd listen to the professional. The wax was entirely painful and he rubbed something on afterwards that made my skin burn. My skin was literally waxed off of my eyelids. I think that some compensation should be made for this. read more

A little more expensive than some of their competition but consistent and efficient with moving through the waiting list. They take appointments on all days except Friday and Saturday. On my last visit, my toes did chip a few days later so I went back today. They said they will happily comp any nail repair a week after because they want their clients to be happy. My favorite nail salon was bought out and had to find another nail salon. Luckily, this one is closer to my house and is great!! I went on new years eve. Bad idea. The wait turned into 45mins before I was taken. This place is large but the wait was very long. I'll chalk this up to being NYE and, hold my solid 5 stars. Chloe did my nails and I loved it. She was so pleasant to talk to and did an amazing job on my nails. My gel manicure looks perfect even going into week 2. Zero lifting around the edges. The color selection is crazy large. Sheesh ka bob! I may need to downgrade every review I've written at every nail salon bc this is hands down the best one I've been to for a gel manicure! Picture it, on a Friday evening there were tons of ladies trying to get ready for the Mardi Gras balls. With so many people I actually didn't have to wait that long which speaks to their efficiency and plethora of workers on deck. Unlike the typical nail salon this place has a full house in terms of nail techs doing manicures and pedicures so one doesn't have to wait that long. By the time you use the restroom and pick out your colors from the large display of colors you're ready to sit down! Lynda did an excellent job on my manicure (see my pic). In fact here I am over two weeks later and besides my nail growth the gel manicure has not even chipped! Lynda was very patient when I explained that I needed a color that was neutral (for my workplace) but also not transparent so it could hide my fractured fingernail (don't ask). I kind of wish I could get my nails on a regular basis but alas a mortgage precludes this indulgence. But anytime I have a special occasion I know exactly where I'm going! In fact, the lady next to me drives all the way from Chalmette to Elmwood to get her nails done by her lady. Yeah, now that's some customer loyalty! Happy pampering! read more

I use to come here when I was in high school 7 years ago, remember paying no more than $65 for the same set. I moved out the city and my nail tech charges $52 for design, color, & tips. I went here while in town, when getting back home took my nail tech 2 hours to remove half of the acrylics. 90% sure they used mma. Very gooey & messy to remove. There were many workers and they even had s front desk receptionist who was very pleasant and always smiling. My manicure was very rushed and I think it was because I went right before they were closing. So I get it. But, after only 1 week my gel peeled right off of 3 nails. So, I went back this week to get just a gel polish change. The color options are endless which is great for people who are indecisive like me. But, it cost me $34 for this service. When I don't know what color to get, she always has great suggestions and ideas. The service is wonderful and the ambiance is relaxing. Try to get in during the week, but if you have to go on Saturday, make sure you're in line by 8:30 ish before they open. Otherwise, you'll have to wait a little longer. The salon is nice and updated as well as Very clean. I appreciate their policies on masks and keeping everyone safe. I have gotten my nails done here twice by Yvonne and she is great! Good set of nails and very professional service. I am a little confused by their appointment policy which on the website says one thing but when I called and tried to make an appointment (on Monday) was told it's walk ins. Very confusing. I am ok with either policy but would appreciate some consistency in what I'm told on the phone vs what's online. It is a 25 minute drive for me so I rather not make it unless I have an appointment. read more
