I have no words to express my gratitude. From the moment I made that difficult call and spoke with sweet Sherry (sp?) who was so very helpful, then my comforting talk with Dr. Shea, who was so wonderful and understanding, and above all completely honest with my Stella's overall condition, I couldn't have made this choice without her, I was completely lost and inconsolable. Dr. Shea was my guide in my time of need. When the final day came, Dr. Erica came to our home. She is this beautiful angel, with the most kind and gentle voice. She helped us walk our precious Stella over the Rainbow bridge in the beauty of silence, reverence, and peace, it was so beautiful. Dr. Erica sent us the most amazing sympathy card a few days later that touched my heart deeply. Honor Pet has not only been there throughout this difficult journey, but their kindness, compassion, professionalism and guidance have meant more to me and my family than they can ever know. Today, Stella is back home at her final resting place, where she belongs...they sent her home to us in this incredible Honor box which carried her remains, a mini glass bottle of her fur, a candle to burn if/when I need to feel her presence, a digital print of her beautiful little "chocolate chip nose" we all loved and adored, a package of Forget-Me-Not seeds to plant in her honor, and a letter conveying their deepest sympathy for our great loss. It was all so overwhelming and thoughtful. If anyone is faced with such a difficult decision as this, and you are like me, confused and doubting whether you're making the right end-of-life choice, I cannot recommend Honor Pet enough. I promise, you will be blessed and given the truth and confidence as to when that right time comes. Stella never suffered, because Dr. Shea went over her symptoms/behavior, but when she started showing signs that she was ready, I recognized them and knew. My Stella no longer is suffering... Honor Pet was presented to us via Access Animal Hospital at a time where everything was raw, uncertain but knowing we only wanted the best for our girl, Daisy. From the time she was placed into their care, they were stellar. We received an email to make a selection within a day, though I has not ready to face, but with the kindly worded compassionate email I was able to. We also received update emails along the way until it was time to bring her home. When we went to Honor Pet to bring her home we were pleasantly surprised to see how comforting the space was, and the staff was so kind and compassionate. Giving us the option of taking our time, and if we wanted to go into a separate room to receive her, should we want. When we received our girl, she was presented in a beautiful and compassionate box. It was more than I expected in a very comforting way. Her memorial item wrapped in beautiful tissue respectfully placed in the box with care, and a beeswax candle in a pouch worded "light a candle think of me in your heart I'll always be" which made me cry. I had to say goodbye to my sweet boy earlier this month and it was very heartbreaking. We had taken him to the emergency room and he went to sleep. Today we picked up the remains of a beloved cat who lived a happy 19 years, and we really appreciate the sweet touches Honor Pet included in their service. Besides her ashes and certificate of cremation, we have a clipping of our sweetheart's fur in a tiny bottle, along with a candle, a packet of forget-me-nots to plant in her honor, and something I never thought would be wonderful to have, but is--an imprint of her nose on card stock paper. I'd never heard of water cremation (alkaline hydrolysis) until now. The use of water in the cremation process sounds counterintuitive, and so perhaps is the thinking that it's more ecologically responsible. But the research I'm doing on that seems to verify that this is the case. Californians are rightly concerned about water conservation, so not everyone will agree that this is really the way to go en masse here, but in weighing the factors, I felt good about it. The cost compares to standard flame cremation, and in fact, I found out that my cost with Honor Pet was less than a friend recently paid for a deceased pet's standard cremation. The remains can be shipped to you or you can retrieve them at the DTLA facility. Shipping cremated remains mandates certain regulatory fees, and we opted for pick-up. We were greeted by a very welcoming employee in a lovely waiting room. And our wait there was minimal. Be mindful of parking if you go to the facility. Yeah, it's not easy. But sweetness helps. In comparison to others offering similar services, Honor Pet was anything but corporate. Every communication was very personal, compassionate, and caring. No upsell, no pushiness, we were never rushed. Dr. Scott came to our home and gently and peacefully assisted Mishka into eternal sleep. I could not ask for a better ending to our 16 years together. My cat Cleo passed away on February 28 at a hospital. I paid for his cremation to be done by Honor Pet. Same day I received a text message from them stating that the cremation would take place in 3 days. On March 3rd I contacted them about the status and was told that it would take around 2 weeks before I would be able to pick up the ashes and they would notify me. I never heard from them again. No text, no email, no phone call. On March 26 ( almost a month later)I finally got tired of waiting and decided to call them myself. I was told the ashes were ready to be picked up. On arrival at their facility I found out that the ashes were actually ready on March 9th. My BELOVED CAT's ashes were sitting there for almost 3 weeks and no one contacted me. Of course no responsibility was taken, no apologies were given. They have no integrity. I do not recommend them. read more

I would recommend taking your pet here when it's their time to go. It's a much better experience than an animal hospital, and it's not too expensive. (My total for clinic euthanasia and individual aquamation was $624. When I took my dog to be euthanized at an animal hospital, the cost was higher for a much worse experience.) The prices are all clearly stated online, and you can make online appointments. This was the perfect solution for the sad decision to let Mangoe pass at his time. read more

Working with Honor Pet was the absolute best possible experience for the worst possible situation. Our 6 year old cat's health declined very suddenly after FLV flare up and we had to make the most heartbreaking decision to help him pass peacefully. Within a week his health spiraled so drastically that it seemed like we were in some horrible nightmare. It was so sudden and unexpected when we were advised by our primary care vet that providing humane euthanasia was the only choice. I called Honor Pet since we wanted him to be at home in a familiar place and with family as he passed. From start to finish every interaction I had with staff members was professional, emotionally intelligent, caring, and the sense that they would always take the best care of our baby. When Dr. Scott showed up to assess our boy in determining if this was the best path, he thoroughly reviewed our medical documents and test results and performed a physical assessment of our cat. He had a lengthy conversation about possible outcomes and spoke like he was part of the family and making the decisions with us. We ended up taking our kitty for more test results in the event it wasn't a lost cause to search for care. In the end Dr. Scott had to make a second house call, as the situation became dire. We were assured our furry family member had not hit the turning point where he started to suffer greatly and Dr. Scott gently and compassionately helped our cat take his final sleep.
