My german shepherd was bleeding pretty badly from a split nail and our regular vet could not see us for another 2 weeks, so i needed to find an urgent care clinic that would take walk-ins. I was worried about carrying or moving my little 90 lb. guy by myself, so i wanted to find a clinic in my area and stumbled upon this mobile service that had an urgent care opening within a couple of hours. Dr. Kent arrived at our apartment with 2 nurses and at first my pup was not happy to be touched near his wound. We were given some meds for anxiety and told us they would be back in an hour. When the team returned, they returned with a clear, efficient plan: within a minute of their arrival, they had Eli on his side and got to work. He was inspected, operated on, and bandaged without a peep from my pup. I was left with meds, instructions for care, and a smiling pup. Their attention, care and efficiency was apparent and appreciated. I have had issues with some vets because of my pup's size, with some suggesting that he be put to sleep before they would see him, which is not a stress i would want to put him through. When Dr. Kent came to my home, I clearly remember her administering my cat's flea medication. Almost immediately afterward, my cat jumped on top of my kitchen cabinets, began foaming at the mouth, and appeared visibly distressed. I was extremely concerned. Dr. Kent told me this was completely normal and not to worry. Since then, I have learned more about topical flea medications, including the importance of applying them in a location where a cat cannot lick or ingest the product. Looking back, I am deeply disturbed by this experience. Based on what I observed and what I have since learned, I no longer have confidence in Dr. Kent's care. You can read my email communication with Dr Kent and her assistant via the screenshots attached, as well as her voicemail to me, noting she will be 20 minutes late (arriving at 9:20am, not 8:20am as she stated, since my appointment was at 9am. Dr Kent and staff are awesome. They showed up to my place, immediately got started on making friends with my nervous cats. They looked at my more terrified cat first and got to work on a very painful but thorough anal gland expression. They gave him a shot to help with inflammation for a week and otherwise gave him a clean bill of health. My other cat got a thorough looking at, checked his teeth, ears, etc. They made friends with him by tempting him with those gogurt style treat paste things and he loved them and let them do anything lol. Dr Kent, after the expression you did on Sven, he has since started acting more normal and happy in ways we hadn't seen in a while. As good as it gets. Our cat is terrified of the vet and turns into a monster when we go. Dr. Kent is really the most humane and sensical option. Less stress for *everyone*. Normally when we go to the vet he has to be sedated and that breaks my heart because he's just so scared. Truly amazing vet! Our beloved cat had to be hospitalized three times in a month for an issue with his kidneys. After the hospitalization we jumped from one vet to another to find one who was able to give us answers to the many questions we had and give our cat a comprehensive treatment. I was desperate to find a vet for my 94 year old neighbor's dogs with ailing health. I couldn't get an appointment anywhere, would've had to wait months. I guess with Covid everything is booked for weeks which isn't good when you need an emergency visit. Everyone was suggesting to go to the vet hospital on Sepulveda but there would have been hours upon hours in the waiting room. Plus super expensive. Someone suggested elite vet care on my next door app so I gave it a try and it was wonderful just as good if not better than going to a vets office and the prices were basically the same, perhaps even less. First appointment...excellent. Follow up...excellent. Second appointment...the opposite. The second appointment started over one hour late. Was contacted saying they'd be 30 minutes, then 40 minutes, then one hour late. When given feedback about this, had defensive behavior and blamed other clients, weather, traffic, parking situation, as well as the walking distance to our appointment. Treatment was administered knowing it wouldn't help to solve the situation, while simultaneously recommending euthanasia. Lastly, any elite service in any industry I have enjoyed, would have sent a hand written note upon the pet's death. read more
