Based on the data, I can use various calculators to see which percentile I fall under. The percentile they document is clearly for females of my age group. When I notified them of the mistake, the lady at the desk insisted the percentile and gender were correct and indicated it could not be changed. It looks like wilfull propagation of incorrect medical records.

Also, a radiologist no longer looks at the mammogram right away. Instead she let me know that my dr would get the results in 5 - 7 days. I've never had to wait on results at any place before including here, but I guess they've changed things over the last year. Update: I got my results and they said no change year over year. I find that hard to believe, considering I have a golf ball size lump there that definitely wasn't there the year before. I called and asked that they look at it again. They never called me back. I called today to see if a radiologist had looked at it yet. And no, a radiologist still hasn't looked at it but said a mammogram tech looked at it and maybe it's a cyst. So, I would say to absolutely never go here. You can not count on a radiologist looking at your scans. Now, next week I am going to get looked at somewhere else because it's now baseball size. North Star has prevented me from getting proper treatment for over a month now due to their slow results, lack of care, and not having a radiologist look over scans.

However, during the CT scan with contrast, the technician blew the vein in my left arm, causing the contrast to infiltrate into the surrounding tissue. This resulted in severe cramping and pain on the left side of my body where the IV was placed, and my left arm was left severely bruised. The CT scan with contrast was subsequently canceled, and the technician called a doctor to evaluate me. At the time, I was told that because I was a cash-paying patient and my doctor did not want me to continue with the contrast portion of the test, I would receive a refund for the test that was not performed. My doctor subsequently confirmed that the contrast CT should be canceled. I also spoke with the manager, Stormi Williford, who was present and aware of the situation. She told me at the time of the imaging that she would make sure I received a refund once my doctor confirmed that the contrast CT was not needed. My doctor did provide that confirmation. After several attempts to follow up, I was told that my refund request had been denied and that I would instead receive a credit. I do not want or accept a credit. There is nothing I need or want to purchase from your facility. I paid $600 in cash for a CT scan with contrast that was never performed, and I am requesting that this amount be refunded to me. I subsequently contacted Stormi Williford again and explained that I had still not received my refund. She indicated that she would take care of the matter. Several weeks have now passed, and I still have not received the $600 refund for the test that was canceled and never administered. I what steer clear of this facility and use more reputable one that cares about their patients.

April 16, 2026 Wise County Medical and SurgicalReview: 1…read moreStar Worst experience I've had with a medical practice. I scheduled appointments for both my wife and myself, but the office created multiple errors that ruined our visit. We received a notification on my wife's phone confirming a 10:15 a.m. appointment for her and an 11:00 a.m. appointment. When we arrived at 10:15, the staff could not find my appointment and eventually realized they had mistakenly scheduled both slots under my wife's name only. Compounding the problem, we were never notified about an earlier 9:30 a.m. appointment that had apparently also been scheduled. By the time we finished discussing the confusion with the staff, it was already 10:30 a.m. They informed us they were running behind and could see my wife immediately, but I would have to wait until 4:30 p.m. -- an extremely inconvenient option since we live 35 miles away. The staff was rude and unable to explain the scheduling errors. They offered no apology and simply suggested we come back later in the day for both of us. We ultimately had to cancel the morning appointments. In the several visits we've had with this practice, I have never once been seen by an actual physician -- only nurse practitioners. The combination of poor communication, scheduling incompetence, and unprofessional staff makes this one of the most frustrating medical experiences we've ever had. I would not recommend this practice to anyone. April 16, 2026

They also have appointments after 5 which was great! They told me copay before visit then called me to remind me of my appt the next day. When I first walked in it was so nice seeing a very clean waiting area. I was greeted immediately. I had an MRI that day without contrast, followed by an MRI with contrast on my pelvis and lower back. I went in and told them I was beyond dehydrated and I already have horrific veins as it is. (For reference- anytime I've been inpatient they have to get nurses trained in sono guided venipuncture just to take blood. And even then I get stuck no less than 4 times. I'm not exaggerating. To have an IV set, they have to call in the PICC team to set a midline. Which oftentimes I've had to be stuck 2-3 times for that as well. Which really paints a picture if you know the skill of the PICC team.) I didn't have high hopes, to say the least. They were very quick to take me back. The gentleman who set my IV, even though I could tell he was nervous, remained reassuring to keep me relaxed. He joked with me and made me laugh. Which really helped. He did have to stick me twice, but this was no fault of his own. But... he got my TINY sclerotic vein on ONLY the second try!! Mind you, I am on some medicine that has caused me to have some tremors. So I'm very shakey. They also offered me a blanket if I needed one. Anyone who has had an MRI knows it's not quick, at all. You have to lay completely still for about an hour. I was in extreme pain. I cried the entire time. The team were amazing at reassuring me and just kept saying how sorry they were and just a little longer. I have never had such an amazing experience. I didn't catch the names of the people that day, but I hope you read this and know that I thank you.
