One of the worst parts about moving to a new place is finding a new salon. I tried a couple others in the area and they were just okay. Needed a highlight and a trim and decided to try Elite Salon because it was a short trip from campus. I'm so happy to have finally found my go-to salon! I had Tiffany to do my color yesterday, and her service was better than anyone I've had. I've been to many high end salons, and I greatly appreciated how she specifically matched the color in the picture I showed, as well as letting me see the sample colors and choosing what I liked. She had an amazing vision, put her own personal flare into it, and it came out so great. I am extremely happy with my results, and it was a great price. I had the best experience. I went it needing a color correction from a messed up dye job on my roots. I had dark roots then a brassy section then light blonde ends. Courtney took her time making sure everything was exactly how I wanted and that she didn't miss a single thing. She walked me through every step of the process. Everyone was very polite Courtney offered me a drink multiple times and other employees smiled and complimented the end result of my hair. I loved it and will definitely be returning. read more

I can't say enough good things about Elite Salon. Everyone is always so nice and attentive, my best hair salon experience in Blacksburg by far. I've been going to Tiffany for several years (after holding on to my home stylist for much too long because I was never impressed with anyone else in the NRV) and even though I can be a bit high maintenance about my hair, she is always so patient and so thoughtful and really takes the time to understand what I want. It's simple, but it means a lot! She's the first person I trusted to dye my hair and her obvious knowledge and skill put me at ease. Unfortunately, I recently moved away, but I drove back for one last haircut because I'm not ready to move on yet. read more

Courtney did a simple 3inch trim off my hair and a U shape cut in the back with a slight layer on the bottom and completely fixed my botched self cut angles I made around my face. Then just did a simple blow dry to add extra volume to show the layer and angle and it was Perfect!!!!. I've never done something as simple as a cut to my hair at a salon and been so extremely happy with it I Love and Highly Recommend Courtney if she has the time to do your hair!!! 5 stars for the salon and especially Courtney... Highly recommend! Courtney worked me into her schedule today after I called Friday frantically asking for an appointment to fix an Aline bob another stylist had botched beyond description. Courtney evened up the sides, debulked/thinned my thick hair and cut and blended the back as it should have been cut initially. I was afraid I would lose length in the front but Courtney even saved that! I am beyond pleased! I booked a return visit and made an appointment for my daughter who just graduated college and is starting her first professional job in August. Courtney greeted me at the door and despite Covid 19 restrictions, made me feel welcome. She is warm, enthusiastic, talented, listens to her client and is a total professional. I'm thrilled to have found someone who knew what to do with my capricious "white girl fro." Her name is Holly and she's a designer at this Salon. I learned about her through googling curly hair cutting in the vicinity. The other glowing reviews are right: she gave me an awesome haircut, listening to what I wanted and laying out her own input. (And she tells her curly-haired clients that for the week after a cut, adjustments are free if there turn out to be oopsies.) That was the best $31 plus tip that I've spent in a while. I thought long about this review since April but I read the owners passage about Christ and her devout Christianity makes me write this. In April I went here to my stylist to have highlights I have gone here for 1plus years,blonde highlights. Another operator offered to mix color. The color is placed on my hair at first looks fine, few minutes later, it is looking dark, I am told oh that happens give it time, getting darker and darker, rinsed,my ash blonde is now mahogany. I said you totally dyed my hair,no highlights it was black. My hair has never been black. The woman sitting in the chair of the operator who mixed my color had black hair I said I think she mixed-up our colors, I was told no. They rinsed my hair and said they could change it back. They used a product that turned my hair Lucile Ball orange red. My operators face was of shock I said what is wrong, she said nothing. I asked for a mirror, was not given one so stood up looked in the mirror and saw my horror. At this point"saidChristian"owner comes in and assures me all will be okay,another product used, now blue green. After 7 hours it was okay. The owner charged me $60 when I go back never says hi or thank you. I don't see the Christian or good owner. Don't think I will be going back. read more

She not only listed to what I wanted, but asked questions to make sure I felt comfortable and that my hair came out perfectly. Usually super sketched out when trying a new hair salon especially when I haven't spoken personally with anyone who's been seen by a stylist but today I had an excellent experience! Lorenzo did a fabulous job on my hair and I'm always nervous about losing more length than I have to but that definitely was not the case. He gave me so much information on better maintaining my hair and keeping it healthy plus he was super efficient with the time window we had since I was in rush (typical me) and I left loving my hair and having it feel, look healthier than ever! If I could rank this salon lower than a 1 I would. I went into the salon asking for a master colorist to lighten my previously darkened hair for spring break. I told her my color history and showed her at least 20 pictures of my goal color. And she completely destroyed my hair. I had orange spots of color, half highlights and my hair was completely fried and damaged. There is no way I was served by a master stylist. I had to take time out of my schedule to come back to my salon in my hometown and spend 3 hours JUST to get it back to an acceptable color. 300 dollars later and my hair is more damaged than ever and not even close to my goal color. You're better off buying a box of color from CVS and doing it yourself before you go here. read more

She took the time to explain all of the cut and color processes she was using, and then took even more time with me to show me how I can style my hair at home, and showed me different products I can use to help! One of my worst salon experiences ever. First of all, the space is entirely too small and cramped. The atmosphere, decor and music were extremely boring and dated and the staff is unfriendly. Nothing about this place makes you feel relaxed or pampered. I asked for a cut and color with specific instructions and had a clear image on my phone of the look I wanted. Not only was the end result a complete letdown and hardly noticeable, the stylist that worked with me was extremely unprofessional, reeked of cigarette smoke, and even complained about multiple aspects of her job and seemed completely apathetic about being a hair stylist WHILE SHE WAS COLORING MY HAIR. The one star I give is for the free conditioning treatment I recieved. I do not recommend this salon and I will not be returning. read more
