Do not go here. The fillings were uncomfortable and he even didn't make a big enough gap for me to floss my back teeth. They told me I had almost a full mouth of cavities and proceeded to fill over 10. My insurance ran out so I waited a year to go to a different dentist. And was told I don't need anymore fillings!! This review is while under new management but yet still same shady overbilling tactics that previous reviewers posted throughout the years still runs true. Before getting any work done, I asked if they were in network and they said yes. Which I later found out was false. I normally go to Family Dental in Foster City, which is the best and everything they do is upfront and transparent. I only went here per a Invisalign related referral. I should have stay with Family Dental IMO After a year ish of wearing Invisalign, I came back to remove the Invisalign attachments on 9/19. During the removal they kept telling me I needed a cleaning even though I told them I already had one done 3 months prior yet they kept pushing so I eventually agreed and signed for what I was told was a simple cleaning. The whole cleaning procedure was the usual 25-30mins. Fast forward a month later, I get notice letter from my insurance and my wife's insurance that they charged my insurance $3300 and my wife's $3605. Elite Dental charged both insurances for a total of $6905 for a cleaning/xray and Gingivectomy, which I had to google, is the removal of gum tissue which I didn't need nor signed for, let alone were the procedure even performed. I called the Elite dental office and I asked the receptionist about the charges. She said I authorized the procedure which is completely false. Who in their right mine would sign for a $6905 teeth cleaning. I then asked her why are there the same exorbitant amounts of charges on both insurances and not just one. She knew I caught on to their overcharging shady tactics and just kept apologizing but not one bit said she'll look into it or will do something what it. The response seems like it wasn't the first time she's had to deal with a patient calling and asking about ridiculous charges. I could tell she knew they overcharged on purpose as that's their shady tactics to squeeze as much as they could out of everyone that was dumb enough to go here. I later called both insurance providers to see what these charges were and apparently shady Elite dental place submitted stuff to trick both insurances that I needed this work done to get the charges approved. I also called my normal dentist at Family Dental and told him about the whole situation. He's been my dentist for over 8yrs and said my teeth and gums are good and wouldn't need any procedures beside normal/deep routine cleaning. My dentist basically told me what Elite Dental did was illegal as they were doing the below: upcoding - charging for more expensive procedure than what was performed misrepresenting services - misrepresent services to receive reimbursement for procedures that were not performed overbilling - charging more for procedure than what is considered reasonable and customary for the area billing for unnecessary services - billing for services that were not medically needed or that were not requested by the patient read more

DO NOT GO HERE! I honestly don't even know where to begin. My experience at this dental office was nothing short of a nightmare. From administrative failures to a painful and poorly executed procedure, compounded by incredibly inappropriate and racist comments from Dr. Anwar, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Here's a breakdown of the events I experienced getting my wisdom teeth out: 1. Administrative Failures: I arrived for my scheduled appointment on Wednesday morning, having arranged for transportation and fasted as instructed, only to be told that the necessary anesthesia had not been ordered, so my procedure could not be performed. This felt like a lack of preparation and organization, as I had confirmed everything in advance. I rescheduled for Friday, hoping things would go more smoothly. 2. The Procedure--Excruciating and Stressful: When I arrived on Friday at 7 AM, things only got worse. For an hour and a half, I endured repeated failed attempts to have an IV placed. The staff attempted 12 different times--four on my left arm, three on my right, and five in my hand--before finally giving up. When they "thought" they had it in, my arm started swelling and became painful. I was told my veins were "too thin," which felt like an excuse rather than an honest assessment of their technique. I've had blood drawn many times with no issues, and this experience left me feeling like they were blaming me for their lack of skill. Instead of admitting the problem was with their technique, I was subjected to unnecessary pain and distress. I couldn't even count how many times I was poked, and I ended up shaking and crying from frustration. 3. Racist and Inappropriate Comments: The experience got even worse when Dr. Anwar asked about my ethnicity before the procedure--completely out of the blue. While it might have been intended as casual conversation, it felt inappropriate, especially in such a stressful moment. The worst part came during the procedure when Dr. Anwar made a comment about my "strong Jamaican teeth" while struggling to extract one of my wisdom teeth. This comment, among others, made me feel incredibly uncomfortable and singled out. I'm not sure what his intent was, but I was in severe pain, and his comments only added to my distress. It's hard not to feel that these comments were racially insensitive. 4. Medication and Post-Procedure Failures: After the procedure, I was told I had an infection and would need antibiotics. Again, the staff failed to order the antibiotics ahead of time, so I had to ask a family member to pick them up. I was shocked to learn that the antibiotics would cost $93 out of pocket at the pharmacy--just another headache in an already exhausting ordeal. 5. Lack of Accountability and Apologies: When I shared my experience with my family, my father called the office to address the racist comments. Dr. Anwar left him a voicemail apologizing, but his explanation--saying it was okay because "he has Jamaican friends in New York"--was both dismissive and insulting. When my mother went into the office expecting a sincere apology, the administrative staff just made excuses, saying things like "we gave your daughter breaks between the IV attempts" and "she might have misheard things because of the anti-anxiety medication." Not a single person took full responsibility for the appalling treatment I endured. Instead, they tried to minimize the situation and make excuses. Final Thoughts: This dental office was a complete disaster from start to finish. From administrative mix-ups to painful and poorly executed procedures to outright offensive and racist remarks, I was left feeling hurt, frustrated, and deeply disappointed. This should not be happening in any healthcare setting, especially in this day and age. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this office at all costs. There are plenty of dental professionals out there who can offer competent care without undermining their patients based on race. If you value your health, well-being, and dignity, do not go here. Great Experience. My son had extreme pain and I call this dental office and they took my child in right away. Same day accommodation. For a mom that made me very happy with them due to not wanting my child in pain. As I come in to my appointment I check in and get seated with in 3-4 minutes. Front staff is amazingly friendly and consistently seeing if I needed anything. Such as water, if I'm cold and want the heater on. Once getting in the room doctor Anwar and his assistants were very gentle with my child and made sure he was not uncomfortable. Treatment was done same day. After, as we were leaving they handed my son a goodie bag with a bunch of things such as toys, tooth brush, tooth paste, floss and much more. Such a caring office with their patients. I haven't been to the dentist in over a year after having a bad experience with my original dentist in Livermore. I was referred here by a coworker who raved about Dr. Anwar and how knowledgeable he is, and I took a chance since their office accepts all major PPO plans. The staff was so sweet and welcoming-- from the managers to the hygienist to the assistants. Dr. Anwar took the time to educate me on what my X-rays displayed, which I've never had a dentist take the time to do. I could tell he is a genuine dentist who only wants the best for his patients, which eased a lot of my anxiety and skepticism towards dentists. I opted to start Clear Correct treatments, a more wallet friendly alternative to Invisalign since my teeth have shifted as a result of not wearing my retainers consistently (oops lol). The scans for this took less than 5 minutes and zero impressions were needed. Aside from the clean environment and proper dentalcare etiquette being followed, I could tell the office was very up to date with their technology and instruments which gave a very luxury and professional feel to the office. Starting with the receptionist, they have 3 beautiful receptionist who is very thorough and go over with your plans, tell you what is your next step that they are going to do to you, they are also great with scheduling the appointment, overall very great customer service!
