I've been going here for over 10 years. I don't understand some of these other reviews. This is a very high end salon!They all speak English very well, do an outstanding job. I found them because of all the excellent reviews on Angie's list. I get waxed, no problem. Get pedicures, so relaxing! Manicures, outstanding. Very friendly! i've been coming here for quite a few months, however, my opinion of this place has been declining slowly in terms of quality of service. Today I got a gel fill-in, I requested more of a coffin shape. More than three of my nails are completely crooked and slanted despite me asking her to correct it multiple times. Have been going for years and it's always hit or miss. Got a gel manicure today and asked for round without cutting my nails. My priority was keeping my length. She botched cut them to be square and had to make them even shorter once I reminded her that I wanted them round. She did not push back or trim my cuticles. There are air bubbles on every nail and she didn't go to the edge of my nail on many nails so there are gaps. One nail even broke 2 hours later after she filed them way too thin. It's very clean which is nice but for 35$ my nails look like they were done weeks ago. My nails were long and healthy before this set and now it's going to be a long journey letting them thicken. Honestly the worst fill in I've ever got. It felt like she didn't know what she was doing. I asked for square and they are round and different lengths and shapes. I went to this salon today since I was in the area and needed a manicure. I understand that covid ruined a lot of businesses therefore prices need to be raised, but I think it's a little ridiculous that a REGULAR Manicure WAS $15. Now honestly the price wouldn't have bothered me BUT they don't even let you dry your nails once you are done. I think this is something they should tell you upon arrival to give you the option to get them done or not. Anyway I stood up and looked around to see where i was supposed to go and the girl was like nope bye don't ruin your nails and laughed. I'm 24 now and I've never been to a nail salon where the employees are so nice and welcoming. I go about every two weeks and I always walk away more than happy with my nails. been here a hand full of times hoping it'll get better when my usual is too busy... NEVER DOES. I get UV gel or Powder gel and they continuously chip the next day or few days after. This time i went for powder gel, expecting to last min 2 weeks (what it usually lasts at my normal salon) Chipped the next day! furious , i went back to get it fixed, then the next day another chipped. $35!! do not go here. Has not been a week since and almost all of my nails are broken/chipped, going to have to spend double the money and get it re done at my usual place. DO NOT GO TO THIS "salon". This is not my normal salon but I went today because I was in the area for a powder gel. I called and made a 1:45pm appointment. When I arrived at 1:40 the place was packed. They did not start to soak my nails off until 2:15 (which is completely unacceptable with an appointment) And I had my 3 year old with me. If I could give this salon a zero I would. They did not disinfect the tools she tried to use on me. Same files and clippers that were sitting there when I sat down. She tried to use a dirty towel to give me a massage. I declined. The woman filed my long and healthy nails down to nothing. she was supposed to file them square but I can't even tell you what shape they were (weird oval-ish). She used the wrong color on my nails (not the color i picked) and it was such a bad color that another employee came over and advised her to use a different color. I gave up defeated just wanted to pay and get the heck out of there. The manager advised me to next time call and book him, Helen, Sarah or anyone sitting on the right side of the nail salon bc they were the best. What the hell!? This was my 1st time so obviously I couldn't book those people, but what does that mean? If u don't book them u get a half assed job?? The owner Helen saw how upset I was and offered to " fix" it. This was 2 hours in. She actually begged me. i let her "fix" it bc it was so bad I wanted to cry. She filed my nails down even more. She filed My cuticles Until I bled. She added regular gel over the powder (the color I wanted) and while it's kind of better than before it is totally unacceptable. It's streaked, thick and looks like my 3 yr old painted my nails. I give 3 days before chipping and/or peeling. With so many nail salons in the area and in Long Island in general I would advise anyone reading this to go elsewhere. She literally begged me to come back after she made sure I paid(which of course I would). The entire experience left me feeling dirty & taken advantage of. This is the worst experience I have had with a nail salon. I was very specific in that I was looking for acrylic tips when I called and walked in. What I received was gel. By the time I noticed (as I was reading a book) it was too late and I was leaving on vacation. The owner and several ladies insisted that this was better. I told them it was not better just more expensive. Within 4 days 2 nails were broken. I returned and they were fixed after an hr wait. So in conclusion I spent $125 that day and 5 days later my nails are 2 different colors due to oxidation and I lost an hr if time I will never get back Update: within days more tips cracked. I made an appointment in the morning and got there about 10 minutes early. They started me on time and my pedicure was done pretty quickly and decently. However, I wanted to get a full set of acrylics, the nail tech by the phone took me and kept stopping to pick up the phone. He then asked if it was OK if he stepped away for two minutes to work on somebody else. I explained to him that I had somewhere to be in an hour and he assured me that it would only be two minutes. It ended up being about 10 minutes until he saw me getting antsy and called over another tech to work on my nails. The result was a pair of uneven nails that were thick and not what I asked for. What was worse is that they left tons of glue underneath my nails and on my fingertips. I was charged $75 for this terrible job. I could only give this place 1 star and that's being generous. I never write reviews but this place is awful! They barely speak any English and couldn't understand me at all. I asked to get a fill in with acrylic powder. They were gonna use the acrylic UV gloss but I already had the powder on before that and from experience, I know you can't put that on top of acrylic powder. When I asked her to get powder, which is normally cheaper then UV acrylic, SHE GOT POWDER GEL AND PUT THAT ON MY NAILS. I've never been to a worse nail salon in my life. I'm done with this place!! I walk in and the place is busy, they ask me what do you need, and I tell them, and ask how long? They tell me a "few minutes, pick a color" We'll a few minutes turns into an hour of waiting. First waiting in front and then sitting in a pedi chair for 45 minutes before anyone even comes over. It was not a good experience. We had facial waxing. We are both broken out now with a rash. They used cheap wax and kept going over and over the same area with the same strip. On top of that, we both still have hair patches in all waxed areas. We also had manicures and pedicures. Our nails have dust lumps stuck dried in them and the nail polish pooled at the bottom of most of our nail beds and dried in a lumps because the polish was so watered down. EVERY edge of our fingers looks like my 4 year old granddaughter painted them. They did not even cut our cuticles. Both of us like short nails. They filed our nails soooo short that the quicks are exposed. We will have to go somewhere else to have the nails re-painted. The waxing will have to wait until the rashes go away. I was given a gift card for this salon and decided to give it a try. I walked in, very clean looking appearance, lots of chairs, looked very organized. But that was it. My first impression quickly fizzled. I was placed in a chair at 11:10 for a pedicure. My appt was 11. The tub was filled with cold water, the jets turned on and I was left there until 11:35. Needless to say I took my feet out. I did not leave until 1pm for a pedicure and gel manicure, and I was aggravated. I'll stick to my usual place, Noble nails. This is the only salon to which I return over and over again, it's actually been many years I've consistently been happy with their service. Everyone is so warm and friendly, it's the cleanest salon, exceptionally clean, and the quality and service are the best. The pedicure they do for just $17 is easily worth more. For $10.00, you can add an extra 10 minute massage so you get a luxurious pedicure for less than $30.00! They also give you a bit of a shoulder massage while you're drying. They accept walk-ins, but it's best to make an appointment because they are always busy, especially towards the end of the week. I know that all their customers are regulars like me because they address everyone by name from the moment they walk in the door. Everyone is terrific and my favorite is Leo.
