I have an older home in Norwalk that has gas wall heaters. These heaters have need shot off for several years and in preparation of selling the home I was looking for a company to come out to evaluate/fix/service them to ensure they safely work. After reaching out for this service, I received contact from several companies, most of whom never responded directly to the job and questions I posted in the request. Even after asking them again about specifics on my equipment type, age, and whether the parts were accessible most stick with the generic that it will cost $ for a tech to come out. Metric HVAC was different, they read what was written, answered all questions, and provided a reasonable tech cost to check out the system. He quickly determined the problem and fixed it within an hour...and his total cost was amazing (even cheaper than some of the tech inspection fees that were offered on my initial request. The service tech, Jonathan, was great. He was professional and mindful of my wife's idiosyncrasies about the house. He did a great job cleaning and servicing the mini-split we have in the bedroom. I couldn't be happier with Jonathan. I knew that the system needed to be recharged with coolant. That part of the price was not disclosed in advance, and it was quite pricey - $120 a pound. But it needed to be done and we wanted the bedroom a/c to work. So there it is. Jonathan was open about the cost when he concluded the system needed recharging. The reasons for rating are both the hidden cost of the coolant and a couple of issues with scheduling on Yelp. But the overall experience was very good, mostly because of Jonathan. read more

I've actually waited more than two years from the original installation of four furnaces to write this review. So my review not only covers the initial installation but the ongoing operation of the furnaces, and the follow-up service---the latter two probably being more important than the installation. Pricing was good---they weren't the very lowest or the highest. But they were willing to do a difficult installation in the basement, where others wanted to put furnaces in the attic, which would have made servicing much more difficult. They addressed all my installation concerns. Anyway, install turned out to be great. And, when I had problems with some of the units, Metric responded quickly and helpfully. They stood behind their work, and have tried to make sure that I continued to be a happy customer. There are a lot of hvac companies, and many with far more reviews---legit and otherwise---than Metric. But I found that you don't need the biggest company or the one with the most reviews to get the product and service that you need. Metric HVAC did an excellent job with our new American Standard heat pump + new ductwork installation. Pricing was really good for our top of the line unit and service was even better. They were super responsive with any requests I had, and we even had the roof replaced after the installation and they came back out twice to inspect and do any repair work they needed to do in case the roofers messed up anything. Hector, the owner, really cares about doing a good job for his clients and spent the extra time to make sure his team cleaned up everything to leave our home as clean as possible. Hector is a true professional (2nd time I use him). He really understands customer needs. I'm very particular on what I want. Hector listened and really tried to provide me with an ultra low NOX furnace with VFD and 2 stage heat, per my request, but ultimately he helped me see the value in a better heat pump option. FYI... ultra low nox is for parts of CA and they are loud and not reliable. Hector and his team led by Jose and Caesar, supported by Rene and Oscar, did a quality complete system and full ductwork replacement/ installation. Always on time, clean, detailed, efficient and courteous. Full system replacements are not cheap. However, I went with a high end american standard platinum heat pump system and feel I got a great value. My previous gas furnace sounded like a combo tornado and jet engine (not quite but was very loud). New system with variable blower and compressor is smooth as butter.. so quiet with great balanced temperature and airflow. I do have one main return and individual ducted room return for context. To make it an all around great customer experience, Liz from the office is very responsive and communicates effectively with utmost professionalism. Metric also installed a mini split in my garage. issue is with scheduling. When I first called they wanted to schedule me for Jan 1, and I said are you sure you're open on the first? and they then realized their mistake and said the 2nd from 8-10am. no mention was made that they wouldn't come if we didn't re-confirm a few days later on the day of the appointment. I called on behalf of my parents since I was in town so it was critical to come on this day. 10am comes and no one showed up. I call, answering service picks up and says they'll research what happened and get back to me. they call a few minutes later and said someone had called and no one picked up. perhaps they called back my parents who didn't have their phone on them but they had my phone and would it really hurt to actually go to the place which is 15m from their office? read more

Wow..what a terrific job that Hector has done in fixing my heating system. I have an old Rheem Criterion unit that didn't work and been recommended by other HVAC companies ranging from replacing the unit (which runs around $4,700) to replacing control board (cost $1,500)! Hector did some tests on the wiring and found the loose wire as the root caused of the problem. He fixed it and my diagnostic fee would covered for the whole thing! What a way to start to new year! I highly recommend this company for its professionalism, quick response (in one day) and honesty (which is extremely valuable, now a day)! read more

Luis is a real one! He is so nice and knowledgeable about AC's. He explained what was wrong with our AC, and fixed it THE NEXT DAY. The prices were extremely reasonable, and the repair was fast! I was very happy and impressed with the service. My HVAC thermostat shorted out with no warning. I called different HVAC companies but couldn't get out till middle of next month. Metric HAVAC was able to get to within a week. He spent time troubleshooting and replacing devices that had been shorted out. Really spent time working and in the end was very reasonable price wise. Had my AC go out during the summer and they got me all set up for a compressor swap. My AC was installed in 2017 and unfortunately I never registered the product online for the warranty. They looked up the model and serial number, found out the compressor is still under warranty. They started the paperwork for the replacement (Liz was my point of contact) and took care of everything. A week ago I hired Metric to install a new downstairs air conditioning unit after I interviewed half a dozen of contractors. Oh my goodness I am blown away by this company! I called about five different companies to come out to fix my nest heating system because I did know what was wrong but I wasn't getting power and it was pretty darn cold! This company was the only company available the next day, and there was such a personal touch in the way I was communicated with. The two gentlemen came promptly when they said they would, we're gentlemen the entire time, always kept their shoes covered with little booties and then took them off when they went outside, lol :-) They were so thorough and kept checking that the heating was still working after they fixed something. When a complication came up and the heating wasn't working because there was another issue, they stayed and stayed and stayed until the job was fully done. I feel so taking care of and I can't recommend them highly enough!!! Oh and let me not forget that their prices were the most reasonable around town! That is another reason I feel so comfortable referring them. I don't feel like they gouge you and they feel like you know a small business. Like a real people.
