Making the decision that it was time for our beloved dog to pass away was extremely painful and difficult. We had the absolute joy & pleasure of having our boxer in the family for over 10 years. She could not be nicer or more compassionate, she has a gentle, warm energy. She sat on the floor with my sweet girl and listened to stories about her. Although it was such a difficult, sad situation, I would not have changed a single thing about the process with Dr. Shana. I felt the process beautifully honored my cat's life. It was respectful and loving. I've never done an in-home euthanasia before and I will not do it again at the vets. It was a gift to both myself and my cat. If you're like me, you didn't realize how suddenly your pet would need end of life care. Long story short, Dr. Shana was an angel sent to us in our most desperate moments. Longer story, our 15 year old pitbull mix went downhill so suddenly that we were left scrambling to find in-home euthanasia services. Not only was it difficult having to call place after place and explain our situation, but some of the places had really high prices that made us feel like we'd have to turn to in-hospital euthanasia, and most were not able to come for several days. We really wanted to give Murphy the comfort of dying in his own home but he was in serious pain and we couldn't wait 2 or 3 days. The universal praise you'll find in other reviews is wholly justified. Dr. Shana is compassionate and caring. The reception staff is communicative and insightful. I can't imagine finding more comfort in the care of complete strangers during such a difficult circumstance than we found in Comforting Creatures.
