I've been going to Family Nail for over four years now and all I can say I'll pick a salon with nice and friendly staff over a fancy place any day. It's not the most upscale but they're quick and friendly and they're pretty good about walk ins. I've been to other salons on the island where they can't see you for hours. These same salons are usually very efficient, but tend to rush you out the door. I personally always go for the powder gel, it lasts (for me) almost a month. Great color options too. I also do the occasional spa pedicure. Overall everything is clean, I've never had an issue. I usually see Scott who is so sweet and always helps me pick colors when I'm stuck. My powder mani is flawless when he does it and I always get the shape I want. 10/10 recommend asking him for a chair massage too ($10 for 10 mins). read more

Polite. Friendly, accommodating and easy to communicate with. Inexpensive. Basic color choices. You get what you pay for. Not terribly clean once I sat down and took a hard look. Not updated and that goes for equipment too. Using tools that were cheap. Rags were old and worn. When they broke out the cheese grater I knew I wouldn't be back and politely said no thank you. What irks me most is when a nail salon doesn't pamper your skin and instead treats it like it's supposed to be rubbed until desired smoothness! Do better. I won't be back again. read more

Went in for a pedicure and waxing. Waxing was super fast and she didn't do a great job. The pedicure station wasn't clean and neither were the supplies that she used. The overall spa pedicure was fine but one of my toe nails didn't have paint on half of it. The massage was good, but don't go here if you're looking for a clean place or a really good experience. They also seat you within 2-3 feet of other people which I found to be a bit odd. read more

I was on the way to the mall and needed a gel manicure for a wedding the next day. The person who I believed was the owner also talked me into a pedicure. There were three people working. It's a pretty small spot. The pedicure was normal, the lady gave a good massage. They passed me on to a man named Scott who did my gel manicure. He was very meticulous which I appreciated. When he was done, I told him it was perfect and he said "no, next time it would be perfect". There were barely any imperfections that I could see but I like that he takes his manicures very seriously. This will be my new salon. The only reason I gave a 4/5 is because there was no television to watch....there's not much to do when you can't touch your phone...and there were these little flies (I'm hoping they were flies) flying around. This was absolutely the worst manicure, pedicure of my life I was mortified. The girl literally fake massaged my legs by trying to look like she was putting effort but barely even rubbed it in. Then when she did the nails she did fine, until I paid in the middle, left a 20% tip and she got pissed and ended completely rushing the painting in seconds, actually missed the side of the nails and had air bubbles. It actually looked like a child did it. Wasn't sanitary at all, all the tools had no disinfectant & their fans at the drying station didn't work so they had the small $1 room fans to dry your hands with and honestly the prices here are the same as a nice salon. I'm all for a hole in the wall type of place, but if your prices are the same as others than service like that isn't right. The owner is incredibly kind and tried fixing it by putting a top coat, but it actually ended up so thick it never tried for hours and got smudged. I never say anything ever, but this was actually the most unsanitary, worst application, and not reasonable price salon I've ever seen. I feel bad because the owner was so kind, but when you charge those prices and have conditions like this- not cool. Will not return. read more

This place is the worst!!!! Terrible customer service. I'm a regular customer for about two years. I come almost every two weeks for a gel manicure, and this last time I went the polish started chipping off around the second day and by a week it was almost off every nail!! I called the owner and told him he gave me a hard time I'm on the phone and finally told me to come in. I went there he ignored me when I came in, finally says something so I go to show him and tell him about it and rudely and blatantly ignored me and wouldn't even turn to look at me! Needless to say I was baffled at this treatment after being a good regular loyal customer for two years, going for mani's, pedi's, massages etc! I've spend quite a good amount of money there and I ALWAYS tip VERY well. Well now I regret it, they treated me very poorly and as a business you need to honor your services which he was not willing to do! They use cheap old polishes that don't last! Do NOT go here if you want to waste your money. Plus ONLY the male owner can actually do nails and you rarely get him. The other employees including his wife are terrible and rush you when doing your nails. The wife paints horribly. Paint always on cuticles and fingers. OMG!!! I have been to many nail salons. While not super fancy a very friendly staff and absolutely the best foot massage I have ever had. She really worked my feet and calves. Usually when I get a foot rub during the pedicure they are just rubbing my skin. She truly rubbed all the knots out and took her time for my foot massage and also when she painted my nails. Decided to go in with my sister today to get a gel manicure while my sister got a gel French manicure of her hands and feet. We didn't have an appointment and this was our first time so we expected a long wait and were fine with that. When we walked in one customer was walking out and there wasn't anyone waiting. Our lucky day? Not so much. After we sat down, it was one person after another that was walking in without an appointment and there were 3 employees trying to handle about 8 people at one point. They got everyone started and then rotated with each of the customers. It was beyond odd. The lady who worked on my nails most often (during the rotating thing) might have been the owner because she greeted everyone and seemed to be in charge of the coordination. She rushed through my manicure and it shows! My nails which didn't seem that bad when I was there is quite noticeably horrible when I saw them in bright light. I don't even live nearby to go back! My sister was also not pleased with her gel manicure but she had an event to get ready for so she was not going to wait around for a redo. Would not recommend. read more

I found this nail salon by accident and I'm so glad I did. It's clean, family owned and operated and the staff is terrific. Amy is a nail technician wizard -- incredible/fast.
