Great place. Everyone very friendly. Open kennel area for dogs to play while waiting. I thought it would look cleaner or more spa feeling. But not bad or anything. I guess I was thinking more like a spa I would go to but it is just for pets. No need for too fancy. Good price and they came home clean and happy. I was super late and they had no problems waiting. We have been bringing our Shih Tzu here since it opened. Unhappy with all previous groomers, Amy is the absolute best. She has never once nicked our dog. The prices are very reasonable and the open environment allows the dogs to interact and play with the other dogs while waiting for pickup. I can't recommend Elite Paw Spa highly enough. read more

We couldn't be more pleased with the bath and de-shedding that was done on our elderly German Shepherd, Brody. He is almost 12 years old and has back issues, so he can't stand for long periods at a time. The groomers took their time and gave him plenty of breaks and he was still done and ready to go home in only 2 1/2 hours! Their prices are very reasonable. I love, love, love this place! I've been taking my Old English Sheepdog there for about a year now and despite being kicked out of other grooming salons, she loves to go there. Set up an appointment, and took in our Australian cattle dog, who was carrying his winter coat. The staff was friendly and all dogs in the shop looked happy. They gave Foxie the best bath and summertime haircut he has ever had, just in time for the June heat. He is now cooler and lighter, and the cut looks beautiful, with trimming around his ears and head. Once home he wagged his tail for 24 hours, because he was so happy to be relieved of all that fur. And they trimmed his claws, which he had been chewing on. We will definitely be back! read more

I found Elite Paw Spa from Yelp reviews shortly after moving to Arizona and am most grateful! This is a great place! There is a clean space for the dogs be with other dogs with someone always on watch. If a dog isn't social, or is shy or small, there is a smaller safe area for them. Everything is kept clean! It is easy to make an appointment and every groomer is well trained and experienced. They work on all kinds and sizes of dogs and each looks amazing! I take my 3 Shuh Tzus there on a regular basis. They are as happy to go as I am to take them. I cannot recommend Elite Paw Spa more highly. read more

I can tell you without any doubt that the owners of Elite Paw Spa (Amy and Michelle) are the real deal. They both love grooming and have been doing it for a very long time. They love all animals and love grooming (even the challenging ones). I bring my German Shepherd and Husky to them every now and then to get them cleaned up. My husky is the one in the slideshow on the top! I'm going to be super honest here. I was a groomer and I was taught by Amy and Michelle. I groomed for four years and I know them very well. All that said I am still a customer of theirs which is why I feel that I can write a review here. Knowing them as well as I do and seeing many other groomers in my career I can honestly say that I would not take my dogs to any groomer. I would and do take my dogs to Elite Paw Spa. They are very picky with the groomers and bathers they hire as well. Everyone there has a ton of experience and loves the animals they work on. The environment is like no other grooming shop I have ever seen. Dogs free to mingle and socialize with soothing music in the background. It even smells better than any grooming salon I have been / worked in. Its always clean and tidy not to mention the lobby where you are free to sit and read while you wait if you want. Bar none, the best grooming salon I have been in ever. Anything less and I would just groom my dogs myself! read more

I took my dogs in to the Elite Paw Spa while trying to find a good groomer. I was very disappointed with their lack of communication. I left my dog knowing he needed to be shaved from his hair being matted due to sweater weather in the winter, but I asked them to only trim his ears. The girl wrote it on the paper even. When my dog was done he no longer had the long ears that his breed should have. They were shaved down to the skin. After calling the store to let them know that they should have commented to me any variation of what was discussed for the grooming, I was told the owner would call me and clear it up. I have never heard from the owner. Apparently communication is an issue there. It has now been 3 months since I took him there and he now has 1/2" of hair on his ears that should be long haired. I suspect it will take a full year for him to get back to normal. You can't fix that. I would never trust a pet to this establishment again. read more

We recently moved to Mesa from the Chicago area. I have 3 small dogs (mini-schnauzer, shorkie, yorkie) and they are my babies! We had an AWESOME groomer that has cared for all 3 of them since they were babies so I was really worried about finding a comparable groomer here in AZ. Based on research and reviews I decided to try the Elite Pet Spa, mostly because of the "free range" policy which is the same as their previous groomer. I was NOT disappointed, the staff are so friendly and helpful and were happy to listen to all of my instructions and requests and fulfill them with a smile. They even recommended a local vet so that I could get their shots updated here. We will definitely continue to use Elite Pet Spa! read more

Took my two older dogs (12 and 15) here today for the first time upon recommendation by neighbors. They did a great job! They weren't super familiar with my breed but I told them what I wanted done and they did exactly as I requested. They even called to ask if it was ok to do something before they did it. Brought my little chihuahua-papillon rescue puppy for her first grooming appointment. She is a timid little 1-year-old and I had hoped they would be gentle with her to avoid making it a traumatic experience. They went above and beyond to handle her with care and pamper her. She was bathed and trimmed and even had a cute bow in her hair. Denise did a great job. All the groomers told me how sweet she was and that they wanted to bring her home. I will definitely return. Great business! I've been here twice before and everyone was so friendly and the did a great job grooming, except they didn't ask if I wanted my boy's ears trimmed (they left a little bald spot). Other than that he looked great and was happy. Then, I went to drop him off for daycare, as I am post surgery and need to rest but he needs play time. The girl who greeted me seemed a little snippy or frustrated. Maybe she was having a bad day? I, of all people, understand what it's like to have bad days. It just stinks that most judgements of a business are formed during the initial greeting and/or interaction with the employees. I've heard good things about this groomer however every time I call to try and make an appointment it just rings and rings and rings.... wish I could get someone to pick up the phone! I've tried on multiple days at multiple times and can't get anyone to pick up. It's now the end of another business day with me not being able to get ahold of them. Best place to go if you want a thorough job! We have used multiple groomers trying to find one that can properly shave my golden retriever without making her look like a mushroom on top. I explained what I wanted and they exceeded my expectations! My dogs love going there and they recently began a "chauffeur" service where you can have them pick up your pets and drop them off for $20. Very clean, very thorough and they do a beautiful job every time we come in. They also offer a de-shedding service which we get on our black lab to help keep her from getting hair every where in the house. Wonderful grooms, reasonable prices, excellent service. Bought a Groupon and decided to check this place out and give it a shot. I usually take my dog to Petsmart and have not been satisfied and always spend $50 to $60 for a 20lb dog. Upon entering the shop I was greeted by two very nice ladies. The shop was also very cute and I felt comfortable there. My cavalier was groomed better then he had ever been groomed. His tail was wagging when I picked him up and he looked great! I love Elite Paw Spa. My GSD was a very fearful pup with extreme separation anxiety. Elite Paw Spa opened and I thought what the heck I will check it out. I walked in and WOW the owner spent a lot of time with me and sharing her experience. She said bring your baby by and we can try it out. Getting Ruger in there was next to impossible(it was liking dropping your child off for the first time) pulling, crying, the whole 9 yards. Well it didn't take long before he was very social and today we don't even mention "daycare" out loud unless we are ready to walk out the door. The vet was very pleased. When I mentioned Elite Paw Spa he stated, "I have heard some really great things about that establishment." The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and make both you and your pet comfortable. My pup (Old English Sheepdog) has always hated grooming and I've even been told she was not welcome back, or they couldn't finish her because she was so awful. I took my Belgian Malinois/Chow mix here today for a full shave-down. I dropped him off at 7:30am and he was done by 10am. He looked wonderful when I picked him up and the staff was super friendly, kind, informative, compassionate, and patient. My dog has leash aggression and gets super excitable around other dogs. (He also has a nasty tendency of playing too aggressively.) He tends to not want to cooperate and struggles a lot when you need him to sit still. The reason for the shave-down was medicinal: He has skin allergies and our vet suggested getting rid of his long coat to keep allergens from being trapped against his skin. I warned them of his behavioral issues as well as his skin condition and the multiple scabs he had and they said they could handle it... and they did! He was a super happy boy when I came to pick him up and the staff did well keeping him away from the other dogs there. They even welcomed him to come back! As far as price, they seem comparable to other groomers. If we ever need a groomer in the future, I plan on returning here! :-) read more
