I went with the Death Penalty to chase a little heat, although the name is more menacing than the bit. This isn't a mouth scorching, heartburn inducing culinary dare, but quite simply a perfectly delivered burger with toppings that work well together to deliver a robust flavor with a nice touch of heat. Being my first time in Kentucky I asked for a recommendation for a nice shot of bourbon to sip while I waited for my meal, with the caveats that I'd like for it to be from a lesser known, small distiller and under $25 for the drink. He delivered with a shot of Minor Case Straight Rye Whiskey that has a sherry cask finish from Limestone Branch Distillery. It was smooth with no bite and a nice linger. Three solid hits between the burger, bourbon and bartender - would definitely recommend.

And they even had these chocolate shot glasses. So cool! All in all, the place just seems like a perfect neighborhood bar. We came during lunch time with our child and they were more than accommodating. The booths are big with plenty of seating, there are couches if you prefer and then the bar area. They DO have a kids menu but it's not actually in the physical menu, you just need to ask. The drinks were great and the burgers (think it was called the double stack) were really really good! I liked the fries as well, though the burger stole the show. The chicken tenders (that we got for our kid) were also really good with a nice moistness and breading.
