The sales guy, Kyle, was very professional, knew his products and services, and answered all of my questions well. We had the roof scheduled for a Thursday. As the day got closer, there was a 30% chance of rain in the forecast. Not wanting to chance it, I asked to move the date. They rescheduled for the next Thursday with no problem. It then forecasted rain...for the next 5 consecutive reschedule dates we had. Each time, for over 2 months, Aspenmark rescheduled our date, by my request, with no questions. Some of those dates were rainouts, some of them were me being paranoid about rain. No problems. I really appreciated that. I contacted Kyle on weekends, during the week, after 5 pm, early in the morning...it didn't matter. I always got a text or call back immediately. VERY good communication. When they actually did the job? It was done in 6 hours. Much faster than other houses in our area, which sometimes took two or three days. The roof looks great, and it was done very well. Now, here's where I'm leery about the industry in general, and Aspenmark was no different. If you're getting your roof done, watch for this. Get multiple bids from at least 3 companies. Then, watch as they give you one price, then call you back a couple days later and say, "Oops! I forgot to add _____ price in the quote." "Oh sorry. I forgot to correctly calculate your square footage. It's going to be $_______ more money." This seems commonplace, and I'm not sure why they're all doing that. Seems to me that it's how the sales person adds in their commission after they've baited you with the initial price. I can't prove that, but all of the companies I got quotes from did it. Aspenmark was no different. That's why I took away the 5th star for this review. Accurate, upfront pricing is what I expected, and it's shady how this industry can't seem to get that right. But, I will also say that Aspenmark was the only company to increase the price overall, and then give me discounts on some materials to bring my out-of-pocket expense back down to pretty close to the original quote.

You see, the reason I can't speak in length about the company is because even after I signed the contract to have work done, they did not fulfill the contract and do the work! I will try to make this long story as short as possible. I received a bid from Tom for improving ventilation. I received a bid from another company for the same work. Tom's bid was $1,200 higher than the other company, but Tom's bid specified putting in larger attic fans. Okay, that sounded good to us. The larger fans explained the higher amount over the other company's bid. Tom said they would start work the following Wednesday, weather permitting. The Monday before the scheduled Wednesday Tom called to say he did not add in the extra cost of the fans, which was $900, and that it would mean he'd have to pay OUT OF HIS POCKET for the difference, adding, "BUT IF YOU'RE OKAY WITH THAT!" I thought, "what the heck," because how could he now be wanting to add $900 to the total when he was already $1,200 over the other bid?? So I said I was okay with it coming out of his pocket if that was necessary, because we were not going to pay more on our end, and I reminded him that I had already signed the contract that he had sent me. He went on to say that they probably would end up just not being able to do the work. Again, I had signed and returned the signed contract to him, and we were scheduled to begin said work in just two days (and now he's asking for more money????) $900 more would put his bid over $2,100 over the other company, which just did not make any sense. I think what bothers me most about all this was his total unprofessionalism over the phone. Twice he said, loudly, "I'M GOING TO HAVE TO MAKE UP THE DIFFERENCE FROM MY OWN POCKET, BUT IF YOU'RE OKAY WITH THAT!" Two days after this I spoke with a lady named Paula Felix about Tom and she claimed I had not signed all the papers of the contract. Tom had emailed me two papers, and he said to sign the "two papers" and get them back to him, which I did. But Paula said there were more papers I should have signed, and she was sorry, but they were not taking on any small jobs at the moment, and so they would not be able to do the contracted work for me. Paula was very polite, which I appreciated, and she even apologized, which I appreciated, and said she hoped this poor experience with Tom did not leave a bad feeling in me towards their company. I said how could it not? Because though I had signed a contract they would not honor it. (Where is there any honor or integrity anymore?) Maybe the company is outstanding in the work they do, but at the end of the day a company is only as good as their WORD. Aspenmark did not honor their word, despite it being written down in a contract and despite my having signed it.

If you are thinking of hiring Reveles Roofing to work on your property, PLEASE read this…read morebeforehand. It could save you from a massive headache. We had them do a number of projects on our house (roof, gutters, sprinkler system, lawn care, etc.). One of the workers needed to go into the garage to access the sprinkler control system. I was out of town, but my family at home asked the workers if we needed to move my car out of the garage to avoid any issues. The workers told us it wasn't necessary. Fast forward over a week later. I'm back in town, and I find three feet of scratches along the entire right side of my car. Many of the scratches were permanent. To make matters worse, this is a limited edition vehicle (though frankly, this is obviously 100% unacceptable regardless of the car's value). Even worse, I had to discover the damage myself because no one informed me about what had happened. We spoke to Martin, and he said one of his workers probably walked too close to the car with keys or something around their belt, causing the scratches as they walked by. Extremely reckless. I'm being serious when I say they almost had to be deliberately negligent for this to occur. There was very little space between my car and the garage wall. I honestly have no idea what they were thinking. Martin then tried to have me take my car to body shops he recommended, asking me to drive over 40 minutes each way to a shop he picked out. I told him no way... you damaged my car, so I get to choose who works on it. I consulted several local shops, and all of them confirmed the scratches were permanent and that a full paint job would be required. Repainting just the two body panels was possible, but the paint wouldn't match (tri-coat red paint, difficult to match), and I wasn't interested in repainting the car for any amount of money. Martin then tells me he has someone he trusts who can come to my house to work on the car and avoid a repaint (impossible, but I figured I'd give this guy a shot so Martin could see for himself that the damage could not be fixed). Well, what do you know... this guy no-shows twice without any notice. I came back to town for the sole purpose of meeting his guy to attempt the repair. After his first no-show, I verbally communicated to him that I was frustrated from the first no-show and to make sure he could come this time around, and he still couldn't show up. Lovely. In the end, I sold the car for a similar replacement because the scratches were beyond repair, and I refused to have it repainted. This solution cost me multiple thousands of dollars ($15,700, to be exact). It was still cheaper than getting a repaint, as quotes for repainting were between $12k-$15k, plus another ~$10k in depreciation. There were only around 300 of these cars produced, and it took me 8 months to find an appropriate replacement. We still owed Reveles Roofing just under $3k for the project at the end, which we kept (He had the audacity to ask us to pay that balance). As it stands today, Reveles Roofing has caused me to lose over $12k of MY money in this situation. I am generally a calm, level-headed person who doesn't get upset easily, but this situation left me angry beyond words. Of course, the car damage was a huge part of that, as it had sentimental value to me, but the way this situation was handled is unbelievable. You would think I am making this up. I strongly urge you to do your research, as there are hundreds of excellent contractors in Dallas. I urge you to avoid Reveles Roofing at all costs. You want to hire someone who does good work on your home and treats your personal property with respect, and unfortunately, Reveles Roofing cannot do that.

He advised me to get a structural engineer out there, which came out in two days he offered to credit the price of the structural engineer against whatever I would spend with him if I chose him, which I thought was cool I felt like he really educated me about what was happening with my foundation and although it always sucks to have to get your foundation repaired, it was probably the easiest possible experience I could've imagined. It only took them a couple days to come out. They were there promptly at 7:45 AM. They put five lines into the bedrock around the corner of my house. They were done before noon. It looked like they never came. Which is probably the biggest compliment I could give them Additionally, the exterior corner of the house was raised an inch and a half which was great and I saw interior cracks close up a bit.
