I arrived Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. to pick up my dry cleaning to find the doors locked, even though the "open" sign was on. I waited in the parking lot for over 30 minutes, called repeatedly, and never reached anyone. I returned a little after 2:00 p.m. and the doors were still locked. I even knocked around back with no response. I continued calling for the next hour with the same result. When I came back Thursday, I was told by the owner's wife she had to leave and he was running late. I understand things happen, but a simple note on the door with a return time would have prevented a lot of frustration. I needed my dry cleaning early Thursday morning, so the lack of communication really created a problem. They recently purchased this business, and I genuinely wish them the best, but clearer communication with customers is essential.

The owner is extremely combative. Based on my personal experience, make sure to NEVER bring the items you care about to this place. If they damage it, they will not take any responsbility for it WHILE being degrading, slanderous, and simply just a bully. The owner never thought to apologize even once, instead, he yelled, screamed, and complained about going to them for responsibility for damaged goods. The situation is long so I will leave this review here with a screenshot of the message I received after their insurance had settled the situation and I went to pick up my item.

Their website says that have friendly helpful staff- lie, no one works there! It was $7.75 for a "5 basket" load. It holds what two of my washers hold. I was not initially upset, mistakes happen. I took them in and had them try again. They tried to charge me again until they understood that they were fixing their own mistake. I didn't try them on because I didn't believe this could possibly happen again. My bad. It did and they were still visibly uneven. The owner ( i think) tried to tell me it was my body, my legs are uneven or something and asking what I wanted her to do. This is when I started to get frustrated. I said I just wanted the pants to be even. Whatever that takes. I asked if she didn't think they could do that? If not i would like my money back to take them elsewhere. She said absolutely no refunds. I wasnt looking for a refund until she started blaming me for uneven legs lol. EVEN if my legs are uneven (I am 5'2" and have had many pants hemmed over the years and have never had this issue), they measured them on me, from those measurements they should be even. There was never, at any point, an apology for the inconvenience and then the last lady was very clearly irritated with me for requesting they be fixed and not being willing to be blamed for their mistake x2. Another man came in when I was there and some patch he was having sewn on was visibly crooked and they were giving him the runaround as well. Alterations with Twee in Howell is better but with more difficult hours. Clearly worth taking time off work rather that returning to this place. YIKES.

One is a vintage wool car coat (shorter than the usual length of a coat) from Eileen Fisher, something I bought about 35 years ago. Another is a dark dark purpleish 3/4 length coat, with great sentimental value. So I was hesitant to turn these over and take a chance. However, I can say without reservation that Elite Cleaners II did an excellent job! The colors look more vibrant, esp. the Eileen Fisher coat, which is a dark teal. And that they use a "wet" method and not chemicals was a plus. The items were ready one week later. Yes, you can expect to pay more for their service, although I don't know if the $53.00 for two coats would be standard or not. At any rate, to my mind, it was well worth it. Now my coats are ready for the next winter in Ann Arbor!
