As a former escape room addict who eventually got disenchanted by routine puzzles/clues, loved going here! The inventiveness that went into designing the rooms and their clues was original, and elaborate. We had 7 players from 15 to 75 and everyone was able to contribute. Our room was actually three, and you're not just opening a door to reach the next room. Also appreciated we were able to walk in and get a room right before the next scheduled time slot. Had a great time doing the zombie room with the kids! We needed two hints (out of three) and got out with 4 minutes or so left so the difficulty was just right. For the two hints we used, I will say I could have sat there an hour in each one and never figured it out. We had 42 people in our party and we all had a blast. We originally booked all 4 rooms. Our dinner ran over and we were arrived an hour later than our scheduled appointment so we had to use 3 rooms. Dan was extremely professional and accommodating from the booking process all the way through the activity. Wow! I had heard good things about "Derailed" but didn't have high expectations because, really, who can simulate a subway train in an escape room? Well, apparently Elite Escape Games can. We did have some issues registering (you need to have 4 and I initially registered 5, but then a few friends tried to register individually online and were still barred from registering even with the minimum met) but that was our only hiccup. Not to give anything away, but this was a REAL challenge and a great practice in teamwork and communication. We struggled a bit reading the whiteboard since our friend's marker was weak but we still saved ourselves and the train with about 5 minutes to go. What a fantastic place this is! My friend had booked an hour Escape game for 8. The standard time for the puzzle is an hour long. The aim of the game is to solve all the puzzles and save the universe from a nuclear explosion. There are multiple selections of games and you can visit multiple times and solve a different puzzle each time. We went into a room and we were locked in. After solving a set of puzzles the door opened to allow us entry into another room. The remainder of the puzzle was between both these rooms. We made it at 57 minutes, and saved the world! Overall, an excellent experience. Very nice and clean. Great friendly staff. The puzzles are difficult. They are not physically demanding, all mentally challenging. No background knowledge is needed, just some ability in logic puzzle solving. read more

Wow! Let me just start by saying that Dan is the man!! I began working with Elite Escape Games a couple of months ago to put together a surprise event for my husband's 30th birthday. We were going to have a larger party and it would require two rooms. Dan was so incredibly helpful in getting two rooms set up on the date I wanted and the time I was looking at. He answered all of my ridiculous questions and was always available to answer whenever more things came up. I'm pretty sure I called him at least once a week leading up to the event. When we arrived, he advised us about the waiver- which was quick and easy on a tablet. We all signed it and had a few minutes to wait before the birthday guy showed up. Once he arrived, Dan came out and split us into our (pre-determined) groups. He went over basic rules and then we went into our respective rooms. We had reserved the de-railed and zombie rooms. I was in the Zombie room and absolutely loved it! It certainly made you think and work together with your team. Everyone was involved. I had never done an escape room before but was SO happy that I finally tried one. The quality of the room, the puzzles and the overall set up was fantastic. I can't wait to go back and try their others ones. They're building more at the moment, so there's always something new! Highly recommend checking this place out. read more

I struggled with 4 or 5 stars, but when it comes down to it, it was a 5 star experience! We arrived 15 minutes early to pick out awesome game names after booking online about an hour earlier. We were a party of 4 and we had two other guests in the room with us. We decided to do the Nuclear Countdown game. It was definitely a new experience for most of us (only one of us had been in an escape room before). They leave the door unlocked so you can exit if needed, but we were honestly so into it I forgot it was a game! The countdown was on! You receive lifelines if needed, so that was a great bonus to learn about! We made it to the end in time, but there was a small fluke with the final step of switches. They came in and checked it out, and while we finished in time we didn't get to see/hear the big finale! Sort of a bummer, but machines aren't always perfect - I get it. Undead Outbreak was my favorite one here! The guys that work here are pretty cool and were actually useful with giving clues! The jump scares definitely were on point! We went to all rooms but Derailed (have to have four people) and enjoyed them all. We had a group with the Meltdown group and it still was a bit of a challenge!! But we got out. Great location to enjoy a hour worth of excitement. You'll have to crawl in Undead Outbreak (fyi). Loved it! read more

Fun game but in order to continue in one of the steps (Dinosaur room), it required you to get shocked. We kept looking for a shut off and wound up losing because we didn't think we would have had to get shocked in order to move on. The guide was nice though and helped us along the journey. read more

Fantastic experience! Our group of three adults and one 11 year old child (all escape room veterans) completed De-Railed. It was challenging but not overly so and everyone was able to contribute to puzzle solving. We loved the thoughtfulness that went into puzzles - we've done some rooms that were just a boring series of locks and keys - and the design of the room itself. My only (minor) complaint is that the requested clues were a little too helpful, but just keep that in mind and don't ask for help until you're 100% ready to stop trying to figure out that step. I also appreciate that all rooms were private. This may be a temporary COVID-related policy, but it's a welcome one! read more

This is my third time visiting an "Escape Room" business and I have to say - this was the best experience yet! I visited this past weekend for a birthday party - our large group had split in half and reserved two rooms: De-Railed & Zombie Attack. I was in the "De-Railed" group - a runaway subway train scenario. This was the most realistic, fully-immersive and FUN escape room I've ever played! I have been very excited about posting this review. What an amazing experience. I honestly wish I could give 10 stars. First and most important, Daniel was hands down the greatest entertainer/pre-game explainer ever. He was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the game. We had a handicapped person in our group and he immediately picked up on that and didn't make it awkward for her. He made it where she was so comfortable with the game. Because of him, she entered the game with the confidence that she needed to believe that she could certainly do it. I honestly can't say enough great things about him. He deserves a pay raise and a bridge/building named after him. Now the only reason why I didn't post pics of the game is because I feel it would take away from the experience. You can solve the puzzle because we did. It may have taken 48 minutes, but we did it!! So can you! We played the Derailed game. What a fantastic adventure. You are put in a room/s that slightly shifts and rocks just like a sub train. There is a lot of info in front of you but you WILL NOT know it unless you work together as a group. That's all I'm gonna say..... Daniel, you are truly the epitome of customer service. We need like 30,000 of you in our community. We will be back very soon. SHARKS WITH LASERS !! IF YOU ENJOY ESCAPE ROOMS YOU MUST DO THIS ONE. If you aren't sure yet if you like escape rooms you MUST DO THIS ONE. Escape rooms are like Sushi people - if the first experience isn't good they'll never return. This escape room is like eating fresh made poki on a beach on the North Shore. Make this escape room your first escape room experience and you'll be hooked (but spoiled) for life. No joke, this was a Disney level escape room. I rarely, rarely give out 5 stars on a first visit but if after multiple visits it's consistently great I'll edit up to 5 stars. However our experience here was SO OVER THE TOP that I just can't help but give it 5 stars even though we only visited once. My son and I have done multiple escape rooms in multiple states, and we visited this one while in the area for the Eclipse (that thing was awesome for local tourism business; y'all should schedule one each year ;) and it blew our mind. We did the Zombie attack room last minute, and the staff were fantastic. We did have to wait a short bit while another group let out, but the second we walked into the room we were both blown away. I wanted to take photographs it was so awesome but the staffer said that was their one hard and fast rule ...I guess there's a lot of competition to build creative, challenging escape rooms and after doing this one I understand why they want to protect their IP - it really is well above the norm. Definitely the best designed, best ran, best skilled escape room we've ever done. These guys brought together a perfect storm of creativity, prop design, clue/trap/code making, and electronics. They are very clearly hackers/makers and it shows. If I were in the escape room business ( I should be so lucky) I would pay them to design mine. Hell, if I could afford a custom built house I'd pay the to design it. Kudos to the team. I don't want to give out any spoilers in respect to their wishes to preserve their IP, but I have to share a bit about how awesome their rooms are: - Multiroom ! It's MULTIPLE ROOMS, not just a single room. As soon as they said that we knew we were in for a great time. - Crawling. Jumping. Monkey Bars. Trampolines. Ok, so no monkey bars or trampolines, but maybe in the future -please ? - There's some light cardio involved. If you've done this room you know exactly what I'm talking about. SHUTUP, it's cardio to me damnit. You just need more Dukes' fried chicken in your life. - The punji sticks aren't that bad, you'll be fine in trainers. Sike, punji sticks are always bad. They don't have any though. - VERY very creative use of electronics and electrical gear and very rarely did they hurt. - REALLY GOOD CODES. Some of the codes get very meta. I liked that even though I have trouble with the Cyrillic alphabet. Not that any involved the Cyrillic alphabet, I just thought I'd throw out that I'm really bad with it. - Actual LIVE BUGS and small furry animals. My son insists there were absolutely no live bugs or animals involved, but me and my bottle of Beam say there were. - I'm not completely sure the fake blood was fake. Avoid tasting. This is probably just a good rule of thumb in general really. And finally, just one little spoiler: it puts the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again. Hands down the best escape games place I've ever been to. I've done two games here, the zombie one and the Area 51 one. Zombie was my very first one I've ever participated in, and I was pleasantly surprised and excited about all that was included in the overall experience. Area 51 was also fun, and I took my 13 year old nephew. It was good for him because there were no jump scares and it was easier apparently compared to other options, but I thought it required more skill and thought than the zombie one. I also thought the zombie one was much more fun, but maybe my opinion was skewed since I didn't know what to expect (???) The employees are very kind and attentive and were very helpful every time I would call to inquire about the different rooms (when trying to pick one to take my nephew to). There are two additional rooms to try, which I certainly intend on doing. Anyway, I highly suggest this facility whether it's your first time or your 100th, but I do feel like once you go here, it makes all other escape rooms suck comparatively ... so that is a downside. read more

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the overall theme and details put into the room and were able to save the world from a zombie takeover with just ten minutes to spare! So happy with Elite!! Called a few weeks prior to my date to ask questions (it was my first escape room), and they were the nicest! Because I rented the room, I was able to invite a few more people (very grateful for that option). We get there last night, they tell us that the doors are unlocked, so if it's ever too much, we can leave to take a break/use the bathroom/whatever; we were told the shortest time a group figured it out (a good goal for my group); we were given a walkie talkie and were allowed 3 "life lines" to communicate with the instructor as he would be watching our progress (or lack thereof...). The Zombie Outbreak room was tricky, but I'm proud to say we did it less than 40 minutes (didn't break the record though). I would recommend Elite Escape Games to anyone, and will be back for sure. read more

This is a must do in Charleston!!! We went on our family vacation and none of us had ever tried an escape room before. Our choice was the nuclear meltdown room. Going into the experience without prior knowledge was a little intimidating. However, once you get started and work together as a team, the clues quickly unfold into solutions to the puzzles. It is a brain challenge but was cool to see how everyone was able to work together using their strengths to beat the clock. We are already planning our next visit!! read more

Lots of problem solving and puzzles to be figured out, and our group had a good combination of different thinkers to work on the problems. They gave good instructions in the beginning, as long as you pay attention you'll pick up on a couple of important key factors in solving it. We need to talk about Epic Escape Games. Seriously. I planned a pretty laid back date night for my husband and me but decided last minute to book an Escape Room for us and a couple of friends to end the night. We've passed by this place on our way to Cinebarre and decided to give it a try, once we walked and met the owners we realized that we've been to two other Escape Rooms that Jason owns. Once that dawned on us we knew we were in for a good time, his rooms are seriously some of the best hands down. We were scheduled to do the Meltdown room, there were four of us and it was AH-MAZING. Seriously. I've never been in an escape room such as this one. It was unique, it was moderately hard, and so much fun! We barely saved the world in time! After we finished the room, we were so pumped we went ahead and did the Zombie, Undead Outbreak room. That one completely blew the first one away! Like holy crap. This is the best. I can't wait for the third room to open in late April. Seriously. Plus there's a dog. 10/10 would do again. read more

We came for my son's 14th birthday with his friends and we had a great time. The zombie room was not easy but not too difficult either, perfect for that age group. The kids really got into it and worked as a team and had a lot of fun. It wasn't scary but was creepy enough to add that little bit of extra something to the experience.
