I never usually go here, but I had two nails lifting and needed a fill. So i went in and, although the lady was nice, the work wasn't great and the price was steep. $70 for a fill and only one replacement nail. She claimed my other one was fine...ok? The gel polish is sloppy. It doesn't go to the ends, so after two days, my polish is lifting on the sides. I didn't even get a design, and the $70 is before tip! I really think I was overcharged and she was just throwing numbers out there. Probably the worst my nails have ever looked. The old color isn't even completely off on my thumb, she just gave up. I shouldn't be seeing my actual nail on the sides. Hopefully these last for at least 2 weeks. However, they seem to have a lot of nail techs. So this is only true for one technician. They need to take responsibility. I had my nails done yesterday and all night and the next morning the charms fell off one by one. That of course shouldn't be happening. So I went to the salon and spoke with the manager she was not very friendly. I explained what happened and asked politely about giving me a refund. I thought 25 bucks was fair. So she said I will give you 25 but you can't come here and have your nails done anymore. I said that's pretty shitty of you to say that to me when what happened had nothing to do with me. Saturday, July 20, 2024 I took my daughter to get her nails done. I expected to pay about $65. The nail tech up charged her to the tune of $95. This was unacceptable. Holy hell. A nail salon is only as good as the people that are actually doing the nails. Unfortunately I have gone here twice in the past few months and both times I was extremely disappointed. Not only did my nail person do a shitty job on my nails as well as my toes he was pretty unfriendly and did not give two shits whether or not he did a good job. One look at these white nail polish toes and you can save there are weird lines in my toes and the paint dried weird. This was my second trip to Allure, and while the first one was good, I received the best manicure of my life last weekend. I got acrylic for the first time and the woman who did my nails (I forgot to ask her name, but she was at station 15) was very patient as I asked a million questions. She gave me exactly what I wanted, and did amazing french tips! I have never had them so even or look so good. They were thicker tips than I normally get, but they definitely look better this way. Got a normal manicure, not gel. She only used two layers of paint but probably could've used more as it wasn't very opaque. I had an almost 4 star experience for my shellac mani + pedi - I got a within-the-hour appt by calling, Tracy is skilled and was responsive to feedback, and my nails were well done, consistent, even, and looked 8.5/10 good. The detractors for my first visit here today were that the supposed matching polish (for fingers shellac and regular for toes that were literally in the same package) turned out different - see pic- but that would have still left me at 4/5 stars. A whole star was dropped from me when they committed a cardinal sin for me at ANY place of business- they started vacuuming and cleaning obnoxiously while I and 2 other customers were still in the building (and 10 to 15 minutes before close, I'd point out). Cleaning sneakily is fine, but there's no excuse for running a noisy vacuum all over in a "spa-like" environment while customers are present. It literally takes like 3 minutes to vacuum, so do that AFTER I leave... don't act like you are rushing me/absolutely can't wait for me to leave so you can, too. Customer service faux pas!!! If you don't come within the 2 hours before close, you'll probably think it's a 4 star experience :) read more

I never leave reviews but this got me upset because of the money I spent and great tip I shouldn't have given. I go here often and there are technicians who can do wonderful jobs but there are some that I feel like they just don't care at all. Usually if my nails arent perfect, I can turn a blind eye but this is the first time that my nails have been done this badly by this salon. You can see the horrible job done in the pictures. And what makes it worse is that it was done by two different technicians. They were really rushing me although there weren't too many people in the salon. They looked like they may have been understaffed at the time...idk. My nails looked fine to me when I was done so I gave a generous tip to them for being nice to me and squeezing me in when they seemed stressed out about trying to get to their appointments but then only 3 hours later my mani/pedi was chipping and peeling off. This is unacceptable. I would've waited as long as I needed to wait to get someone to take the time needed to do the job the right way for me, a paying customer. I would totally go back in tomorrow if I could, and I know they would fix it and do it the right way, as they've done it for me before, but I have a flight in the morning. So I have to travel to Hawaii with less money in my pocket, ugly nails. ESPECIALLY, I now have to waste precious time and more money in Hawaii to get another mani pedi to fix it. If you go here, I would suggest only making appointments with Kita or Lisa they're kind and always do a really great job. Otherwise, it's a hit or miss of who you get and if they feel like they give a crap about you enough to do a good job. It was really bad experience! I'm very disappointed! The lady didn't clean my cuticles, instead she just covered them with a gel polish . She was soo in the rush. I spent there just 20 min . They are not that professional to do manicure that fast! Most of the nails are thick just on one side and very thin on other. I would say, very fast and very unprofessional! Normally I would give five stars but today was the worst nail experience I've had from them somebody new did my nails and she charged me 7 extra dollars then normal and I've gotten this exact same set before same color same length same shape and it was 35$. That plus the $10 to remove my old set means the total should have been $45, she charged me $52. That was strike one. On top of that my nail polish is uneven and was pretty much completely ruined before I ever left I was so pissed I didn't even ask them to fix it. there are bubbles in the polish. Polish was ruined while it was wet and was told $10 to fix it on top of that the clear coat doesn't completely cover the top of the polish so it looks like it's chipping. Also there is glue all over my fingers from the acrylics. she glued my my fingernails to my finger didn't even try to fix it. Also she never gave me her name so I have no idea who she was just that she was seated in the far back left corner of the shop. South Bend has finally started experiencing beautiful weather. Total sandal wearing impulse move, my friend and I wanted to get some pedicures to match this awesome weather. I'm a total yelper and decided to do a quick search to help narrow out choices. The place is clean and as soon as we walked in we were greeted and asked what we wanted done. After mentioning pedicures, we started searching through colors - the lady that greeted us came back and apologized because there weren't two pedicure stations next to each other. Totally not a big deal at all, and I thought it was very considerate of her to apologize for it. I was surprised to see a mixture of not only your Vietnamese but also Caucasian manicurists working there. They were all friendly and got right to business. There was minimal conversation, but I'm completely fine with that- the other ladies seemed to be pretty chatty so I'm sure it depends on how talkative you want to be. They did a base coat, colors and too coat. Did a great job in my nails, even though I feel like they cut my cuticles a little low and caused a little discomfort. Beyond that I really liked them compared to other places I've been. I will say they were a little rushed as more people started to come in, and I did feel a little rushed to finish up. But the owner came and was seemingly scolding the receptionist for not removing the top layer of my dip powder nails fast enough, so he took over and started going ridiculous fast with a dremil tool while scolding other workers and not really paying attention to what he was doing with my nails at all. He gave me a $10 discount after doing this to me. I think good customer service would have been to remove any charges and allow me to pay what I wanted as my showing forgiveness. But holy crap! It hurt, especially when they had me soak it in the acetone! I'm never letting him touch me again. My husband was very annoyed that I paid for my nails at all, but I'm my mind I was thinking that it wasn't the nail techs fault it was the guy who was being impatient.
