Paw-print (in clay) keepsake. Its perfect
Jasmyn S.

My visit to Honor Pet was a sad one, but their team was very comforting during this time. While I was only there to pick up my keepsake, they offered me a beverage and even a private room to have some time to myself to grieve and/or celebrate life. The space was calming & inviting. I ordered my keepsakes online, which was a very easy process. Honor Pet also offers free support groups, which is such a thoughtful option for us fur-parents going through tough times.

Honor Pet was presented to us via Access Animal Hospital at a time where everything was raw, uncertain but knowing we only wanted the best for our girl, Daisy. From the time she was placed into their care, they were stellar. We received an email to make a selection within a day, though I has not ready to face, but with the kindly worded compassionate email I was able to. We also received update emails along the way until it was time to bring her home. When we went to Honor Pet to bring her home we were pleasantly surprised to see how comforting the space was, and the staff was so kind and compassionate. Giving us the option of taking our time, and if we wanted to go into a separate room to receive her, should we want. When we received our girl, she was presented in a beautiful and compassionate box. It was more than I expected in a very comforting way. Her memorial item wrapped in beautiful tissue respectfully placed in the box with care, and a beeswax candle in a pouch worded "light a candle think of me in your heart I'll always be" which made me cry. It was such a touching gesture. I feel they really understood how truly hard it is to lose your family member and what a difficult time it is. I have so much comfort in knowing I have our girl's remains not mixed with another's. I didn't know what to expect; Daisy was my first dog, but I can't say enough how much having had Honor Pet, looking back on it all, made such a hard time more comforting and helped ease, even if a bit, into a transition I didn't expect to happen so quickly. I feel very blessed to have found them.

It took me a while to write this, but I couldn't thank Honor Pet more for helping me through the toughest decision I have ever had to make. Dr. Scott is truly a godsend. I couldn't recommend Honor Pet more for how courteous, gentle, and timely they were through the entire process. I couldn't thank them more if I could. I highly suggest Honor Pet if you want an understanding team to help you through the difficult decision of saying goodbye to your beloved dog or cat. They are quite frankly the best price point to meet your needs, and they offer free counseling after to talk to others that are going through something similar.

I was totally caught off guard (in the best way possible) when I saw my sweet Zoey's nose print. I was not expecting it. It made me burst into tears but I am thankful that I'll have her nose print with me until I join her in the after life. They also gave their sweetest condolences, provided resources for grieving and memorabilia to honor her. Thank you guys

After contacting 5 to 6 different providers for an urgent same day visit, Dr Scott was able to come within 1 hour notice. He was incredible in helping us ease our 11 year old golden retriever across the rainbow bridge. Honor Pet also included an honor box in their service price and made available many other options for remembering our sweet boy. What an incredible service Honor Pet provides pet owners in tough situations. Highly recommend.

Honor Pet was incredible; so compassionate and caring and made the difficult decision I had to make for my sweet cat Zeus much less heartbreaking. They allowed me to spend time with Zeus in a very soothing and comfortable room with candles and very light music before Dr Scott and a vet entered the room and spent time speaking with me and answering questions I had. So grateful that this turned out to actually be a beautiful spiritual experience instead of a negative or doubtful one.

In such a tough situation, everyone at Honor Pet made everything go as positively as it possibly could. They stayed open incredibly late for us and they were so welcoming and caring. The bouquet-making and note-writing/painting stations were such a wonderful process as well, and even though we brought quite a bit of items to accompany our dog through the aquamation process, the added bouquet and painting were so nice to include as well. Everything from their end was handled with such care and respect from the intake/billing to the actual cozy cart that took our dog to the back room. The employees could not have been better. And the box that awaited us just a few days later was beautiful, full of an assortment of heartwarming items along with our dog's remains. If you're unfortunately in the situation we found ourselves in with our dog, go with Honor Pet.

I came across this place and they answered my call right away with so much kindness and empathy during such a difficult moment. I truly appreciated how compassionate and understanding they were throughout the entire process. Within just an hour or two, they were able to come pick up my boy, and they kept me updated every step of the way so I never felt left wondering what was happening. They communicated clearly, let me know when everything was ready, and made an incredibly painful experience feel a little less heavy. I also chose a package that included his fur clipping, a paw print, and a beautiful box for his ashes with his photo placed on the front. Receiving those keepsakes meant so much to me and made everything feel a little more personal and comforting during such a heartbreaking time. I'm truly grateful for the care, respect, and compassion they showed both me and my cat. Thank you again for helping me through one of the hardest moments of my life.

The urns were beautifully presented, the clay paw prints and even wildflower seeds made the keepsake feel especially thoughtful and healing. His compassion echoes what many other reviewers have shared, and from our experience, those sentiments ring absolutely true. Scott was incredibly gentle when handling both of our cats, delicate both in how he carried them and packaged them. Everything came back to us with such precision and care--a mahogany urn, labeled beautifully, with the poem "Rainbow Bridge", paw print, and flower seeds tucked inside. It felt like a ceremony, rather than merely a service. During an emotionally fragile time, Scott's thoughtful demeanor and professionalism brought us comfort. We deeply appreciate his kindness--he is truly one of the most considerate people we've ever met. There is no better way to honor a beloved pet; knowing they were treated with love and respect. We had the pleasure of Dr. Susan Chao come out to our home on Friday, March 20. We had a 9 am appointment (the first one of the day) and she arrived a little before. She had called me about 15 minutes prior to let me know that she would be arriving within 15 minutes. When she arrived, my husband and I greeted her and had her walk to our backyard, as this was the place I had wanted for our little girl because she loved being in the backyard to sunbathe. Dr. Chao was wonderful at guiding us through the process, explaining every step of the way and allowing us to take our time to say goodbye to Muffin. She also allowed us to give Muffin treats during the process (Muffin's last meal was a chicken nugget from Burger King and pureed chicken that Dr. Chao brought, which Muffin really did enjoy eating). Dr. Chao also did cut a piece of Muffin's fur for us to keep and placed it in a small plastic box, which she put in a small mesh bag and gave it to us as a keepsake. Muffin passed away on March 20, 9:31 am. Dr. Chao gave us some time to spend with Muffin right after and just walked towards the side of the house so that we could have privacy. Afterwards, she placed Muffin in a basket and then we walked with her towards the front of the home so that she could take Muffin with her to eventually be cremated. About two weeks later, I contacted Hearts and Halos to ask if Muffin's ashes were ready for us to pick up (please note that the company can also mail your pet's ashes to you, but we just preferred to pick it up in person). I had a hard time getting ahold of them via telephone, so I emailed the company and was able to arrange for a pickup time. I was told via email that someone was supposed to contact us that day that I had emailed them about Muffin's ashes though... This past Thursday, my husband and I went to Gardena to pick up Muffin's ashes (please note that Hearts and Halos office is now in transition to moving to Hungtinton Beach). When we arrived, an employee came out and gave us a small gift bag, that held her ashes, seeds to plant in her memory and also a small brochure regarding aftercare and additional resources for the grieving process. I do like the box that her ashes came in and also I love the small wooden heart with her name engraved on it and a small halo right above her name. The total cost for these services is $840 (you can pay via check, cash or credit card). You can also have additional items, such as an urn (which cost $60) or your pet's paw print, that will cost extra. If you do not wish to have your pet's ashes back, the cost would go down to $675, in which your pet will be part of a communal process to preserve their ashes and then will be scattered in the company's memory garden. Just as a price comparison, when we had to put down our other 2 dogs at the vet (both of our other dogs were of an emergent case and so we would not have been able to plan for their euthanasian earlier and so we would not have been able to utilize these home euthanasia services even if we had known about them at the time), at minimum, it would have cost $455 if we had made an appointment and had this service done during the day. However, both times we had to rush our dogs to the vet were during after hours and without an appointment, so the cost was around $560, which also did include their ashes. So, these home pet euthanasia services can cost an additional $100- $300 more but we felt it was worth the cost. We did not have to rush and deal with the stress and anxiety of the car ride from our home to the vet and also sit in the waiting room while they prep our dog and then say goodbye to them in the vet's office (where both of our dogs really hated going to the vet). The ability to allow Muffin to be in the comfort of her own home and to have foods that she enjoyed during the process was worth it for us. I highly recommend home pet euthanasia at home if you can afford it. I like to think that this was the much better choice for Muffin and hope that she was happy with her chicken treats right before she left us, keeping her in good spirits than to be stressed and anxious if we had chosen to bring her to the veterinarian instead. Thank you Hearts and Halos for helping us during this process.
