My partner loved elevenB's pizzas when we lived in the East Village. He would order a pie or two once in while. So are his parents who live just two blocks away. As a celebration for his birthday (two weeks ago) and for us getting married, he wanted to gather the family at ElevanB. We ordered a few pies of pizza (some plain and some with meat), baked zitis and garlic breads. I recommend these. I would not recommend the soup though because I think it's from canned soups. Overall, Vincent the owner took care of us. He also recommended BYOBs as an option to save some money. We didn't do it but that was a nice option at 11B if you go host a gathering. I come here with my family for lunch on weekends after football practice and it never disappoints. The food is good, the restaurant is beautiful, and the staff is very friendly. This place has two area, on the corner is the dine in area and then on the side they have a small to go counter. They also have outside seating. They have a bar and they serve wine and beer but no liquor. Will be coming here again. read more

Very cozy spot. I think the TVs they have there should be given historical artifact status-- I don't think they sell them that small anymore. But they were perfect for the ambiance, had football on but wasn't turning the homey-feel into a sports bar. My roommate and I went here and service was fast. I got the arugula salad which was fantastic, the ziti with broccoli not so much... I got it with white sauce, which ended up just being broth/stock. The dish itself tasted fine, just nothing special. But the portions were huge so I'm excited to use the leftovers and remake it my own way. My roommate got the chicken parm and really enjoyed it. We both got cheesecake and that was super good. I live in this neighborhood (for 35 years) and have brought groups to 11B several times (our son's school is a block away.) The owner has been hostile every time, and has grown more combative. He actually yells and picks fights with me. I am not one to argue, ever. It's more than an anger management issue. I can safely say he is a homophobe as he has treated other gay people with hostility. It actually seems like mental illness. I actively discourage anyone from going to 11B. As a gluten-free vegetarian, I was thrilled to stumble on this place with friends. The gluten free pasta is great. They were very nice about answering my questions about what was in the sauces (I ended up having red sauce and broccoli). "Homophobia" is a very serious indictment, it is serious enough to be worthy of looking into. I mean,i anyone can have whatever beliefs they choose but if someone is running a business in my neighborhood they better be cool and keep negativity to themselves. After reading your review we devised a test (chatting with Vincent), they started talking to him and wanted to see if Vincent would be pleasant. The guy also (when given a bonafide chance) sent a drink back (wine "too bitter"), they made sure to report the issue to Vincent himself. As far as the guys themselves, you could definitely tell they were gay; affectionate (not "PDA" level) and one was wearing a kinda loud/flamboyant Commes Des Garcon shirt, a floral pattern. The guy was very friendly, semi-chatty with them even, in fact my friends forgot the test and just enjoyed speaking to him. My friends verdicts were "no apparent homophobia" and "zero out of five on the homophobia scale." As I said above "homophobia" or other such accusations are very serious to publicly proclaim. If the guy didn't actually even actually say anything outwardly homophobic it is bordering (arguably more than bordering) on being libelous. By proclaiming (I'm not questioning it) that you are "gay," you are strongly implying that you have a heightened perception, more experience and better skills at identifying someone who is a "homophobe." It kind of makes the reader (me) feel that you are pretty much "expert in the matter," so if you personally believe it, it must be true. Right? Like I said, I don't know the guy but if you are going to review on Yelp and places in our neighborhood you should hold yourself to a higher standard. I have gone into the express eleven b for pizza several time. Always a great experience. I have a service dog and we went in this last Sunday to just grab a quick slice that takes about 5 minutes to run in and out. I have been in with my dog several times and the owner hasn't said anything. Suddenly I get yelled at that he has too many people to have him in there. Only 3 people and one Uber eats pick up driver. The owner was very hostile and took me aback. I didn't feel the need to go into the fact he is a service dog, scared to receive more hostile response. He gave me a slice but made a scene about us standing in the back. Simply we weren't an issue, and would of just been right up the near the drink and window area causing no problems. If there is a policy say it the first time in there. Secondly I'd happily come back to show you his papers but will be giving my business elsewhere. If he just simply said I'm sorry no dogs I would of understood. Don't let me come in several times and then scream at me about my dog. The Quick: Definition 3.5 stars for me. BYOB (amazing), food is pretty good, atmosphere/decor great, staff is wonderful, location difficult to get to. If you are not planning to drink, I wouldn't bother, but great for boozy night with friends or a date if you're semi close by. The Details: I dined here as part of a large group with a fixed menu. $50 for family-style meal including tax and tip. There was more than enough food to go around which was great. Salad, antipasti, pizza, chicken parm and rigatoni. (Gluten and dairy free options, just ask your waiter). The food was good, nothing to rave about but good. It was BYOB so we brought multiple bottles and had a lovely time. The price seemed a bit much for the food we had, but if we would have paid for drinks it would have been a fortune. Once again, the staff was extremely accommodating, I'd probably have a party here just because I know they'd make sure everything went smoothly. On April 20, 2024, I bought a slice of pizza at 11B pizza. As usual, I took a seat at one of the outdoor tables. No sooner than right after I took my first bite of pizza, one of the owners named Vincent Sgarlato, approached me and told me I could not sit there but did not give me a reason. When I asked him for a reason, he said that was because I only ordered a slice and not a meal. Please note, that from the time of the pandemic when this business added outdoor seating, I would just buy a slice and sit outside unbothered. This was the first time that Vincent told me I cannot sit there and eat my pizza. I was in shock. He pointed to a sign that said something like "tables are for customers only". I was a customer because I paid for the pizza. It was not as if I was loitering and just sat there without buying anything. Neither was I being a nuisance. The sign did not say that customers who only buy a slice cannot sit there nor did it say that the seats were for customers who ordered a big meal. Vincent, you need to learn how to read and write. You should have spent more time in school than trying to impress the gals at the disco. The outdoor seating has never been used for waiter service. Only the indoor seats in the restaurant proper are supposed to be used for waiter service. Vincent lied and said that the outdoor seating had waiter service. Vincent started to become very belligerent and behaved in a threatening manner. He yelled that he was the boss and it was his business and started to wave his hands in my face. When I told him to keep an arms distance from me, he yelled and said "that is why I hate you people". He also accused me of being "woke". I am not "woke". Even if I were "woke", that should not have mattered. I believe Vincent really wanted to fight me. He was saying things, like "yo, you think you so tough". Mind you, I am an older woman with a disability and barely 5'2" when I stand up straight. Sure, I'm from Brooklyn too and stand up for myself. However, I did not get nasty until he got nasty with me. It doesn't matter, Vincent is still a bully and a coward. I have witnessed him bully disabled or elderly people. He would never fight a real man because he is a coward. He is pretty much nasty to anyone he believes is beneath him in looks or social standing. Which is a joke because he is uneducated and uncouth. In the looks department he looks like one of those guys who try to dye their own hair and hang out at mixers with women who can be his daughter. He just got lucky in life to inherit his family business which he is running into the ground. His actions towards me were pure targeted discrimination because there were two other tables of young white women who did not order anything but Vincent did not ask them to leave. I have patronized this business for the last 5 years and supported them through the pandemic and this is how he treats a loyal customer. I have heard from other people and read Yelp and Google reviews that Vincent and his brother were racist, homophobic, ageist, and also violated ADA laws. Vincent and his family are really nasty people. Vincent's unhinged behavior during this exchange caused customers to leave without ordering. This guy deserves to go out of business. Response to Vincent's response: Vincent, your sign only said "for customers only". There were no signs that indicated that the tables were reserved. If I bought a slice of pizza, then I qualify as a customer. You know very well that you are the one who became belligerent first and I was forced to defend myself. You also know full well that yesterday was the first time that you took issue with me sitting outside. You also lied when you said that I refused to leave. I got up to leave as soon as you started yelling at me to leave. It is disgraceful how you treat a customer who supported you during the pandemic when so many businesses were forced to close. Strolled across this place one night with some friends. I have to say we weren't very impressed. The atmosphere is cute, menu seemed to have good options, but the food was mediocre and service wasn't great. We had Cold Antipasto to start. Pretty good deli meats, veggies, cheese. A little hard to mess up! For meals I had a Chicken Caesar salad, couldn't say it was anything out of this world. The pizza was about average and the burgers were very disappointing. I wouldn't recommend ordering a burger here- very small patty compared to the bun and lacked flavor. The Cheese Ravioli had good reviews from my friend though! The feel is very rustic and has an old school charm. The restaurant is BYOB which is great especially for large parties or special celebrations. Service isn't rushed either so bring lots of alcohol and enjoy a long dinner and catch-up. The service was also great with the servers being attentive, friendly, even going to extra mile to keep our champagne on ice. The Italian food was also decent with a fair price range. I've been to Eleven B a few times and the food was just as good as I remembered! This is the type of restaurant where you want to bring a big group of your loudest friends and have a party! It's BYOB with a small corkage fee, but honestly worth it. They bring you a bucket of ice for your wine - really excellent. This time I shared the cheesy garlic bread which is a hero stuffed with cheese and garlic (amazing.) I also shared the chicken parm and pizza, both of which were great and huge portions. The only downside to the restaurant in the service. While the owner was incredibly friendly and accommodating, I had to ask for the check countless time. We ordered the cheese pizza (which we tailored to make it a margarita by adding basil), meatball hero, and Caesar salad. The pizza was very good. Crispy crust and fresh mozzarella always are a win for me. However, the Caesar salad was extremely lacking in flavor. It came already dressed, but had barely anything in it but lettuce and Parmesan cheese. It left a lot to be desired.
