Next thing I know I show up and there was a rail attached to the house and enclosing the porch. I ask Dad when did you have this done ? Dad proceeded to tell me that the owner of Affordable Family Care Services showed up with his son and father and they installed railing all around the porch. Her business is listed as A Family Friend, LLC or A Family Friend Home Care. I strongly urge that you do your research and go with a well-established, seasoned company. ESPECIALLY, if you are out of town. Here are the reasons why you SHOULD NOT use, Kimble Breazell-Clark and her home health care agency. 1. Kimble does NOT do much paperwork with regards to completing tasks for Long Term Care Insurance if that will be your source of payment. It has been a constant headache in trying to get her to successfully complete necessary documents for paid benefits. 2. Kimble, does not fill the weekly/monthly pill boxes correctly for my mother as witnessed. In addition, medication was not distributed between the a.m. or p.m. correctly according to the bottle's instructions but rather randomly. One med that was to be given once a day was given twice. The bottle specifically said once a day. Also, she does not want to make copies or mail receipts to validate purchases made against your card on file or for her to invoice. 3. Mommy has complained that she hadn't felt well or she complained that she had ongoing eye issues. Her complaints fell on deaf ears as Kimble did not respond by always scheduling an appointment for an in-person or telemedicine visit when needed. This was a service that was supposed to be provided according to the top tier package that was chosen. 4. Also, communication tapered off to becoming almost non-existent between Kimble and myself, my mother's legal representative/advocate. 5. Kimble's business has a high turnover rate with staff. Several staff members shared how she bad-mouthed the client, client's family, and even staff members. We worked with 5+ staff members in 9 months. Consistent care from the same caregiver is essential for the client. This fact did not matter. Kimble assigned aids without matching them to clients based on personality, interests, etc. 6. No shows or staff didn't always complete their shifts (Bessie). So, beware of the possibility of abandonment of your loved one. 7. The activities that Kimble's aids did on a non-consistent basis appeared to be done for the purposes of photo opportunities for advertising your company. I had asked over and over to see the list of activities that she supposedly had for my mother to be physically engaged and mentally stimulated. Kimble was never able to produce a list. This was key to one of the reasons why the hours were increased being that Mommy has dementia and companionship that was engaging was so important. 8. The key to my mom's house according to her neighbors was left VISIBLE and easily ACCESSIBLE to strangers. This is not a safe circumstance for anyone in 2020, but especially a client who is elderly and/or sickly. 9. Although we are in a pandemic it was not clear what Kimble's protocols and procedures were in order to protect elderly clients. I never got a satisfactory answer. In one instance, an eye witness saw Kimble walk into the home and begin to fill the pill pack without washing her hands or wearing gloves putting my mom an elderly, dementia patient in harm's way in her own home. 10. Kimble posted a video on her company's Facebook page. My mother specifically shared with Kimble (in front of her neighbor as a witness) that she did not want to be used publicly in any manner for A Family Friend, LLC or A Family Friend Home Care. In addition, Kimble took a review from Facebook that I initially wrote a month after working with her company, and placed it on her company's website without my permission. This only came to my realization last week....months after I had deleted the post from Facebook due to my frustration and dissatisfaction with her service. She never asked me for my permission to use me as a marketing tool for her business. She refuses to remove it. Terrible experience!

I didn't know what to expect during the first two PT rounds and I felt they were ok. This time, I'm working with two physical therapists and they're both absolutely great. I started PT on the fourth day after my right knee total replacement surgery. They paid attention to my condition and progress. They've been gently and steadily increasing the level. I feel challenged but not painful. I'm recovering much faster and stronger than the previous times. The facility is also nice; spacious and well equipped. Thank you, K & N.

TERRIBLE BILLING PRACTICES!!!!…read more One of the first bills I received was shockingly high (It was the first bill we received after 7-8 months of services). I went through the line items and found that they billed me for a service that my son was not receiving. I reached out to the billing department and they acknowledged that there was a billing error and corrected the bill. We switched providers because they were unable to provide services at my son's school. Several months after discontinuing services we received a bill from them for several random dates of service from the past. We expressed our frustration with the delayed bill in September and thought that our account was settled then. To our astonishment, we just received another bill for services rendered 11 MONTHS AGO! My household receives bills from dozens of different providers. These bills arrive within ~30 days of services rendered with the only exception being Raleigh Therapy Services. When billing is delayed by so long it makes it difficult for personal accounting and creates stress and anxiety because amongst several recent medical bills, it is an unexpected expense. I had to spend the entire day yesterday combing through records from RTS and my insurance company to try to understand why I was receiving a claim 11 months after services were rendered and to try to understand if I would be receiving any future bills (which there are still 2 more claims that haven't been processed). I have worked as a health care provider billing insurance for medical services as well as my current position at a medical software billing company. I understand that insurance issues can be very frustrating and sometimes take several phone calls to resolve. The provider we switched to, K&M Therapeutics, billed for the same service (plus a new one) and we received bills monthly starting 30 days from service and they were billing the same insurance companies. It seems like they need to hire an adjudication claims specialist to have someone dedicated to trouble shooting these issues so that they can be resolved in a timely manner. My son really liked the therapists at RTS..... this is just a billing inefficiency issue leading to a poor customer experience. I believe it can be fixed if they want to put the effort into trying to.

But at first I was put off and a bit nervous about having chosen this medical office. The decor of the office is outdated and just made me feel like I was about to receive outdated healthcare. The registration forms almost made me runaway. I work in implementation of electronic health records for a living, so the fact that they are fully on paper record made me cringe. One of the forms to sign states that there is $25 fee if you would like a copy of your medical records. In an era where online patient information portals exist for access to medical records, I found this to be very inconvenient and a little wrong. This is the point where I almost ran, but didn't because I had a cold and not a lot if time to find another doctor and schedule another appointment. The wait time was not too bad, probably among the best I've experienced. Once I was in the exam room, I was happy that I didn't leave. The nurse was very pleasant and took my vitals quickly. My provider, their PA Kim, was great. I really appreciated that she took the time to really listen to all of my concerns and addressed them all. A lot of providers don't take the time to that. She also presented me with options, gave me information and let me decide. I really value shared and informed medical decision making. The woes of paper records got back to me when they referred me to labs and x-rays and I had to provide them with all my information again in each of the facilities, plus they spelled my name wrong on the referral. At the end of the day, what really matters is patient care and I felt good about the care, so that is what weighed most in my rating.
