Our Chad. Always in our hearts.

Dr. Shana is a blessing. We had six pets and as they aged we knew we wanted in-house euthanasia for two reasons. First, because we feel it's important to say goodbye at home, surrounded by the humans and animals that matter in the departing pet's life. Secondly, since we are a multi-pet household, we feel it lets the surviving pets know what happened instead of one day the pet is here and the next day he's gone. Last November, we had to say goodbye to the first of our pets, our beloved toy poodle. We reached out to Comforting Creatures and the person who schedules the visits was so very kind over the phone. I requested a specific time frame, because we wanted to give our pet a long and loving last day. Dr. Shana was able to accommodate our wishes. When she arrived, she was simply so very kind and loving. We had concerns about whether or not it was too soon. Once we explained what he was experiencing, she let us know that we were doing the right thing. In fact, she told us that many people wait too long because they're not ready to say goodbye. We put our dog first and wanted him to depart with his dignity intact instead of waiting until his issues became more severe. Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is so hard and emotional. Dr. Shana was nothing but caring towards our dog as well as towards us. She made the entire process bearable. She made us feel cared for during this difficult time. Finally, we had contacted other providers and her pricing is extremely fair. We really appreciated that as well.

Dr. Shana is a gift to those of us going through this very difficult time with a pet. She came to my house yesterday to help my elderly cat Dante pass, and she brought love, respect, and and her soothing, caring nature to the process. She talked me through what would happen before we started, and then again as we went through the process. She honored Dante the whole time, and she spoke and acted so lovingly to him, to me, and to my other cat. Once Dante had passed, Dr. Shana bundled him with so much care. There's no way for this process to not be sad, but I feel like she brought so much love and dignity to a difficult time. I'm grateful to her. I had several phone calls ahead of time as well, and her staff was consistently responsive, caring, efficient, and helpful. This is a large expense that comes at a time when you're already hurting, but if you're considering Comforting Creatures at this painful time, Dr. Shana is the right choice. My love to any pet parent going through this right now.

Josh and I eternally grateful for God to send us an angel vet who cares so much, very kind and supportive. Our Roxy cat was suffering from feline injection site sarcoma- we couldn't let her suffering slow & painful death. We were worried about how Dr. vet would treat our Roxy cat but Comforting Creatures staffs were so wonderful helpful & warmly gentle with me on phone/email. Dr. Shana came over our house on time. Oh, she did an amazing job comforting Roxy and us too- we felt so relieved. We cannot thank them enough for being patient, answering my questions and compassionate. Dr. Shana is the best! Thank you so much, Dr. Shana and staffs. We will miss our Roxy.

Dr. Shana was spectacular. So kind, compassionate, and professional. She did a home euthanasia for my girl Katie yesterday, and she & her staff made it as easy & peaceful as possible. I was particularly heartbroken by having to let my kitty go, having lost my mom in 2022. Katie was my mom's cat we took in (pregnant) my last year of high school. She and her 4 children have been in our family for 14 years and are my biggest connection to my mom. I was shopping around for at home services due to Katie's decline after trying to manage her stage 4 Kidney Disease for nearly 2 months. I sent an inquiry in late afternoon and her staff called back to answer my questions promptly the next morning. They answered all my questions compassionately and got me the relevant information to make our appointment. Pricing was fair for at home service, no extra fee for weekend appointment or for rescheduling the timing. They gave a diverse range of times and dates available and were able to accommodate a next day booking when my girl declined further and I decided sooner would be better. And their aftercare options were also diverse as they had the standard options for private and communal cremation, an undecided option if you needed counseling on the different options, as well as an option to handle your own aftercare so you can either save money finding your own services or explore less common options like burial in a pet cemetery or taxidermy. Dr. Shana let me know when she was on the way the day of. I had called her staff ealier to request she come as soon as possible within the 1 hour window due to my girl's condition and she was right on time. She took a bit of time to meet the kitties in our household and answer any questions we had about the process. She was very sweet with my girl; tender, caring, and respectful throughout. She explained what she was doing every step of the way so we felt comfortable with what was happening. It didn't feel drawn out or rushed; it felt just right. She took extra time and care to learn our story, see some pictures of Katie and of my mom, talk to us about how Katie's adult children might respond, and just overall validate our concerns and aid our grieving process. And it was all with a comforting, soft, professional tone, the perfect mix of empathetic and stoic. We got a bit of Katie's fur in a keepsake bag, and they may have different options for keepsakes depending on the aftercare plan choosen. She had many options for payment as well with the option to pay online prior or in person by cash, check, or Zelle. I will use her again in the future, as she and her staff helped us make the best out of the extremely unpleasant experience of losing a treasured feline family member. Dr. Shana, I cannot thank you enough for taking good care of my girl. ‍

Making the decision that it was time for our beloved dog to pass away was extremely painful and difficult. We had the absolute joy & pleasure of having our boxer in the family for over 10 years. We were so grateful for Dr. Shana. She was incredibly patient, compassionate and answered all of our questions before, during and after the procedure (even though we were all ugly crying). The actual procedure was relatively quick as she took her time to make sure our dog was comfortable, even giving him some aroma therapy and a slim Jim. Having Dr. Shana come to our house was a wonderful alternative to taking Hank (our boxer) to his veterinarian. That would've involved getting him into the car, driving over there and waiting in some stale, cold room for god knows how long. Again, it's not an easy decision. But Dr. Shana and her staff at Comforting Creatures are exactly that. They are not only comforting to your pet, they are also comforting to you and your family. RIP Hank. We'll love & miss you forever.

The experience of saying goodbye to a beloved pet is pretty brutal. Our pup had been declining the last few years and it felt so challenging to be objective about what we needed to do. We had been making so many accommodations to keep her comfy... enter Dr. Shana. We had her come over for an initial check and consultation and really felt comfortable with her immediately. She really took the time to watch our sweet Daphne, give her a gentle exam, ask all kinds of questions, and left a lot of space for us all to just be together. After her visit, we talked about what we wanted to do and set up an appointment for the following week. The anticipation was the worst for sure. On the day of, Shana arrived and we all got settled. She handled Daphne and us with such calm and grace. She explained everything including that the initial medication might sting and so Daphne might squirm. (I've had a previous dog euthanized and had a similar experience with that so I was prepared.) During the whole experience, she was as gentle as she could be, calming, and so respectful of Daphne and us. We are just a few days out and I know we did the right thing, even though it hurts. If you're reading this review, I send you love and peace. I'm so sorry that you're going through this.

Dr. Shana Made saying goodbye to our best friend of 14 years bearable. If you are faced with this difficult situation I can't imagine anyone handling it in a more kind, loving, and humane way. I agree with the other reviews which say it is not possible appreciate this service more. Peace, Troy Evans

I don't think that I can ever express enough gratitude to Dr. Shana. She was one of the most gentle & kind people I have ever met & made one of the most difficult days I have ever had to face one filled with loving kindness. From start to finish, she was so thoughtful & spoke so sweetly to our precious little guy "Wally". I have worked for veterinarians for 37 years and can honestly say that I have never met another vet with her kind of genuine heart & spirit. Wally transitioned so peacefully & afterwards, she handled his little body so respectfully my heart felt at total peace. Thank you thank you thank you, I will be forever in your debt for taking such good care of not only our sweet boy but us as well. What a gift you are to those of us who are having to make such a heart wrenching decision.

    Shani B.

Dr. Shana is an angel from heaven. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful person to help our beloved dog end his suffering and leave the physical world. If only everyone could be so lucky to have the privilege of saying goodbye to their best friend with Dr. Shana by their side. Eternally grateful for her service. Consider this our strongest endorsement.

The last thing you want when your fur baby is suffering is to reach voicemail after voicemail. Hearing a compassionate human voice on the other end of the phone brought me so much comfort. She came to my home first thing the next morning. I was worried about my younger Golden Retriever jumping on her or interfering with her care, but she was absolutely wonderful with both of my dogs. She encouraged him to stay in the room with us once he was comfortable with her, and I truly believe that helped him understand what was happening. She was incredibly professional, but I'll never forget one small moment. Out of the corner of my eye, while I was saying my final words and paying my last tributes to my girl, I saw her quietly wiping tears from her eyes. As a healthcare provider myself, I know how often we're expected to wear a mask and stay composed. Seeing that genuine emotion didn't make her seem less professional, it reassured me that she truly cared. In those final moments, your mind races. You question whether you're making the right decision. Seeing her emotion gave me peace because I knew she wasn't simply going through the motions. I knew that if she believed my girl wasn't ready, she would have told me. Most of us are fortunate enough to experience this kind of heartbreak only a few times in our lives. She carries families through it over and over again. That takes an incredible amount of compassion. Thank you for your kindness, your empathy, and for helping my sweet Lilo leave this world peacefully and with dignity. Please take care of yourself, too. The first photo is the day Oliver met Lilo as a puppy, their first photo together. The second was taken just before the veterinarian arrived to help Lilo pass. This is not my first review of our beloved Dr G, and I just recommended her to 6 more people again just these past 2 weeks. She's not only compassionate, present and knowledgeable, but also she does not oversell." Besides all the regular check ups, Dr G. has performed 2 substantial surgeries on my pup in the last 8 years, and has been extremely kind, providing valuable reassuring step-by-step updates throughout, especially aware that I had lost my beloved first dog, (with a different vet), when he did not make it through the anesthesia... In the 8 years Dr G. has been our one and only vet; everyone I have sent to Dr G. has fallen in love with her, and has thanked me for the referral. I trusted Dr G and her small compassionate team with the euthanasia of my precious second dog, Handsome. She is truly an Angel on Earth. At her Chatsworth location, I love that she's created a lovingly cozy "home environment" for the euthanasia experience. That it so needed during that deeply emotional time, and more veterinary offices ought to follow her example. I found her many years ago when I was dissatisfied with a busy veterinary front desk in Sherman Oaks, after they had made errors in my first dog's chart. Unfortunately he passed, and I learned that finding the RIGHT professional truly makes ALL the difference. So yes, I drive from Sherman Oaks. Gratefully so :) I am thankful that my cherished pups are her patients. Her ethics, her care, her kindness, her knowledge, her integrity - she's our number 1!!!

We were okay paying so much in order to have his final moments be comfortable at home rather than on a cold clinic table, but we had a pretty awful experience. When witnessing this service in the past from other practitioners, a sedative was given to the dog prior to the lethal injection via IV. For our appointment however, the vet explained that a sedative comes before the lethal injection, but instead of setting up an IV for that, she abruptly stuck him in the back with a needle. He began yelping and crying out in pain and frantically running all over our home VERY distressed. It was at this time that the vet informed us it was likely burning and itching inside of him, despite not warning us about that. I went to grab him and bring him back to the couch so I could hold him and she did the same thing again, causing the same reaction. By the time I got ahold of him and brought him back to the couch again to hold him in my arms he was so sedated he was basically already gone. Completely limp and comatose. I tried my best to position him on my lap on the couch while she did the lethal injection, but at that point he was pretty much gone. So his last moments were spent in pain, burning and itching, crying and confused, and running to find somewhere to hide. It did not feel humane and did not bring us any sort of peace about the already impossible decision. We are both heartbroken because he was truly so innocent and sweet and we went out of our way to try to ensure his final moments were filled with peace and dignity like he deserved, but instead we watched him pass in a state of fear and terror. I'm still a bit in shock over how it all went down, but I wanted to share this feedback for anyone considering going the same route. Respectfully, I would look elsewhere.

I hope that you are reading reviews of IVS Mobile Vets for any reason other than why I sought their services. But if that time has come, when your beloved pet can no longer continue pain-free and without complications, you are told you have options. Someone told me to "drop him off at a shelter" and "start the grieving process". Others said to take him to a vet and have him euthanized at the clinic. Cost being a factor, I was mortified at the prospect of having to consider either of the above options. Abandoning a family member to die alone and wonder why? Who can do that? I came very close to having to consider that option; that is until I found IVS Mobile Vets. Encouraged by glowing reviews, I called to inquire about end-of-life care services and pricing. Dr. Moore answered my call, and even before we could get to details, she solemnly and compassionately listened to me go on and on about my little Donnie, and validated my immense grief over what was to come. Moreover, despite prices for everything everywhere being at an all-time high, Dr. Moore quoted me at-home euthanasia and private cremation for almost $200 LESS than the next lowest quote that I obtained... and I had called over a dozen vets and organizations. Donnie went to sleep on February 15, at about 1pm. In the comfort and safety of his own home, while lying in the bed that we shared for over 13 years, he drifted peacefully, and I held him until his frail little body started to cool, I don't know if it was a 1/2 hour or 1/2 a day, but Dr. Moore left us alone and gave me the time I needed for closure. Dr. Moore was gentle, patient, and truly compassionate. Despite it being the most heartbreaking day of my life, the occasion was peaceful and life-affirming, and I will mourn and cherish that memory for the rest of whatever's left of my own life. Every corner of my home is a mine field of Donnie memories, and I can't envision a day when I could come home and not long to see his little face in the upstairs window, waiting for me to open the door. But, I am forever comforted to know that I did right by my little guy, loving and caressing him to the very end. Donnie's ashes were delivered to me in person about a week later, with a heartfelt card, dignified packaging, and supplemental literature on grieving. Thank you, Dr. Moore, for your kindness, compassion and integrity. Truly an angel of mercy.

Dr. Erica sent us the most amazing sympathy card a few days later that touched my heart deeply. Honor Pet has not only been there throughout this difficult journey, but their kindness, compassion, professionalism and guidance have meant more to me and my family than they can ever know. Today, Stella is back home at her final resting place, where she belongs...they sent her home to us in this incredible Honor box which carried her remains, a mini glass bottle of her fur, a candle to burn if/when I need to feel her presence, a digital print of her beautiful little "chocolate chip nose" we all loved and adored, a package of Forget-Me-Not seeds to plant in her honor, and a letter conveying their deepest sympathy for our great loss. It was all so overwhelming and thoughtful. If anyone is faced with such a difficult decision as this, and you are like me, confused and doubting whether you're making the right end-of-life choice, I cannot recommend Honor Pet enough. I promise, you will be blessed and given the truth and confidence as to when that right time comes. Stella never suffered, because Dr. Shea went over her symptoms/behavior, but when she started showing signs that she was ready, I recognized them and knew. My Stella no longer is suffering... It was quite stressful calling in over those two weeks of delay to figure out if and when my dog's ashes would be ready. A proactive message from their side would've made the experience a lot better as we needed to keep calling in to figure out what was happening while also grieving. The box we received back was lovey with a candle, hair clippings, flower seeds, and urn. I do wish the digital nose print was more accurate in terms of the size. He's a small dog and the print is just a bit blown up to the size of a larger dog.. but nonetheless it was a nice box which included several things.
