Yelp, Southwest did install the AC in our home and the review is accurate. When we started looking into getting central air installed we got 5 estimates. The first two estimates from Home depot and Lowes were sky high. We started looking into the companies who specialize in HVAC and found one in Yelp that was lower but still not low enough based on our opinion. Then we called Southwest. Julio came and gave a very good presentation and gave us an offer that was low. Then I asked him if he could beat the offer of the lowest estimate we received. He did and we ended up with the best offer which included cost and warranty so we gave him the job. In the summer of 2012 our house with windows open and fans blowing would get around 95 degrees especially in the kitchen cooking dinner so we really needed central air. Julio sent two workers who were at Journeymen level of experience. They went step by step cutting the vent holes, installing ducts, cutting the return air hole, enlarging the access hole and framing it then installing all ducts and heating and air conditioning components in the attic and outside. These guys knew what they were doing as if they had done this a thousand times and in their sleep. The only minor issue I had was when they removed the old wall heater they put wall bracing to brace the wall board which made it difficult to line up the new wallboard to the existing wallboard. As a result they didn't match perfectly and I had to use a little extra putty to smooth it out. A better way to do it would have been to cut the wallboard to about half the wall stud and attach the new wallboard to existing wall studs. Most other HVAC companies will not do the wallboard and you have to hire wallboard specialists. But as I said a little extra putty smoothed it out. These guys did a tremendous amount of work installing all the components (Ducts, heater, AC, Plumbing, and Electrical) in just three days and when they turned it on it was very powerful but very quiet. I have to look at the indoor plant below the vent and see if the leaves are moving to see if the AC has turned on. The AC cools down the house very quickly. We also had permits for the AC and the only issue with the city inspector was a small amount of sealant outside where the coolant lines go up to the attic in an enclosed cover. That was it. We have been using the AC pretty much every day with no problem. We turned on the heater to test it once and it worked good. Regarding our electric bill its about $80.00 with heavy AC use. Our electric bill was normally about $45 in the summer months. I installed 5 led lights in the house to help compensate and lower the cost so I don't know how much that helped. Our AC is an Amana 14 sear so I'm sure that accounts for some efficiency. My wife and I had never thought about installing a central air unit at our home before till the weather during summer gets hotter and hotter for this past few years. So, in October of this year we decided to install one. First I did call one of the company for them to come in to check and give us a quote, but the guy didn't really explained much rather he just gave us a quote, and left. then I call the next guy to come in, and he did explained something to me, but he cut short to explain about what kind and size of the air conditioning and furnace unit that would have a correct and enough capacity since my home is a two story home. He encourage me to give him a deal since he gives me a good price before he left. The next day, I went back on line and I happened to come across Southwest HVAC and I started to read their online reviews. I told my wife we have to call this company, and that I did. The young lady with a friendly voice on the other line spoke to me briefly and she arranged my appointment afterward. There's a gentleman came to my home and introduced himself as Tommy. So, I invited him to come in and he started to asked me a few questions before he explained to me. Tommy had explained to me exactly what any other customers would want to hear from a sale man. He took his times to explain to me step by step of how and why I should need to replace the entire unit including my old under capacity furnace in the attic than to just install the air conditioning unit outside my home. It's after I went through Tommy's explanation when I realize that this company is legit and professional. Tommy gave me a price and ask me to think about it rather than tried to sell it. I told him I will consult with my wife and will get back to him soon. The deal was made afterward and the date to start the work had been set. He sent 3 of his staffs to install all units and took them less than two days to complete the job. These guys were very friendly and professional from the start to finish. These guys were very very good at what they do and they leave no mess after they left. I have my air conditioning and heating on since they left my home and my wife and I love every bit of it. It feel fantastic to have an air conditioning for the first time after we move in 25 years ago. in june of 2016 i called southwest for a quote to install a new ac and heating to my house. the rep for the quote was Tommy. He Explained the entire process to us. we know nothing about ac or heating. he explained the differences between all the makes and the difference between all the units. He made us feel real comfortable and at ease about the process. we had a few quotes prior to Tommy arriving. He was the only one who explained which unit is best and why. His attention to detail was refreshing and his design was on point for our home. That is the reason we decided to go with Southwest over all the other companies. once we agreed on an installation date Tommy took care of everything. He handled the permit, the installers and completing the entire process. The crew that came on the first day was great. The crew and Tommy showed us every thing that was going to be done to the house. they were detailed and very thoughtful of our needs. the crew did an incredible job. they were very clean and neat with the work. they finished the job on time and as planned. once the work was completed and we had a great ac system we got another surprise. within days of finishing work, Tommy came by to our house and we reviewed the entire unit. i was pleasantly surprised to see the rep of a company coming after the work was done to see if we were happy. not only are we happy with Southwest but we will recommend them and Tommy to all of our friends. read more

Back in 2003 we had a Trane furnace installed by a company contracted by Home Depot. They didn't put in a filter and we thought that was odd at the time. The unit they replaced had a filter. Well, 13 years latter, when the furnace stopped working, we realized the filter was a very good thing to have. Rather than try to fix a furnace that had been installed incorrectly (and the great guys at Southwest HVAC tried REALLY hard to fix it), we decided to have a new unit put in by a group of people who did an amazing job. I knew these young men were top of the class when they came to the door with 2 big drop cloths. Not only did they peel away the nasty dirty cotton candy insulation, they replaced it with a beautiful silver bubble wrap that makes our heating closet look like a mint. Our unit required an intake from the top with warm air output at the bottom. They had to build in a space for a FILTER above the unit. They worked ALL DAY to get the unit installed and up and running. They were not going to leave until we had a warm house. After everything checked out perfectly, they rehung the door to the heater closet and cleaned up the work area. I could NOT believe how professional, polite and gosh darn nice they were. Albert was great to work with and we now have a unit that should last us longer than 13 years. I would recommend this company to anyone in the South Bay. They are world class. read more

Seriously, if you are shopping for a new unit or in need for service stop looking. These guys are great, and go above and beyond to make sure everything goes well. A week or so ago our heater went out, and we knew it was on its last legs where a repair wouldn't be appropriate. Southwest came highly recommended from on of my friends who have used them for the past three years. Angel was my contact, and this guy was great. Angel was extremely detailed with what he recommended and how we could make minor changes to improve everything overall. Pricing was fair and competitive, but the warranties and service added a lot of value. Then he and his team, Alex, Eduardo, and Miguel showed up the following day with everything needed to complete the removal of the system, establish new ducts, and installing the new system. These guys were fast, friendly, and professional...what else can you ask for. We did run into a minor issue at night on the first day of the units installation. The heater stopped blowing warm air, and we decided to call angel regarding the issue. It was a Saturday night, at 8:30 pm and Angel said no problem I am sending a tech to come out and fix it right away. 10 minutes later Johnny shows up, and with a matter of a few minutes he as able to diagnose the issues and get us up and running. We had a terrific experience with the entire Southwest HVAC team. Tommy arrived to discuss our options and gave us a quote for a complete heating and air conditioning installation. Importantly he took all the time we needed to understand the various options, walk through the house to discuss initial vent placement ideas and stressed the quality and thoroughness of the work they guarantee. It turned out that the actual installation by Alex and Omar not only met but exceeded Tommy and our expectations. Alex and Omar had reserved four days for the installation. On day three they faced pouring rain but had planned all the outside work to be completed days one and two in anticipation of the weather. They actually finished by noon on day four in spite of the rain. We had decided to leave the existing wall heater in and both the new system and wall heater worked perfectly for two days when unexpectedly the wall heater would not come on and the pilot light wouldn't light. We called Southwest and Fabian arrived within a few hours. He cleaned the pilot light ignition parts and relit the pilot light. He felt that the strong winds we had been having blew out the pilot light as the front door, which is close to the heater, was opened and closed. Waiting for the cold weather Our cold weather has become unbearable for me. While reasearching my options for heat I came across Southwest HVAC. I received a quote and purchased 2 Daikin Endura mini split units. All the installers were polite and enjoyable to have in my home. The customer service team answered my questions and forwarded messages to my sales person (Alberto) as needed. I met the owner of the company, Julio, a very nice, knowledgeable man who prides himself and his company on quality and service. Unfortunately, we had a few hiccups along the way. I think Southwest HVAC struggled to understand the requirements of my HOA and the contract to work here as a vendor. My salesman didn't communicate well with my contractor, who was doing other work for me at the same time, or the installers which caused delays and added expense to their budget. Fortunately, the hiccups have been overcome and I'm positive things will go much smoother on their next job in my complex. We've had such a mild Summer this year that I haven't had an opportunity to use my new heat pumps. For the first time I'm looking forward to the Winter and keeping warm and toasty. Bottom line is, there always seems to be hiccups when doing construction. These were resolved and I would refer Southwest HVAC to my friends and neighbors. read more

Well to start with as a retired general Contractor from Las Vegas I have Great insight to bad, good and Great subcontractors. I just finished my business dealings with Southwest installing a ductless system on a beach house in Hermosa Beach. The picture of the unit they removed is actually on the front of this Yelp page. Rusted old roof top. They not only did what was ask but when things looked a little concerning as they always do with unknowns in construction, they went out of their way to make sure the job was done, done right and on time. Albert, Fabian plus the eight or so other technicians were extremely polite, hard focused workers and professional every step of the way. If I had subcontractors like Southwest on my jobs in Vegas my life and business would have been a lot easier. I CANNOT POSSIBLY EXPRESS HOW HAPPY AND IMPRESSED I WAS THEM. Forgive me his name slips me at the moment but The General Manager even made an excellent effort to check in with me and see if I was happy and taken care of. I have been meaning to write a review for sometime but just got reminded today to do it. I'll get to that in a second. 1. We got a few quotes and Angel was very thorough and professional and gave us some options. Another company offered to beat the price but we just weren't convinced it would be the same equipment and the same warranty and we believed we would be in better hands with Southwest HVAC. 2. The installers were on time, polite, professional and did a very nice job and cleaned up. They were respectful of our home. 3. Service calls: To be honest, we have had some trouble with our furnace and getting it fine tuned. BUT....they have been very responsive in addressing the issue and going to great lengths to troubleshoot and correct the problem. It has had some issues during some very unusual cold spells in Southern California and they have come out right away. They have not brushed us off and leave us without heat. They stand by their product, workmanship, and their customer service. There is a very good reason they have good reviews on Yelp. I hope and I am confident our furnace fine tuning will be corrected but most importantly, I am thankful for their professionalism and customer service. Kuddos to Elmet, Alex and Erik whose optimally completed the agreed job (uninstallation of old HVAC system and Installation of new Daikin HVAC system; ducts, attic lighting and vents replacement; walls and ceiling surrounding's detailing and cleaning) within 3 days. The crew also took care of taking all old materials (you have nothing to worry about with these folks). The field installation supervisor (Erwin) and field Project manager (Luis Sanchez) were super resolutive, kind, listened to our needs and stopped by everyday (even after completed installation) ensuring the delivery of a great job! We couldn't be more happy to have picked this HVAC GC! Pricing is the average in the area and if you don't have the funding to pay cash, it is possible to do it within a year without interest rate. The equipment we picked is already saving us 23% of electricity - compared to the old system- which was one of the goals and I have to mention that this system is not using gas! My A/C was not functioning properly and needed repair. Unfortunately I was on a Budget didn't know who to call. So I Yelp.. Found one company they came out but to much $ and fell they were not honest and just wanted my money. Yelp.. again came across Southwest HVAC 5 stars and amazing reviews. Decided to call them and schedule an App. The Technician Hector came to my home. Hector was very upfront- He explained everything in detail. Gave me an estimate on how much it will cost me. Still was a little over my Budget. Hector really wanted to help me out. He got on the phone with Julio his supervisor. He was able to not only save me money but stay under my Budget. In one word Hector was Awesome! Best customer service by far 100%. Very nice guy and knows his stuff! He respected my home by wearing shoe covers (: He was polite , helpful,efficient. Hello, I employed Southwest HVAC to remove our old furnace and to replace it with a new one. I got Southwest HVAC's number from the Trane website. Their representative Julio came and gave me several options. I could install the new furnace where the old one is, move it into the attic,and replace all the old asbestosis air ducts or leave those old air ducts. Julio gave me prices for each individual step. I could pick and choose which direction to take. The prices he provided were in number prices and there would be no surprises. I chose to do the whole job moving the furnace into the attic and replacing air ducts. My wife and I were extremely happy with the new furnace in attic. I had to hang some strings in front of the air vents to know that the furnace was running. It is that quiet. We are extremely happy with the results. We got bids from another contractor to do the same job and their bid was about $20 more than Southwest HVAC. So I knew we were getting a good price. I highly recommend Southwest HVAC to handle your heating and cooling. read more
