Dr. Chan was incredibly patient, gentle, and compassionate, treating my dog with such dignity and love. What truly set them apart was the entire team...every phone call and text I sent was met with kindness, calm, and genuine care. They made me feel supported and held through an experience that felt unbearable. I had reached out to several places, and I am beyond grateful that I chose Peaceful Paws. I am reluctantly leaving this review after a really heartbreaking experience on Friday…read more We had an appointment scheduled for an in home euthanasia for our sweet senior dog. We were okay paying so much in order to have his final moments be comfortable at home rather than on a cold clinic table, but we had a pretty awful experience. When witnessing this service in the past from other practitioners, a sedative was given to the dog prior to the lethal injection via IV. For our appointment however, the vet explained that a sedative comes before the lethal injection, but instead of setting up an IV for that, she abruptly stuck him in the back with a needle. He began yelping and crying out in pain and frantically running all over our home VERY distressed. It was at this time that the vet informed us it was likely burning and itching inside of him, despite not warning us about that. I went to grab him and bring him back to the couch so I could hold him and she did the same thing again, causing the same reaction. By the time I got ahold of him and brought him back to the couch again to hold him in my arms he was so sedated he was basically already gone. Completely limp and comatose. I tried my best to position him on my lap on the couch while she did the lethal injection, but at that point he was pretty much gone. So his last moments were spent in pain, burning and itching, crying and confused, and running to find somewhere to hide. It did not feel humane and did not bring us any sort of peace about the already impossible decision. We are both heartbroken because he was truly so innocent and sweet and we went out of our way to try to ensure his final moments were filled with peace and dignity like he deserved, but instead we watched him pass in a state of fear and terror. I'm still a bit in shock over how it all went down, but I wanted to share this feedback for anyone considering going the same route. Respectfully, I would look elsewhere.

Dr. Shea was my guide in my time of need. When the final day came, Dr. Erica came to our home. She is this beautiful angel, with the most kind and gentle voice. She helped us walk our precious Stella over the Rainbow bridge in the beauty of silence, reverence, and peace, it was so beautiful. Dr. Erica sent us the most amazing sympathy card a few days later that touched my heart deeply. Honor Pet has not only been there throughout this difficult journey, but their kindness, compassion, professionalism and guidance have meant more to me and my family than they can ever know. Today, Stella is back home at her final resting place, where she belongs...they sent her home to us in this incredible Honor box which carried her remains, a mini glass bottle of her fur, a candle to burn if/when I need to feel her presence, a digital print of her beautiful little "chocolate chip nose" we all loved and adored, a package of Forget-Me-Not seeds to plant in her honor, and a letter conveying their deepest sympathy for our great loss. It was all so overwhelming and thoughtful. If anyone is faced with such a difficult decision as this, and you are like me, confused and doubting whether you're making the right end-of-life choice, I cannot recommend Honor Pet enough. I promise, you will be blessed and given the truth and confidence as to when that right time comes. Stella never suffered, because Dr. Shea went over her symptoms/behavior, but when she started showing signs that she was ready, I recognized them and knew. My Stella no longer is suffering... The devastation over losing a beloved pet cannot be fully described in words, other than this: "Grief is the Price we Pay to Love." I love you my sweet girl, wait for me.

She explained that my dog's ashes should be ready in 2 weeks. At 2 weeks, we called them for an update. They said there was a delay. We called them again at 3 weeks. Still not ready. We called again around 3.5 weeks and they said a few more days. At 4 weeks we received an email saying our boy was ready and we went to go pick him up. It was quite stressful calling in over those two weeks of delay to figure out if and when my dog's ashes would be ready. A proactive message from their side would've made the experience a lot better as we needed to keep calling in to figure out what was happening while also grieving. The box we received back was lovey with a candle, hair clippings, flower seeds, and urn. I do wish the digital nose print was more accurate in terms of the size. He's a small dog and the print is just a bit blown up to the size of a larger dog.. but nonetheless it was a nice box which included several things.

The last thing you want when your fur baby is suffering is to reach voicemail after voicemail. Hearing a compassionate human voice on the other end of the phone brought me so much comfort. She came to my home first thing the next morning. I was worried about my younger Golden Retriever jumping on her or interfering with her care, but she was absolutely wonderful with both of my dogs. She encouraged him to stay in the room with us once he was comfortable with her, and I truly believe that helped him understand what was happening. She was incredibly professional, but I'll never forget one small moment. Out of the corner of my eye, while I was saying my final words and paying my last tributes to my girl, I saw her quietly wiping tears from her eyes. As a healthcare provider myself, I know how often we're expected to wear a mask and stay composed. Seeing that genuine emotion didn't make her seem less professional, it reassured me that she truly cared. In those final moments, your mind races. You question whether you're making the right decision. Seeing her emotion gave me peace because I knew she wasn't simply going through the motions. I knew that if she believed my girl wasn't ready, she would have told me. Most of us are fortunate enough to experience this kind of heartbreak only a few times in our lives. She carries families through it over and over again. That takes an incredible amount of compassion. Thank you for your kindness, your empathy, and for helping my sweet Lilo leave this world peacefully and with dignity. Please take care of yourself, too. She's not only compassionate, present and knowledgeable, but also she does not oversell." Besides all the regular check ups, Dr G. has performed 2 substantial surgeries on my pup in the last 8 years, and has been extremely kind, providing valuable reassuring step-by-step updates throughout, especially aware that I had lost my beloved first dog, (with a different vet), when he did not make it through the anesthesia... In the 8 years Dr G. has been our one and only vet; everyone I have sent to Dr G. has fallen in love with her, and has thanked me for the referral. I trusted Dr G and her small compassionate team with the euthanasia of my precious second dog, Handsome. She is truly an Angel on Earth. At her Chatsworth location, I love that she's created a lovingly cozy "home environment" for the euthanasia experience. That it so needed during that deeply emotional time, and more veterinary offices ought to follow her example. I found her many years ago when I was dissatisfied with a busy veterinary front desk in Sherman Oaks, after they had made errors in my first dog's chart. Unfortunately he passed, and I learned that finding the RIGHT professional truly makes ALL the difference. So yes, I drive from Sherman Oaks. Gratefully so :) I am thankful that my cherished pups are her patients. Her ethics, her care, her kindness, her knowledge, her integrity - she's our number 1!!!

I hope that you are reading reviews of IVS Mobile Vets for any reason other than why I sought their services. But if that time has come, when your beloved pet can no longer continue pain-free and without complications, you are told you have options. Someone told me to "drop him off at a shelter" and "start the grieving process". Others said to take him to a vet and have him euthanized at the clinic. Cost being a factor, I was mortified at the prospect of having to consider either of the above options. Abandoning a family member to die alone and wonder why? Who can do that? I came very close to having to consider that option; that is until I found IVS Mobile Vets. Encouraged by glowing reviews, I called to inquire about end-of-life care services and pricing. Dr. Moore answered my call, and even before we could get to details, she solemnly and compassionately listened to me go on and on about my little Donnie, and validated my immense grief over what was to come. Moreover, despite prices for everything everywhere being at an all-time high, Dr. Moore quoted me at-home euthanasia and private cremation for almost $200 LESS than the next lowest quote that I obtained... and I had called over a dozen vets and organizations. Donnie went to sleep on February 15, at about 1pm. In the comfort and safety of his own home, while lying in the bed that we shared for over 13 years, he drifted peacefully, and I held him until his frail little body started to cool, I don't know if it was a 1/2 hour or 1/2 a day, but Dr. Moore left us alone and gave me the time I needed for closure. Dr. Moore was gentle, patient, and truly compassionate. Despite it being the most heartbreaking day of my life, the occasion was peaceful and life-affirming, and I will mourn and cherish that memory for the rest of whatever's left of my own life. Every corner of my home is a mine field of Donnie memories, and I can't envision a day when I could come home and not long to see his little face in the upstairs window, waiting for me to open the door. But, I am forever comforted to know that I did right by my little guy, loving and caressing him to the very end. Donnie's ashes were delivered to me in person about a week later, with a heartfelt card, dignified packaging, and supplemental literature on grieving. Thank you, Dr. Moore, for your kindness, compassion and integrity. Truly an angel of mercy.

I don't think you'll regret it. Having to say goodbye to Bear, my best friend in the world and and still the purest love I've ever received, was the saddest day of my life. And figuring out the "right time" was agonizing and I remember feeling so alone. I called Hearts and Halos, and the lady I spoke to was so kind and gave me excellent advice I think all pet parents need to hear when the time comes: only you know what your animal needs and value quality of life over everything else. When that time came, Hearts and Halos scheduled me for the next day and provided their services with great patience, compassion and respect, making an already terrible day a little less terrible. That was 5 years ago. I called them yesterday for a cremation certificate and information on traveling through airports because I've decided it's now time to spread Bear's ashes. The same lady who helped me 5 years ago called me back at 9am this morning. She didn't have all the answers I needed, but that's not the point. The point is she went out of her way to bring us to this full circle moment by again helping me say a different goodbye this time, and providing guidance through another painful phase of letting go. I never got her name, but I always remembered her, that phone call about the right time, and her returning my call today 5 years later. She's exactly the person I needed in those moments.
