After the remodeling, hot air would come out whenever I turn on the AC. I contacted several hvac companies for diagnosis and repair. A different company came by and quoted me $2500, which involved changing parts in the condenser/compressor, wiring, and other things that I didn't really understand. I decided to get a second opinion with Elim Hvac. Pedro came, diagnosed, and resolved the problem within minutes! I could tell he knows his stuff, as he was explaining what he did to fix the issue. Kudos to Elim for their unbeatable customer service and friendly staff and technicians! Recently, I emailed them about a concern with the wiring to one of the force air unit's circuit breakers not being color-coded. They responded promptly, scheduling a technician to investigate. The communication was excellent throughout. I received text reminders when the service was scheduled, including the name of the service technician, and an update when the technician was en route to the property. After completing the job, the technician called me to explain his findings: the connection to the heat pump was proper, and the non-color-coded wires were due to existing wiring being used, as the new heat pump required a higher amp capacity. The technician also replaced the extremely dirty air filter. Impressively, Elim handled this issue at no cost, even though the HVAC unit was replaced two years ago. A big thank you to the owner, staff, and technician for exceptional service - they truly deserve recognition! I had promblems with my heating system. I couple of different companies came and gave me different assessments and wanted me to install a new system. Then I asked Elim for an opinion. Marco came and gave me a very honest asessment of the problem. I cold tell he was very knowledgable and advised me to wait a few months until the systems that use the new refrigerant in California are in the market. ELIM HVAC was amazing - great customer service and honest work. We had a refrigerant leak as our system was around 20 years old. We tried refilling the machine with new refrigerant and sealant, but that didn't solve the problem so we decided to replace the system. The technicians were very professional, covering the worksite to prevent any damage and wearing booties over their shoes. Both technicians were very patient and explained everything to my girlfriend during each encounter. They didn't take advantage of her or try to sell her lies, which I appreciated, as I am familiar with HVAC systems. Customer service was top-notch!!!! We had to reschedule multiple times due to scheduling conflicts. I couldn't meet up with ELIM HVAC's technician, so my girlfriend did, but I provided them with the wrong date. ELIM HVAC didn't give us any attitude and was very understanding about the hiccup. Additionally, I did a lot of due diligence and even requested ELIM HVAC to change the system to a different model #. Again, ELIM HVAC didn't give us attitude or any problems. When you replace an entire HVAC system, you want to do it right since it's a huge financial investment. Elizabeth and Lily were extremely nice and patient, answering all our questions through both emails and phone calls. They didn't sound annoyed at all. Not enough credit goes to the front office. My girlfriend stuck with them mainly because of the excellent customer service, even though she had other options, such as a family friend. If you're thinking of replacing or fixing your air conditioner, just do it! I am so grateful that I called Elim HVAC when I did. Our air conditioning broke down for my daughter's first bday in June... so a house full of guests in sweaty heat... gross. After suffering for a few days and expecting my husband to fix the problem, I finally gave in and called a few of the air conditioning repair shops in Downey. Well, you can do the research for yourself- Elim HVAC was the cheapest and fastest. (I won't mention other business names here, you can call and see for yourself). We told Elim HVAC what happened to our air and right away they knew what was wrong. They sent out a repair guy the next day and fixed the problem. I think they charge a "visit fee" kind of thing, but if you go with their services, they take that fee and put it towards the cost, so it was super cheap. Because we already told them the problem, the guy brought the part and it was fixed in 30 minutes. Flash forward a few weeks later and we're having the rolling blackouts. When my house had a rolling black out, it messed up the air conditioner again. I called Elim HVAC back and they were able to send out someone within 2 days. They suggested a new system which at first we were hesitant about. The new system was going to cost us over $4,000... which sounds like a lot... until again, you do research. I have a cousin that works in air conditioning up North. We called him and told him the price and he told us that that's what the unit ALONE costs him to buy, so he didn't understand how they could charge so cheap for the system and installation. We went to Costco also to check on their air conditioning and installation prices- easily double the price. It was a no brainer- we had to get the system as soon as possible before the company realized what idiots we were and didn't want to do business with us. Wow! Thank goodness we got the air when we did, yesterday the over 100 degree day felt a bit chilly in our house due to our new air conditioning system (not trying to rub it in, just the truth). We are so grateful for Elim HVAC. They are a very honest company (very important to us) that did not take advantage if us and were incredibly professional (arrived on time with all parts and sent two installation guys). I recommend you talk to Lily- she's the best. If we had questions, she would answer them promptly. She set up all of our appointments. She even sent someone a few days later to check on how our air is working. She's so awesome Now, here's what I would want to know if I were you: Price... Depends on the system you get (name brand vs generic) Size of system... we got a 4 ton (1500 foot house) vs 5 ton (bigger house, how much bigger, I don't know...) I felt Elim HVAC was the most honest and straightforward. Their bid was also fair priced. They were polite and worked cleanly and efficiently . I was pleased that they covered my wood floors prior to removing my old furnace and installing the new one. I was very impressed that they took the time to insulate the closet before installing the new furnace. It really looks professional. None of the other companies offered to do this. Beyond 5 stars.....my AC would not turn on and I was desperate for same day service. Get this: Marco called me within minutes of messaging and helped me trouble shoot over the phone. Once he had an idea of the issue, he said it was a simple fix and hopped on a video call to walk me through it. I had to run to Home Depot for a tool. He told me what to get, and jumped back on video to walk me through finishing the job. Long story short, got my AC back up within and hour, and he wouldn't take any payment- just being a good human! Elim AC may be a good company based on other reviews. But first impressions in my opinion are key. The guy that showed up should of been wearing a clown costume. No ladder, no briefcase, no paperwork to write up a quote, and gave me a ballpark estimate of $4,500 without measuring anything for new ducting. He was initially scheduled 8-10am but the office rescheduled for 10-12pm which I was ok with and appreciated the call but the clown did not show up til almost 2pm. We have a central A/C system that is old and inefficient so we decided to install a mini split in our master bedroom. However, I had trouble getting a contractor with mini split A/C expertise and my local AC guy wouldn't do it as he works by himself. I learned that Mitsubishi is the leading mini split manufacturer so I went to their website for certified installers in our area. I found ELIM HVAC and arranged for a free estimate. Marco was on time for our noon appointment. He was dressed neatly in a uniform and very professional. He also had a pair of shoe protectors when he entered our home. It's a first among the estimators we contacted. As an Asian, we don't wear outside shoes in the house so this gesture is much appreciated. I showed Marco our bedroom and where to install the unit. He explained the installation process and was very knowledgeable in mini split installation. We agreed on the many points he suggested and promised to submit an estimate ASAP. At 3 pm on the same day, Noemi Lopez called to follow up on the estimate. My wife and I reviewed the estimate, liked the number and their Yelp reviews. At 4:30 pm, I signed the contract, paid down payment and scheduled the install in 2 days. At 8am, Friday morning, the brother team of Eber and Warner arrived and went to work. Installation was quick and fast and I witnessed that they are well versed in doing this work. Installation was finished in one day in a quality and professional manner. I called Noemi at 4 pm to advise that work was finished and I settled the account. That night, 2 days after I first contacted them, my wife and I slept very soundly in a 69°F temperature bedroom at the height of summer. Had another issue and they came out to take a look. Techs acknowledged there was a problem and the unit needed to be serviced. They then left in a hurry and said they'd come back with the equipment and complete the service once I was scheduled again. I was disappointed that they couldn't service the units at that time but I understand their situation. After bugging the office a few times to get scheduled I get an email several hours later that says the units need to be serviced but they don't have the recovery equipment available and they don't know when they will. They refuse to schedule me for this reason. I find it difficult to understand how an HVAC company wouldn't have recovery equipment since this is an incredibly routine service. I was also charged $200 since they said they looked at both units; however, they only looked at one. One star back for their front desk knocking the charge back to $100. I regret having to change the rating but this last visit was a waste of time for all parties. read more

He looked at my central air conditioning system and determined our compressor was fine but the return was making the blower work too hard. The AC went out and I didn't really know who to call. I looked at Yelp and the reviews and found Elim HVAC. I called and had them come out to do a diagnostic check on my HVAC. The blower motor went out. Alex, the tech, that diagnosed the HVAC did a great job of explaining what would contribute to the blower motor going out. HVAC is under parts warranty with Lennox so Elim submitted the request for the warranty to cover the part. Lennox needed proof of sale and who really keeps that lying around after 6 years, right? Well luckily I did- lol because without proof of sale that $1200 part would have come out of pocket. Elim did an absolute awesome job keeping me updated every step of the way- thanks Claudia! I really didn't have to do any type of follow up. The blower motor was approved and Claudia kept me updated as to when the part is scheduled to arrive. Once part arrived Claudia called me to set up a day/time to install the part. Part was installed and HVAC is working. Alex gave me some suggestions. For all of you who use a Merv16 Carbon Filter be careful. The more obstructed the airflow is the harder the blower motor has to work. I had the vent filter, the Merv16 carbon filter, and the UV light going so the blower motor had to work harder to get the air past all those obstacles. I removed the Merv16 filter (since that's the thickest filter money can buy) so I'm hoping the HVAC runs at optimal level and I just have to remember to change out the vent filter every month going forward. Great experience overall, I definitely recommend Elim HVAC. read more

We were complete novices when we decided to install a split HVAC system. We contacted four companies, one of which no showed, two others which gave estimates but eventually selected ELIM. Their rate was so significantly lower than the others, we were actually suspicious. We couldn't be more pleased. They were confident in their selection of our equipment, responsive within a half hour to each communication we made, left the house actually cleaner than they found it, were courteous and professional throughout the entire process and we're more than willing to meet our ridiculously tight time frame. From initial call to training us on the thermostat...less than six days. Each person who came to the house was prepared, flexible, knowledge and courteous. They worked well with each other and with no delays, were able to successfully troubleshoot the inevitable surprises older homes present. . Two months later, we decided we needed a different type of thermostat. Within three hours, they were at the house, making the changes we needed, at no cost. Eddie was very thorough and answered all of my questions before starting the work. They did an awesome job during installation. A couple of things really stood out: first, the ultra low nox furnace was troublesome during operation, but Elim sent specialists that made it right; second, during the city permit inspections, Marco and Norma coordinated to get the corrections done properly and passed the final inspection. I think these guys are professional and prompt, and these are the reasons why: 1) Elim was prompt with their replies to my inquiries via yelp. 2) I was able to schedule an estimate appt easily. I was given a 2 hr window initially BUT later was given a 15 min window, which, to my surprise, was KEPT!! Talk about customer satisfaction! Marco came by to give me an estimate of the project (ac install). He didn't try to up-sell me, which was nice. 3) Lilian followed up with me the next day and I learned they had sent the estimate to a wrong email address. It was sorted out and I received the estimate, which was pretty competitive and reasonable. 4) Again, the Elim guys were on time and immediately went to set up their work areas with cloths and etc. The project was finished earlier than promised (by 2 hrs) and the work was completed with no issues. Clean job! 5) I forgot to ask for a receipt but they emailed me one anyway and when I asked for a pic of the install in the attic, I received it within 1 day.
