I never leave reviews, but I feel like I have to say something. This was the most stressful manicure I've ever had. I was shocked by how rude and unprofessional my nail technician was. She had a horrible attitude and made the experience extremely uncomfortable. I wanted a simple manicure for my brothers wedding, and she acted like it was a huge inconvenience that she had to do my nails. She cut two of my cuticles badly, one to the point where it was bleeding along the entire cuticle, and didn't say anything about it -- didn't apologize or anything. The polish on some nails was sloppy and uneven, and when I asked her to fix it, she glared at me. Literally glared at me! She huffed and said "ugh, I'm gonna be here all day," like it was somehow my fault, and acted like I was being unreasonable for wanting her to fix her mistakes. I was flabbergasted. She continued to be so rude that I just shut down and stopped asking her to fix anything because I just wanted to get out of there. I left with a below-average manicure, stinging and bleeding cuticles, and a really crummy experience. For your own sake, please don't go here. read more

First time visiting this nail spa. I came in for a pedicure. My honest opinion was that the service was decent but I felt like they were very overpriced. I wanted a regular (not deluxe) pedicure with French shellac...it was $68! I have been getting this exact service from nail salons all over the United States and usually it averages around $45-$50. Awful customer service. They have a basic pedicure advertised but after you're sitting in the chair they ask what kind you want and the menu card only lists much more expensive versions. Then they are all Vietnamese and I'm half Vietnamese and understand the language though I don't look Asian and it turns out they are all speaking so rudely about customers and making fun of them right to their faces without them knowing. Lastly I took the color I chose and was dabbing some on my little girls nail because she was being so patient and waiting quietly and another women came over and was so incredibly rude and grabbed the polish away and walked away shaking her head up and down the store like I was some thief. She's 4 and has nails the size of a pinhead. Seriously? That's how you treat customers? I regret giving this place even one star. I took my eleven-year-old daughter to University Park mall for her very first manicure. We happened to go to Elite Nail Salon and Spa. What was supposed to be a relaxing experience turned out to be very disappointing. The manicurist we got seemed very abrupt and rude. She chatted with her co-workers in their language, and it was pretty apparent that they were talking smack about us. I'm a writer and am a pretty good observer of people's body language, and this woman made us feel as if our presence was a bother. She painted out of the lines, and when I asked her to clean it up she heaved a long suffering sigh. I even gave her an extra dollar for her trouble and she rolled her eyes without saying thank you. Another customer told us how rude her manicurist was. My daughter overheard the manicurist say behind my back, "This lady better hurry up and give me the money because I'm tired and want to go home." I have read many bad reviews on the Internet about Elite Nails and have heard quite a few negative stories from friends and acquaintances as well. Elite should watch who they hire because their employees make them look bad. I don't expect to be all buddy-buddy with the girl doing my nails, but a little respect and a smile goes a long way. read more

Poor service. Upon entering the establishment, the receptionist did not acknowledge our presence even after waiting 30 minutes. The staff seem to be racist and unfriendly. My mom, sister, and I have come here a couple of times and I've never been very impressed. Fortunately for Elite Nails, there isn't much competition in the area. On yesterday's excursion, however, a female staff member hit a new low that will prevent us from returning in the future. After waiting for an hour in the foot-soaking seats (we were told it would be no more than 10 mins), 3 staff members were finally free to help us. I was lucky to get a friendly, outgoing guy who did a fair job. My sister, though, was being helped by a woman who asked her, "do you want the callus treatment? Your feet are too callused." I know my sister gets pedicures regularly so her feet are actually smoother than most. The rudeness of the question was enough for her to be understandably unhappy with the service. But then, the woman decided she shouldn't have to scrub her feet for more than 30 seconds. I suppose she also told the woman working on my mother's feet, because she didn't get the standard pumice scrub this time either. The rest of the pedicure was a sloppy race to get it over with, and the female staff members continued to be cold/rude until we left. I don't expect to be best friends with my nail tech, but I do expect a relaxing, pleasant experience. Elite Nails has proven one too many times that they can't even consistently offer that. read more

If you purchase the mani+pedi but NOT the deluxe, they just scowl and rush through every part of the deal. $38 is a great deal for both combined but I seriously could have had a more relaxing experience doing this at home for FREE! Not only do they take great care of my feet, this is the only place my wife & her mother will go to now. The service is consistently good, though there have been times when they've been rushed. I have 30 years' experience in service-based industries and no one gets it right 100% of the time ever, so I give them a pass for the one time out of 20 that we've gone in and felt a LITTLE hurried. Otherwise, let me say that my wife, mother in law, and both of my sisters take their nails very seriously and have tried many salons in this region and elsewhere. This is the one they go back to... this is the one they want gift certificates for... this is the one that does their nails every time before vacation, a wedding, or any other major event. They have never done a half-assed job and they've never given any of these VERY particular women cause to not return. Remember that when someone seems "rude" (by American suburbanite standards) , they are sometimes only being sincere... direct... clear... to the point and, often, limited by language as well as cultural barriers. "Here... you sit here" isn't rude, it is getting you into a chair so they can do their job. Also, try not to forget... you are in a nail salon in a mall in Indiana... not a $100/hour spa retreat in Sedona. Regarding some of the other complaints on here... my advice is to not walk in as a group within a half hour of closing if you hope someone is genuinely enthusiastic about you being there! That goes for any place... salons, RESTAURANTS, etc. Sure, they'll do it but NO ONE wants to see you walking in the door in a group for something like this just before closing. I have seen some of the people who come in there act like entitled asses and MAYBE they kinda deserve to be the butt of a joke or two when they come in and act like that. I speak enough of a few languages (and I don't look the part) to know that often times when a group of people are speaking in a language they think you don't understand, they say whatever they want. Unfiltered. They talk about personal matters, spouses/significant others, bodily functions, and IF you are rude, demanding, or otherwise deserving of it, they WILL talk about you... as if you aren't there, it is true. If you think being talked about or made fun of "to your face" in a language you don't understand is unique to Elite Nails, that is naïve. I give it 4/5 because it IS just a salon in a mall in Indiana. It delivers what is advertised within reasonable expectations and the product is consistently superior to anything we've found in similar scenarios. Perspective. read more

Absolutely awful. Cold environment. Older lady filed half my nail away, massaged my hands with lotion, AFTER lotion made me wash my hands. She said my nails were ready for polish and ALL of the nails still needed to be shaped (edges were broken and split). She filed them in a goofy ass square shape where the edges were longer than the rest of the nail. I asked her if she wanted me to file them myself...she continued to file up to the bed of my nails. THEN she told me, "you pay before polish." I paid and the end result was so messy and she painted over the black fibers from the buffer. I will never go back! read more

Absolute worst nail salon I've ever gone to. Asked for a French shellac manicure and a color change for my toes. Had to ask to get my toenails clipped during the color change. Dipped my full fingers in acetone when removing my old shellac, which dried my cuticles out and made them sensitive under the UV lights. But that's not why I'm writing this review - she damaged my nail when scrapping the old shellac off, and when I brought it up she brushed it off. I brought it up again when I got my bill and asked for a discount in a normal tone of voice. This resulted in another employee coming over and SCREAMING at me, "What are you going to do when I take it off and it's still there?" She obviously didn't understand what I was talking about so I dropped it. No discount, terrible customer service. DO NOT go to this place, I'm shocked they're still in business. read more

I was so disappointed with everything at Elite Nails. I went with my friend the day after I got engaged to get my nails done so they would look nice to show off my new ring. I got the shellac manicure with was $35 (already seemed a little expensive, especially with tip). When she was done, it looked just ok, not as good as any shellac I've had before. The next day, 3 of my nails chipped! Now, a week later, every single nail is already coming off. I could have just paid for a regular paint job, or better yet done my own at home. Atrocious. I came here with my sister, who's from out of town. We wanted to get our nails done and Elite seemed fine. Both of had gelaque, the price is relatively reasonable. My sister's guy completely rushed her. He did a haphazard job and she was dissatisfied when we were walking out. Mine seemed a little better. My guy took his time and all, but he told me it would last two weeks. It's been 9 days and I can tell he didn't paint certain parts of my nails correctly. Some have cracks and are transparent, to the point that it's noticeable to people that are kind of far away from me. I won't be coming here again. read more

if I could give this salon a lower rating I would! despite my better judgement, I went to this salon after reading all of the horrible reviews online. boy, all of the reviews on here do tell it all. My mom, sister, and I walked in 30 minutes before they closed and asked if they would still take us, they groaned & fought over who would do our nails. we told them that we didn't mind coming back the next day & they ignored us & ordered us to where they wanted us to be. we told them several times we were sorry & we could go if we needed to. when the lady did my sisters pedicure she was very very rough and so rude. when I sat down to get my acrylic nails done a different lady was just as rude as the other lady was to my sister & super rough with my nails. not to mention my nails look like crap & they are chipping after less than a week. also, the whole time the ladies were spitting Vietnamese between each other making me feel like all they were doing was speaking poorly about my family and I. to say the least I'm very very disappointed. & I urge you to go to a different salon if you want good service & correctly done nails. you will for sure not get that here. the salon may look nice but this place for sure has the worst service possible!!!!!! read more

I have oily nails that don't take well to acrylics or other nail options, however, I explained to one of the manicurists the issues I had in the past, and she was so helpful. Yes, she took about an hour to do my nails, but they were perfect and clean and have lasted beautifully. They even gave me a discount since I was getting my nails done for my wedding. I am writing this because I never want anyone to experience what I just went through. Long story short: I could have done a better job on my feet and saved myself the energy of getting upset and the money I shelled out to pay for crappy service. The woman that did my pedicure was SO rude and cold. She was rushing through as though she was in a race, yet there was NO other person getting their feet done! Most of the staff were sitting in the pedi chairs on their phones. No one asked if I needed anything. The whole reason why I came there was to get a good scrubbing on the bottoms of my feet to make them smooth (long winter!) and all she did was put a soft pumice stone to them for maybe 1 minute for both feet. I asked her if there could be anything else done and all she said was, "I can't do anything else more." She even clipped my toenails crooked. I told her to stop halfway through, that I was done, and that I would just pay for the time she spent on me -mind you, I didn't even get polish on them, was there for 15 mins- and she asked me for $28, the whole price!! I was floored. I asked to speak to the manager. Bad decision. She was just as horrible and rude to me as her employee! I gave them $20 and went to customer service in the mall. The security officer and the main service worker both said, "They've had many complaints in the past. This doesn't surprise us." I went to Happy Nails in Mishawaka right afterwards and told them my story. They said: "oh yah, the manager at Elite Nails is very bad. very very rude." They all looked at my feet and asked me what they even did to my them! They apologized that I had that experience and she had to start from square 1 to finish the job. I felt so disrespected, cheated out of $20, and what is usually supposed to be a time for de-stressing actually ended up tagging more stress on to my day. Bottom line: NOT WORTH IT. Go to Happy Nails! They are so wonderful and kind. They took a lot of time on me, offered me water and overall showed me what great customer service is all about. If I could give 0 stars, I would! They charged me for Gel Nails (as I asked for) and put on acrylic! I said something about it and they denied it! I know the difference and am 100% sure they are acrylic! They used acrylic powder on them! Gel nails do not get powder...at all! On top of that, they charged me $10 more than they should have for my nails plus my 2 daughters nails. Awful customer service. Three women who work there were rude the entire time I was there. I took two teenagers to get their first pedicures ever and one was made fun of. I was told to go sit and let my nails dry and as I struggled with all my belongings my nails got messed up. They made me feel horrible and as the woman scowled one said "how is it that hard to get from here to there without messing them up?" Had I been helped and not rushed out of the chair this would not have been a problem. I was mistreated and I kindly over tipped them in hopes that they would be nicer to their next customers.
