While I was initially so impressed with Elite, one month later, I can say my opinion has changed. My furnace unit went out a month ago and upon calling Elite, they immediately scheduled a visit and within 24 hours, I had a brand new unit installed. Now, as I sit at my house to go make my first payment for the unit, my fan is not turning on. We call Elite and they let us know that even though we just purchased a new unit a month ago, their labor is not free and we must pay $120 if we want someone to come out this evening. I wish I could give this company 0 stars. So, in 2018 I purchased a new AC unit (mine went completely out) from them with a 10 year warranty. A few years later during one of the maintenance checks, the technician informed me I must purchase a $1,000 LED light for my HVAC system, otherwise my warranty will be voided? What? I bought it anyway, because I have bad allergies, my job installed something similar and the air quality increased. But, that's not the point. Me not purchasing a new component after the installation YEARS LATER should not have any bearing on the warranty. The reason I am writing this review so late is because I moved so, I am not worried about shady practices from them anymore. Tech came to my home to check my new furnace. While there, he told me that my A/C unit was completely void of refrigerant, and the A/C and/or Heat Pump would not work any longer. So I had a competing company come out to confirm. They told me that my refrigerant was full. They tested both my A/C and Heat Pump, and both worked perfectly according to specs. Elite tried to use high pressure sales tactics to sell me a whole new outside unit, which was not needed at all. They lied to me, and tried to commit fraud upon me. Prior owner did ALOT of rigged repairs, unknown until after bought. 6/12/25, agent came out with me & children at property. Interaction was normal for first 5 minutes. During removal of panel agent said words such "f**k, s**t", which was inappropriate. Agent informed me outside unit is running in 60s, not in 40s(Only time device tool used). Said he would look for issue & let me know, & turn unit off. Few minutes later, he came back inside. Said there's a coil leak inside the house, from visual inspection. No tool to verify. Informed me coil unit needs to replace for 4,000.00. Asked for report before he left, he said would email. Only email received was invoice for 4,000.00 replacement. No details how leak found. Took their word, but wanted to shop around for cheaper replacement, or do full system replacement since it was a 4,000.00 fix. Called MITCH CRAIG - 812-786-0469 (HIGHLY RECOMMEND GIVING THEM). Spoke to office & got good feedback, I seemed to be made aware ELITE was lying some, more lies to come. An agent came out later that same day, thankfully, did a visual inspection. I informed them what ELITE said, new agent didn't understand how that conclusion came to be from ELITE. There were no leak signs(no oil on coils), nor where ELITE agent said leak was. Agent scheduled a full inspection, was completed 6/16/2025. Later that day, I went to turn the a/c on, & it would blow 0% cool air. I called ELITE back & informed them unit is blowing no cool air. They informed me agent had removed connector outside so the compressor would not burn out. Gave me lead # 502-664-9144 SCUM number. Called & informed of issue, SCUM said they remove connector to avoid liability cause they have issues with customers lying. SCUM informed it is easy to reconnect, which I did. Informed SCUM no one informed of disconnect, SCUM said normally do & have a form signed stating it was. I informed again I had no idea. 6/16/2025 MITCH CRAIG agent arrived & used TOOLS ON EVERYTHING TO VERIFY ANY LEAKS/ISSUES, THEY DID A FULL SYSTEM VAC. *FOUND 0 LEAKS * MITCH did a full visual inspection & used tools for inspection. System needed 3lbs of charge, work warranted. Total cost around 500.00. Called ELITE & informed SCUM(502-664-9144) MITCH came out, they found no leak, SCUM said his agents are better than MITCH & they are not wrong, informed SCUM that MITCH used tools & did 2 visual reviews of system. SCUM agent only did visual. Went on to ask if SCUM had proof system was leaking like pictures, SCUM said he saw the picture but it was deleted. I sked for them to come back out & use tools to verify leak, SCUM refused so I asked for a refund, SCUM refused, said it's a leak cause they had to add 3lbs of charge to the unit. *AS stated from the start, the last owner did a LOT OF COST-SAVING REPAIRS, we did not find out until after buying.* SCUM asked for a detailed report from MITCH stating no leak, sent picture of text stating no leak found. Informed SCUM I would reach out to MITCH CRAIG. Later spoke to MITCH what SCUM said & agent just stated they did 2 visuals & cleared system, did a vac test & system had no signs of leak. Got back to SCUM informed of response & stated SCUM would need full write up sheet with company name. Sent picture to SCUM. SCUM told me SCUM only wanted the picture to not refund. Informed SCUM you deceived me into sending a document with no plans to resolve problem! Contacted ELITE office to try to reason, left a note for owner , guess owner just as much of scum as supervisor SCUM. ELITE rather have complaints than do simple right action. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! It will be nothing but a headache! Elite replaced my furnace two months ago prior to a large renovation. They had to return twice because it stopped working twice within a week. Finally got it going. Now, the company that is doing my renovavtion has informed me that there are MANY issues with how it was installed (gaps, missed connections, missing insulation) and they have corrected it to the tune of $2000.00. I had a furnace installed in 2016. In 2024 it was leaking into the basement and had rusted in pan due to not installed to drain properly. It was still under warranty but the manufacturer wouldn't stand behind it due to installation issues- Elite wouldn't either. I paid for furnace and have had issues since that with leaking into the basement, humidity and fumes, carbon monoxide alarm going off when really cold and have been ignored or told motor oil burning off, fan needed to be turned down, etc. My furnace has run constantly when hot (humidity horrible) - bills higher - heat pump went out during that time - 9 years old - was replaced with an air conditioner without letting me know not replacing heat pump. Upon consultation with another furnace company found that flue was not installed correctly- tape slapped over an approximate 2 inch gap- fumes coming out the back (could have killed me) - other vent left open to the attic sucking hot heat and humidity (110 degrees when in 90s) causing humidity issues and possibly heat pump compressor failure. The pipe in the basement was going uphill which caused the first furnace pan to rust out. This has been total incompetence and when I tried to resolve issues total denial of everything even though they just fixed the flue and the intake pipe after I told them what th other company found. read more

DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS! They do not understand the system that they installed (and we are still paying on). Haven't heard from them since the last week of 2022 after our heat went out on 23AUG2022. Multiple errors on their part has led to permanent damage to our system. Here's some examples of how inept they are: - Installed a 3 wire hard start motor with 2 wires. 'Fixed' it, still wrong, proud owner of a melted hard start motor. - Installed our thermostat incorrectly, a/c was running whenever our heat ran. - Found out on 23DEC2022, the coldest day of the year (by far), when our heat went completely out, that our auxiliary heat was never hooked up (great conversation with Allie, their admin. "Is your auxiliary heat on?" "What auxiliary heat?" "Your auxiliary heat?" "Allie, I have no idea what you are talking about!"). - Came the next week and tried to install a board from a different manufacturer (I know) and of course it didn't work. That was the last time we heard from them. They were supposed to be getting back to us the next week to get our heat going and then get the manufacturer out to us to see what could be done but they've gone no contact. One of their techs, who I believe meant well, pointed out a ton of their errors but he didn't even get everything fixed. Another reviewer commented on how terrible Allie is but she does have to listen to ticked off, disgusted customers all day! DO NOT USE THEM. Again just wanted to let everyone know just how terrible Elite service really is. Purchased a unit about two years ago. During winter months received 380.00 plus electric bills .Called elite they sent five repair techs over three and a half months before fixing my unit. Finding out I was heating with the heat strips. normal electric bill 120.00. No comp at all just blew me off . What kind of techs do they have? Not very good at what they do. I am so surprised no not really Elite and Arron should not be in the business. cannot believe how they treat customers. unbelievable how I am being treated. reading other reviews I am certainly not the only unsatisfied customer .Looks like more unhappy customers then happy ones. maybe the owner should start reading reviews. will continue posting till I receive some kink of responce . read more

TO ALL HOMEOWNERS BEWARE!!! I am a 100% disabled veteran and my air went out. I made the mistake of calling Elite for help. They sent over a guy that replaced a piece and also told me I was 2 pounds light of Freon. I thought that was odd because I havent had any issues with freon in over 4 years, so I told him to fill it up which he did and I paid him and he left. the next day my AC was back to blowing warm so I called Elite again and they sent out a different tech. This one tells me all my freon is gone, that i have a bad coil, my outside unit was dirty and clogged which caused my unit in the basement to rust, and I need a complete new unit for 15K, which being disabled on a fixed income would be almost impossible. so I called a different company for a second opinion. after the tech looked over my system he said that someone had intentionally unscrewed one of the valves outside which was the cause of my freon loss, he did a pressure test and vaccum test of my system and said nothing was wrong with my unit, that probably all it did need was the original part Elite put on and nothing more was needed. He refilled my system and it has been fine ever since. I cant believe a company today could be as crooked and treat a disabled vet this way, and you have to wonder who else are they taking advantage of. Steer clear of Elite, they have no morals what so ever. read more

Called tech said unit was off . I needed to to go out side and check unit.Third month same thing.third tech spent two plus hours. Said found an problem but needed to order part. Week went by called tech was wrong. Sent forth tech found problem fixed. Four tech s three months plus outrageous electric bills. Elite heating and air conditioning in new Albany IN is the worst company ever. Terrible customer service. Our unit is little over 2 years old and we have been without heat and air for 6 months out of the time. This unit was a little over 11k and we have a 10 year warranty. They came out here about 20 times and always it's something else or we need another part blah blah blah. We would wait for a month to get a part just be told we need something else. The owner Aaron is a flat out liar, he is the one that sold us this unit and is telling us how great it was. He now states he didn't sell it to us which is a lie. He now states that our unit is junk. You'd think that when you buy a 15000 dollar AC unit that's their "absolute best" it would you know, actually cool the house. It's been constantly running for a week and has yet to hit 70 degrees, not even at midnight. Very very dissapointed. Out old AC unit that they replaced did this without any issues. Elite heating & Air conditioning came to look at air conditioning and they gave us an $8,000 estimate. We have a home warranty and told them we would be back in touch. My fiancé reached back out to the office and after talking to a rude receptionist was told we needed to call back Monday (even though she was the one that handled what he needed help with). When finding out we weren't going to work with them they decided to tell our home warranty company of an issue they "forgot" to mention to us, so our claim was denied. On Dec 15, a tech was here for a service call. I had a code 2.3 on my furnace and the Draft inducer motor was not spinning. We went to the basement and turned on the furnace. He noticed the code 2.3 and told me the motor needed replaced. The only thing he touched was holding down the panel switch. He did not use a multi meter for anything. He did not check the thermostat, the control board, the pressure switch. He checked NOTHING. I was there the entire time. I asked him about the pressure switch. He told me that is never the problem and the motor needed replaced. The tech told me that I'd be looking at around $1300 for parts and labor. He mentioned the part might not be in until Feb. and doubted financing would be available. Then he told me the best way to go is a new furnace. He told me I should be able to get financing for that, it would be $5000 at $83 a month and it could be installed very soon. I told him I would consider the things he told me. He left. I know this doesn't matter, but I checked several places and got $200 as the average price of an in-stock draft inducer motor. Today is Dec. 31. A few days ago, I checked the furnace again. Everything worked including flame for about 2 minutes. The motor was turned off last after the flame went out. It worked like this several times and still is. It gave a Code 3.1. I checked voltage of the thermostat at the control board and it is correct. I checked several hoses for obstruction and cleaned out the drain pan. I lightly cleaned the flame sensor. I vacuumed out the exhaust line, but I don't think my vacuum was suited to that job. None of this seemed to help. I removed the draft inducer motor and ran it on 115v for 7 minutes and it worked fine. This leads me to believe the motor itself is not the problem. I have re-installed it and am still having the same problem. One thing I realized is that when the furnace was working properly, there was always a metal "thud" when the furnace came on. That no longer happens. Perhaps there is a venting problem. I called Elite yesterday. The service manager told me the tech's report included that he checked the draft inducer motor. Again, I was down there the whole time. I was rather angry about his lying. The service manager said she was the only manager there and that she could not help me if I was going to argue with her. I was upset, not arguing. Eventually, she said someone would contact me after the first of the year. I expect a refund on the service call. I also expect a different tech to come out for a free service call to see what is really wrong with my furnace. I would have to assume 1/2 of the good reviews for Elite are from people who didn't know they were getting screwed over. I can only hope Elite believes me and not their employee. Perhaps it is just the one dishonest employee and does not reflect Elite accurately. It does make me wonder if I really needed this furnace I bought from them 6 years ago as a replacement. read more

Elite Heating and Air was contracted to service my house through a home warranty. They didn't show up for the first appointment we made, finally coming out days later. They did not fix my problem. When I contacted the warranty company again to make an appointment with another contractor, they scheduled this company again. Elite Heating and Air did not show up at my house for the appointment, but they did report they fixed it that day. I have cameras that prove otherwise. Not only do I think this company is unprofessional, I think the home warranty was a waste if money and canceled it. Unreliable and dishonest would be my review of Elite Heating and Air and do not recommend them. read more

i scheduled an appointment for routine cleaning. other than a soon to be expired Reme-H cartridge i had no concerns. My home is equipped with CO detectors on every level and each bedroom. The representative arrived and i asked him about the expiration date of the cartridge. Although the sticker that the original service tech placed on the unit indicated an expiration date of May 2023 the tech suggested that we should have it replaced right away. He opened the cover plate to the furnace and noted "mold". I saw dust. He suggested moisture was leaking into the unit. i saw none. He attached a tablet to a long thin wand. claiming that a camera was on the other end he fed it into the coils. simultaneously very clear video footage displayed on his tablet. He explained that the condition of my furnace posed risk of death to members of the household. He suggested that my CO detectors would need to be placed directly next to a vent to detect a presence of the gas. he recommended that we purchase an entirely new unit including the AC, which he hadn't even seen. he went on to explain that he was going to disconnect the gas and electric to the unit for safetys sake but that he could replace it the following day (saturday) if i scheduled it right away. i got a second opinion an hour later. the findings did not substantiate the claims of the Elite Rep. in addition to that, he found that not only had the Elite rep. turned the power switch off, he had disconnected the wires to it making turning it back on less obvious to the unskilled (me) . The elite Reps boss (aaron) continued to message me over the weekend seemingly concerned that my family and i were left without heat when temperatures were nearly freezing. He also wanted to see if he could "help" me place an order. I asked him for the lcredentials of the tech who powered down our unit. He refused to provide them, stating that he didn't like the direction of the conversation. service and sales go hand in hand and if he expects things to always be sales without consideration for service his position in sales with be short lived and result in nothing but a poor reputation. read more

Unfortunately our 22yr old HVAC system had to be replaced during the coldest it has been in many years. I obtained 8 quotes from local businesses. Todd from Elite came in and told us about his products. He had a valuable rescource in Aaron and between the two of them they answered all questions and presented a great product at an affordable price. Install crew showed up at 9 am the next day and did a clean and professional install. I have never had such a wonderful and smooth business transaction in my 50 years on earth! It's goal is to generate multiple visit fees instead of providing competent service. As the other commenter noted, it charges $90, which is far above the area average for a service call and further above average for a mere, scheduled inspection (2/year for a $180 total that basically involves checking the filter that you already replace as necessary). Bigger problem: After having it out to inspect an A/C unit that it installed two years ago (10 year warranty on parts and labor), if found "no problem" with the fact that it wasn't functioning properly and the condenser was freezing up and not keeping the house cool. And refused to even do the periodic inspection b/c 'it's not part of the service call.' (I.e., for $90, it doesn't even check the unit but wants you to schedule it separately for another $90). Long story short, two subsequent companies (with $60 service calls) both determined within a matter of minutes that the A-line had a leak and was not installed correctly. So Elite wanted to charge an above average rate to ignore and/or hide its incompetence so that it didn't have to honor its warranty. Very disappointing. Telephone call and an actual letter (telefaxed) received no responses whatsoever. So it essentially provides a warranty without substance. Avoid. read more

Air conditioner quit working so I called Elite to come take a look. The estimate given to me was for $915.00 to replace the capacitor and fan motor (& blades which I did not need). I declined coverage and had a friend pick up replacement parts for a total of $67.00. Replacement was easy and now it's running fine. I will never use Elite again given the fact that they are not reasonably priced. My advice is to look into the actual cost of these parts before giving approval for service. $450.00 for a fan motor is outrageous given the fact I got an aftermarket for $60.00. $135.00 for a capacitor is crazy when you can buy a new one for $6.50! read more

The only reason I am giving one start is because is the Only way to post my review. They are the worse company I have ever done business with. They over charge, they tell you that they will be there and they don't show at all, they don't even have the Courtesy to call you and let you know they are not coming. When you call them must of the time they don't answer the phone, you leave messages and they don't return the phone call back. I had to call back over and over until they finally answer, it took me sometimes 2 days to get somebody the only reason I dealt with them it's because I have home insurance so they were the only ones they were able to send at that time I had to call my insurance company and reported it at least my insurance company Apologize and they said they would never send them back to my house again. Got charged $90 for the company to show up very late after they said they were close were talking they called at 1:00 showed up at 8 with no were running late. I had my furnace heat sensor replaced on Jan 28 2018. November 2018 same problem. they would not replace it without charging again. They charged 145.00 plus labor again. This part I looked up is 27.89 original equipment they charged 5 times what it cost. and didn't care it had been less than a year since they worked on unit. We bought our Carrier hvac through Elite about a year and a half ago. It hasn't been what they promised. We have had service out twice for the same issues (humidity and noise) and still not right. We paid for a 98% efficiency heater and they installed a 92% efficiency heater. We only found out because I googled the serial number. Aaron kept telling us this is not how they do business, but the installers told me this same thing happened at two other houses that same week and said "you have to stay on him because he'll try to get by with it". They drug their feet correcting the problem and damaged our house (which has still not been fixed) when they finally came back and have refused to even give us any kind of discount. They also failed to register our product (required for warranty) after promising to do so. Extremely disappointing overall. I would definitely never recommend dealing with this company. read more

The whole team of installers seemed very polite, and seemed eager to start the work. They were very willing to answer any questions that I had, and also cleaned up any mess, and went over all of the details of my new thermostat. They charge a diagnosis fee that doesn't go to the repair and they didn't even break out a multimeter and take ratings. The kid was in his 20's and immediately called on the phone to get instructions, had no idea how to actually diagnose the issue.
