Mr. Ono was super detailed and took his time cutting, washing, and styling my hair to the style I wanted so super appreciative of him! It was $90 for the extra long women's haircut. I typically ask for layered haircut kind of similar to a butterfly haircut, and I think he delivered. There was a nice massage hairwash too. I took a photo the day after of my haircut so the styling wore off. I love how he took extra time to check every layer while cutting and styling! Bonus points for their super cute doggo in the shop. She told me she could do it, but unfortunately, it became clear during the haircut that she did not know how to achieve the style. She cut my hair short and then tried to use a hairdryer and comb to make it look like the pictures, but it did not work. I showed her the reference photos again and asked if she could get help from someone else. She asked a colleague, who showed her how to cut the style, but she still seemed unsure how to do it. Eventually, the owner had to step in and finish the haircut for me. For a long-hair haircut that cost about $100 total ($85 for the haircut plus a $15 tip), I was very disappointed with the experience. At this price point, I expected the stylist to be able to achieve the hairstyle she had confirmed she could do, or to be upfront from the beginning if it was outside her expertise. Unfortunately, based on my experience, it was not worth the price or time.

I like this salon. It isn't my favourite but it is good! Candy is very nice and she gave me a really nice hair cut. She listed to what I wanted and didn't do any thign crazy. I am always scared because hair dressers seem to sometimes just go crazy doing what they think is best, without considering what you actually asked for. This is a big no no for me. I usually know what i want done with my hair, and candy is kind enough ot give her advice but always sticks within the limits of what I want. I would definitely recommend you go here if you need a nice haircut! read more

Extremely disappointed with Elite Salon. I had a confirmed appointment today at 10:30 AM, but received a vague message at 8:30 AM stating it was canceled due to illness, without specifying who or when. Despite multiple attempts to contact them for clarification, I received no response. Upon arriving at the salon, I found it locked with no one present. Their policy of only allowing cancellations two days in advance is unreasonable. Lack of communication and respect for clients' time is evident. Disappointed and won't be returning. read more

She's so great! I called a day or two before and she had spots on the day that I wanted. It's $30 for your first haircut too. It's a little bit more than I'm used to paying but she's nice enough that it's worth it! I've got thin Asian hair and she gave me an awesome A-Line. Pros: 1. She speaks Cantonese and English. 2. She tells you that you're ruining your hair by using Pantene and finally you feel justified buying $20 non-Sulfate shampoo. 3. I had some trouble finding a good haircut when I first moved to the city, but then I found Candy. I even followed her from her old salon to the new one she opened up on Green St because I couldn't find anyone who does as good a job as she. She knows what she is doing and will give you advice, but if you go in knowing what you want, Candy will listen and give you just that. If she can cut my hair, she can cut anyone's hair! I had the worst experience I have ever had at a hair salon. I genuinely cannot recommend this salon based on how I was treated. I booked a **partial highlight**, meaning only around the crown of my head would be highlighted. I have long, thick hair, but because I only get partial highlights, this has never been an issue with any stylist I've seen before. From the moment I arrived, Gina was rude and dismissive. As soon as she touched my hair, she laughed and made faces at a coworker in the mirror. She told me I should have informed her that my hair was this long. Feeling uncomfortable, I even asked if she wanted me to leave, and she said no. Trying to make the appointment less awkward, I attempted to make small talk. She told me she didn't want to talk to me and handed me a magazine instead. When I asked, "So you don't want to talk to me during this whole appointment?" she responded, "Honestly, no." We then sat in complete silence for the next hour and a half. The comments only became more insulting from there. While washing my hair, she repeatedly told me how desperately I needed a haircut and made negative remarks about my hair. As she brushed it, she laughed and said she had "never seen someone's hair so matted before." She also commented that whatever "cheap" hair products I was using, I needed to stop. I explained that I was happy to brush my own hair and that my hair only becomes tangled after bleach is applied, which has been my experience after every highlighting appointment. She simply laughed and said, "We can agree to disagree," and continued making comments about my hair, saying she had never seen anyone's hair like mine. At one point, I genuinely asked how long it normally takes her to do her own hair because 2.5 hours felt like a long time for a partial highlight To her. Instead of answering my question professionally, she responded, "We're not all robots, hun." To make matters worse, she then told me that if I wanted my hair blow-dried, I would have to pay extra, even though blow-drying was supposed to be included in the $250 service I booked. She also said, in a confrontational tone, that she only wanted to dry my roots because her job is "actually rewarding, believe it or not." What upset me the most was that I gave her an opportunity at the very beginning of the appointment to decline the service if my hair was more work than she expected. Instead, she chose to proceed while making degrading comments and treating me disrespectfully throughout the appointment. I have been getting my hair highlighted for years and have never experienced anything remotely close to this. Every other stylist I've seen has been kind, professional, and respectful, regardless of my hair length or thickness. This was, without question, the most unprofessional, rude, and childish salon experience I have ever had. I will never return and would not recommend this salon to anyone looking to be treated with basic courtesy and respect.
