Our family dog Brandi was getting progressively sicker due to old age, and we decided that it was finally time to send her to heaven a couple weeks ago after she had a particularly rough night. We were fortunately able to schedule a same day in-home euthanasia appointment on a Saturday, and Dr. Chan came by within a few hours. Dr. Chan explained the whole process thoroughly before she started and answered any questions we had. It was super sad that we had to say goodbye to Brandi, but I'm glad that services like this exist so that you can send your pet to heaven at home in a comfortable and familiar setting. Dr. Chan was super professional and respectful from start to finish.

When we made the heartbreaking decision to put Bella down, Peaceful Paws came to our home and showed love to our girl. They asked about her and talked to her. They made her completely comfortable and brought her treats for her last moments. It was peaceful and quiet as Bella went over the rainbow. I am so grateful for the compassion they showed us during this hard loss- including hugs as they said their good-byes and took Bella with them.

Unfortunately our senior pup, who's lived over a year with a mass on his heart, experienced a sudden sharp decline in health, and we had to make the difficult decision to help him cross the rainbow bridge. Because of the discomfort he was in, how quickly it developed, and the limited options offered by urgent care, we decided that it would be kindest to euthanize him. We wanted a company that could do it in the comfort of our home, so he could spend his final moments in a familiar place surrounded by people who love him. Dr. Chan was gentle, informative, and didn't rush the process along. Our pup went peacefully as we all held him. Dr. Chan allowed for me to bring my cat out afterwards so that he would understand that our dear Ronnie was no longer with us. My cat was scared and didn't want to approach our deceased pup, and Dr. Chan explained that often cats understand what's happened, and can be more intuitive than some other animals. My only constructive feedback is that the answering service for the agency isn't the most warm, across the different agencies we contacted when we were trying to figure out which one we would use. They weren't rude, just kind of lukewarm. We ultimately chose this one because they were local, and offered a same day appointment for an increased cost, and we didn't want our pup to continue suffering. Overall, I would recommend Peaceful Paws if you're having to make this difficult decision for beloved pet.

We wanted in-home euthanasia for our beloved cat Yuzu. We found Peaceful Paws here on Yelp. We appreciated Dr. Chan's professionalism and demeanor. I meant to write a positive review here for Dr. Chan. 9 months later, we just needed another euthanasia for Anneka. Once again, we contacted Peaceful Paws. Highly recommend.

I am forever grateful to Dr Chan for working us in her schedule at the last minute. Our beautiful GS, Bentley, could no longer get up on his own. Dr Chan came to our house and was so kind. My sister wanted to be here and Dr Chan kindly waited for her arrival. The entire experience was so beautiful, yet so sad. We did it in our home, with my family and Dr Chan was so comforting and explained everything. I would highly recommend Dr Chan over any vet office. Thank you so much, Dr. Chan!

He also worked with me on the price when I was in a very difficult spot, and that generosity meant more than I can put into words. Ariel engraved all four of her paw prints in a heart shaped terracotta stone along with her tail which gave it that extra special unique touch. The ability to feel her feet and hands by tracing my fingers along each anatomical groove brings a smile to my face. Cutie would often times take her front paw and wrap it around my finger and now I can replicate that feeling over and over thanks to you Ariel. Ariel inked my Cutie's paws, nose and whiskers too! When I saw the prints it brought me back to when I use to touch her nose and she would look at me and I could just feel her smiling at me with her eyes. The last thing you want when your fur baby is suffering is to reach voicemail after voicemail. Hearing a compassionate human voice on the other end of the phone brought me so much comfort. She came to my home first thing the next morning. I was worried about my younger Golden Retriever jumping on her or interfering with her care, but she was absolutely wonderful with both of my dogs. She encouraged him to stay in the room with us once he was comfortable with her, and I truly believe that helped him understand what was happening. She was incredibly professional, but I'll never forget one small moment. Out of the corner of my eye, while I was saying my final words and paying my last tributes to my girl, I saw her quietly wiping tears from her eyes. As a healthcare provider myself, I know how often we're expected to wear a mask and stay composed. Seeing that genuine emotion didn't make her seem less professional, it reassured me that she truly cared. In those final moments, your mind races. You question whether you're making the right decision. Seeing her emotion gave me peace because I knew she wasn't simply going through the motions. I knew that if she believed my girl wasn't ready, she would have told me. Most of us are fortunate enough to experience this kind of heartbreak only a few times in our lives. She carries families through it over and over again. That takes an incredible amount of compassion. This is not my first review of our beloved Dr G, and I just recommended her to 6 more people again just these past 2 weeks. I always say to people I give her card to: "you will discover she is an Earth Angel - if she moved to a different town, I'd take my pup there... When you find a great vet, they are Gold! She's not only compassionate, present and knowledgeable, but also she does not oversell." Besides all the regular check ups, Dr G. has performed 2 substantial surgeries on my pup in the last 8 years, and has been extremely kind, providing valuable reassuring step-by-step updates throughout, especially aware that I had lost my beloved first dog, (with a different vet), when he did not make it through the anesthesia... In the 8 years Dr G. has been our one and only vet; everyone I have sent to Dr G. has fallen in love with her, and has thanked me for the referral. I trusted Dr G and her small compassionate team with the euthanasia of my precious second dog, Handsome. She is truly an Angel on Earth. At her Chatsworth location, I love that she's created a lovingly cozy "home environment" for the euthanasia experience. That it so needed during that deeply emotional time, and more veterinary offices ought to follow her example. I found her many years ago when I was dissatisfied with a busy veterinary front desk in Sherman Oaks, after they had made errors in my first dog's chart. Unfortunately he passed, and I learned that finding the RIGHT professional truly makes ALL the difference. So yes, I drive from Sherman Oaks. Gratefully so :) I am thankful that my cherished pups are her patients. Her ethics, her care, her kindness, her knowledge, her integrity - she's our number 1!!!

Fortunately, Paw Cremations made this difficult process more bearable. I did most of my planning with Thomas who was so considerate and gentle in his demeanor. He was supportive in my grief and transparent about not only Paw Cremations' services, but the industry as a whole. I learned a lot about animal cremation from talking to him, and was able to make what I thought was the best choice for my cat with his guidance. We scheduled the pickup from my vet's office the next day, but at the last minute I was uncertain and wanted to do one more assessment. Thomas was very accommodating and flexible, allowing me to cancel our appointment and suggested I call later whenever I was ready, since they are a 24-hour service. Ultimately, we did euthanize my cat on that vet visit, and I called to arrange a pickup of her body later that night. Since Thomas was off at that time, I met with his father, Scott, who was also very warm and comforting after such an emotional day. A few days later, I got to meet Thomas when he delivered Cupcake's ashes. There are a few reasons Paw Cremations stands out: - As mentioned, the thoughtful and understanding customer service was foremost. - Second, I love how they refer to your companion animals as your "baby." My cat was my baby, and I appreciate that they treat animals as the family members they are. - Third, I was thankful Thomas took the time to decipher the industry terms around cremation for me, as private, individual, and group cremation are very different things, and flame cremation and aquamation are also different things. The industry terms can be deceptive to lay people, so it was helpful to learn from people in the know so I could feel confident in my choice. - Fourth, they don't try to upsell you anything; they don't exploit your grief. They are straightforward about what they offer and keep it simple. If you want an urn or paw print you can get one, but if you're budget constrained as I was, you still receive your companion's ashes in a respectfully wrapped gift box. - Finally, I like that the cremation chamber itself is painted (they show you a photo). It makes the tragic process of cremation a little bit better when you see they haven't commodified it; they thought to make this last stage of your companion's journey more aesthetic. I appreciated all of these details and was very glad to have found Paw Cremations in my time of need.

I appreciated his further reassurance that it was the correct decision and at the right time when he saw the gravity of Xena's condition; I had no doubts, but it was still a balm to my heart to hear it from a professional. I was able to pet her throughout the entire procedure and up until the very last moment we assisted her onto the stretcher. I am so grateful I could spend those crucial final moments comforting her. We preferred communal cremation, so the rates were within the ballpark of other at-home services I had consulted with. However the stellar attentiveness, gentleness, and empathy that Dr. Kevin provided, in addition to his same-day availability on such short notice and all of the glowing reviews here, had my heart set on him from the beginning. Another reason we opted for him over other providers is because he is the one performing the procedure, so we knew what--and who--to expect. It felt much more intimate and personal than a service sending "someone" out. I believe this high caliber of care is how Dr. Kevin so seamlessly blends into the moment: he is another source of the palpable love resonating during such an intense, difficult experience.
