Overcharged and extremely rude! The "lead" lady named Lorna, was first rude when I was interested in purchasing two birthday balloons for my father's 79th birthday. Beside being rude, when I was being rung up by the nice cashier, Lorna came over and thought the cashier was incorrectly ringing up the balloons. Lorna went on to be rude and insulting to the cashier saying "you cannot make up your own prices" which she wasn't, she was actually scanning the price sheet provided to the at the register. She rang two different prices for two different ballon sizes which is correct. The mean lady Lorna insisted it was incorrect and tried to charge me $18.99 for a circle ballon that clearly stated "shaped or cut out ballon" on the sheet. How can a lead be so blind. Anyways, the cashier explained the price difference and still the "lead" had to much pride to even admit she was wrong. Lorna went even further and said "well u want me to charge you $18.99?" Which she clearly knows was incorrect. Who's making up their own prices now??? Long story short, she over charged me by charging the higher price for two different balloon sizes where it was clear as day that it wasn't right to do so. Please beware of Lorna who likes to make up her own prices, likes to talk down to employees and customers and who needs to smile if she wants to be in any customer service roll. She also lingered at the register to make sure we were overcharged dispite other customers asking for assistance in the photo area. She made them wait and basically ignored them because she was wrong and couldn't admit it. May be time to find her a better position in the back of the store where she will not be giving Longs a bad wrap. I'd like to make longs a part of my day, but def not when a mean, untrained Lorna is working. read more

I shop at Longs Kailua frequently and am generally quite satisfied. However, I will never self-check out. I love people, humans, so will always choose to be checked out by a gracious Longs Drugstore employee. Recently I had two very disappointing experiences. I was being charged about $8.00 for a half gallon if milk that was priced at about $3.50 per half gallon. Happened to me at three different times. The worst recent happening was being yelled at by a pharmacy employee when i wanted to use the bathroom. Evidently, some of the bathroom doors have been broken for months so NO customer access is being allowed. Some of us handicapped elderly need unanticipated quick bathroom access when shopping. This may also be true for mothers with very young children.. Not a public restroom??? OK, be thoughtful and make the restroom available for those in need. Also, please stop locking up shopping carts, making them unavailable to shoppers. Especially those near Handicapped parking spaces. I leave my walking cane in the car when shopping. Then try to grab a cart for storing my purchases while in the store. The shopping cart becomes my helper. Makes shopping doable. Helps shopping become a pleasant experience. I don't like to have to hunt for a shopping cart, nor does my body. read more

Longs Drugs the store is pretty much the same as it has always been, which is mostly fine, but I want to review the pharmacy. I have been getting my prescriptions here for decades and I have had so many problems over the years. I stay because they have a record of everything and all of my doctors have it in my charts to prescribe there, but I think it's time for a change. Just a few examples of issues I have had: * Two cancer meds that were given to me at the same time that should never be taken concurrently, because each renders the other less effective. Luckily I knew better. This was the fault of the doctor's office but the pharmacist is supposed to catch that kind of error. * The wrong med entirely given to me because they used the manufacturer's original bottles and they looked the same as the correct med. I didn't notice for a few months because I take it regularly and it happened to be the last of 6 bottles I was prescribed in that round. When I took it back to the pharmacy I was treated with suspicion like I was trying to get away with something, and I received no apology for their screw-up that could have done me harm. They can get sued for something like that. Attaching a photo of the bottles. I don't take Nortriptyline AT ALL and never have. * Recently they called unsolicited to ask if I needed any vaccines. Seriously? Telemarketing vaccines? They are really pushing them and started attaching a paper to all prescriptions listing what they have available with a big WALK-INS WELCOME. Silly me, i walked in when i needed my covid shot, stood in line, and was told they no longer take walk-ins. They are still attaching that paper to new prescriptions that says the opposite, as recently as two days ago. * My last pick-up didn't go well either. They split the prescription into two bottles when it would have fit in one, and only put the pill count on one of them with the number obliterated with a Sharpie on the 2nd bottle. I had no idea what they had done and had to count them myself, which I suggest doing anyway because they are clearly lacking competence at this pharmacy. They are also not very friendly there. Not rude usually, but like they really don't want to be there. You can do better, Longs Pharmacy. Please try harder. read more

This review is for CVS Longs Pharmacy on Kailua Road, the Longs adjacent to Whole Foods Kailua. Personally, I prefer to have any prescriptions filled at the CVS Pharmacy in Target/Kailua on Hahani Street for various reasons. Dispensing at the Longs Pharmacy occurs unfortunately when my provider mistakenly sends it there or if there is no supply available. That happened on this occasion so luckily I re-read my text message alert, showing that it was dispensed at this Longs Pharmacy, ugh. This pharmacy is so popular that there is usually a long line that sometimes does not move very quickly. As luck would have it, there was no line today. I showed my text alert but was asked my name and DOB. Somehow the clerk could not find my name, despite my spelling it twice. Again mentioned text alert, and my CVS number was scanned. Eureka, it appeared and my order was located. Was able to pay and go on to my next errand. At my next appointment, will check with my provider to ensure that my preference is noted on my health record. read more

Received a call back from Longs pharmacy customer service agent, Yuki (possibly not physically at the Kailua pharmacy store), who provided conflicting information regarding prescription refill status. While requesting clarification she stated, "It's my last day here anyway" suggesting she didn't care what information she provided. When I requested to speak with the pharmacist she stated, "It will be a long wait" and "we have other things to do." These type of responses, especially in healthcare, is very concerning. read more

The pharmacy is disappointing. Trying to refill the prescription online asks you so many questions (it is for your own security, they say) you give up before getting to the end. Or the system cannot find your prescription and you have to call anyway. But calling is also pointless, the pharmacists here do not answer phones, everything goes to voicemail. Sometimes they call you back, sometimes they don't. Asking for help at the counter is futile, you are met with "We don't control the app or the web." response. They have access to the prescription database but are not willing to resolve any issues with it. There is always a line for prescriptions, always a wait. You are better off finding a small local pharmacy than giving your money to this corporate machine. read more

Note: one star is extremely generous! I give this location a ZERO! Today, unfortunately I had no choice but to go to this location, which is an absolute nightmare! A few months ago, I had a very unpleasant experience at this place and I vowed then that I would NEVER, EVER go there again! Sadly, I had to go to this one and once again, I was not surprised to be confronted by the rudest, ill-mannered,and obstinate employees! Some background history: since the last nightmare visit to this location, I go to the Long's in Kaneohe across from Windward Mall, which, in my experience after going to several on Oahu, is the absolute best managed location! The employees there are efficient, friendly, and very courteous to everyone! They also feature a totally make sense customer service line. This means that there is one line for all customers. When a cashier is free, they announce "Next in line" IMHO, this is by far, the most efficient and customer-friendly manner to manage any kind of back up. Well this nightmare location does not operate this way. I happened to be the next customer to check out. However, of the two open lanes, I wanted to go to the very next available cashier! At that moment the vilest and rudest employee yells: "No, we don't do that here! Get a grip on your attitude woman! So, burned once, I may heal! Burned twice, and I don't care if I have to pay 3X, or travel 2X the distance, or simply go without, I will NEVER return to this deadbeat location again! I Feel sorry for the patient, long-suffering front cashiers who have to deal with explaining the coupon limitations to the irritated and confused customers who are trying to use one or more of those those long paper coupons --causing a delay and lengthening of the line at the cash register. Very large store with a variety of items, not just pharmacy and beauty, but seasonal, snacks, Hawaii gift items, beverages, greeting cards and more. Inevitably there is always something I forget to pack when heading to the beach and this Long's is conveniently located along the way to Kailua Beach. Stopped in and picked up cold beverages, snacks and on the way back, q-tips and toothpaste! Always enjoy perusing the Hawaii gift section for better prices in macadamia nuts, chocolate and coffee. But especially some of the Asian snacks! They sell in small packages so you can buy several to try. The store is clean, long line moved fast. When I couldn't find an item, a rep was happy to walk me right to the spot. Free covered parking a plus! read more

Shopping in Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii... Why does this location of Longs Drug Store (CVS) have such low ratings? I personally like Kailua Longs because of the free covered parking, the friendly staff, and the great variety of merchandise! During my last visit, the employees had to chase two vagrants out of the store. The situation was handled professionally and all customers were safe. Of course, the couple of potential thieves were swearing and upset, but hey - if you're doing something wrong, it's a natural consequence to get ejected! LOL! Anyway, i was there to get a baby gift for my friends in California. I wanted to send them something local, so I got a funny Local Kine greeting card, some Hawaiian snacks, and a keiki book - perfect! I was so happy with the selection of goods! Upon checkout, the cashier commented on my half off Easter candy. Those malted milk eggs are very rare - I got the last one on the shelf! Hee hee! So tired of the back up at the pharmacy. They change (shorten) the hours. Open later, close earlier. Then they don't post they close for lunch. I get it - but at least you can let the public know when! Got here at 8:10 Saturday morning, they open at 9. Returned at 9:05 and there were already 7 people in line. Left cause i work in town at 10. First off, this store ALWAYS has a line. Second "Cindy" the cashier ALWAYS has an attitude Third they allow any kind dogs/pets in the store...IN THE CART!!!!!! As a local girl who comes home ALL the time, I am appalled at the attitude that Cindy not only gave me, but other people who used her as her cashier. Where's your aloha spirit? If you hate your job, stay home! I've been in the store for the past 2 days and EVERY time she had some smart comment to me and others. Today was the best...I asked her to count the candies as I was purchasing a box, and she said "ya they there"...so I trusted her, went to the car, and counted again..I counted one short than what I was charged for...I walked back in and asked her if she could count them again, as the first time she just counted the top row. She said "no need", "I told you they are all there"...I said well to just make me feel better lets count them...she said, "I told you already, no need".....I said well, thanks for checking, have a great day and I hope your day gets better b/c your attitude stinks. All while this was going on, there was a lady in line with HER DOG IN THE CART! Service Animals are NOT allowed to be in carts! That is unsanitary and against the LAW! Yes I made sure to tell that lady that too...I don't care that we are on an island, island dogs are no different than mainland Service Animals and ARE NOT ALLOWED in a cart! Shame on Longs for continuing to allow any kind of dogs/animals in their store. I won't feel bad when they poop or pee in the store or possibly attack someone and get sued! As a senior, I have all my meds at this location. I find the behind the counter staff rude to seniors. Just yesterday, an elderly man was told to " call your doctor " after his meds were not ready, the lady was very short with him , he was very puzzled that he was being treated so rudely. He and I made eye contact and he just raised his arms as if to say I give up . read more

This review is only for my experience at the pharmacy. Came to fill my RX after coming from the Dentist in need of some antibiotics and pain relief. I left my house an hour earlier as I was expecting a long turnaround time to get my RX filled as this was my typical pharmacy experience at Kahala CVS. I live in Kaimuki but work in Kailua and this pharmacy is conveniently located next to my place of employment. This team was amazing! I believe their manager is who helped me and made my experience so fun and pleasant! Even his team had smiles on their faces. You've got a great leader back there in your pharmacy and I hope you recognize that CVS. read more

Haven't been to this Longs in years and they really made it roomy. You don't have to bump into people's carts. Lots of sale items that's easy to find, shelves are stocked and the place is clean. There's a peaking structure that has lots of space unless you come by during open market. read more

Every since CVS took over Longs has not been the same. My main complaint is they run out of stuff or never restock the shelves. Pharmacy is always out of stuff. You always find shelves empty-and the cashier always asks -"did you find everything you need?" Trying to fill a prescription and my regular Longs didn't have in stock. Called other Longs in town to try and fill. Told to call here, so I did. Told them the medication, that another Longs told me they had plenty in stock. Aidan stated in a short tone that Paul said they had none in stock. Understanding the nature of the medication, I retold them that I am a Longs customer and that my regular Longs didn't have supply and that another Longs also told me to contact this store, which checked this stores inventory and showed they had plenty in stock, so asked to please reverify with Paul. Aidan put me on hold and after 30mins the call dropped. Of the 5 Longs I reached out to, this was the only one where I was treated so poorly and rudely. They showed no interest in understanding or helping me in any matter. read more

This Long's is located right across Whole Foods and one of the best Long's I have ever been! The store is very spacious and easy to look around. My husband was so happy they had butterfingers in stock...which has been sold out for weeks at Walmart and Target for some reason. The cashier named Summer is very sweet and helpful! Older worker was a bit rude, she didn't have to say "please keep 6 feet from the customer" in such a rude tone. Plus she was talking story with the customer ahead of me. If they weren't talking for that long the customer would've been out the door already and me at the counter. I made an appointment on line to get a Covid booster shot. I showed up on time, I checked in, they took my insurance info and asked me to wait, there were a few people ahead of me. after25 minutes I sit down to get the shot and was informed that they didn't get thier shipment of the vaccinations. the lady apologized and told me I would need to reschedule. I asked why did the system schedule me if there wasn't any vaccinations available? she answer "yes the system has a problem." Why didn't the guy who checked me in tell me there wasn't any shots? "He should have explained it to you." The poor woman looked and acted frustrated and depressed. I assume this had been happening for a while. Why didn't they put up a sign? If I could give 0 stars for there pharmacy...I would. CVS in general is not the place to go for meds ..but the customer service in this pharmacy is horrible. They for one...do not have it together at all. For two this extremely large, negative, sloppy rude lady "working" at the drop off center. And proceeded to tell me she was doing ME a favor...I reminded her...honey no, your doing your job. She appeared and spoke as though she should be a truck driver...not a pharmacy tech. I do not recommend this place to anyone. I ended up driving 30 mins further out for a decent pharmacy. Some "woman" are just a disgrace to us normal working people!!! I've been to this Longs a lot! This time when I walked in, the store layout had changed.....I guess if I shop there more often, I'll get used to it, but I'm not sure I understand the theory of what they've done. It seems that they are trying to be a beach store...they have slippers in 2 places and the food items are spread all over... Lots of new people...the merchandise I used to love to buy at Longs is now being replaced by CVS private label...feels like they are cramming their CVS merchandise down our throats. I'm sad that Longs has changed sooo much. It used to be my favorite store to shop at, but now that CVS has taken over, the changes are not for the better... For your best bargain on hootch in the Kailua/Waimanalo area, come to Long's. There's quite a few mom and pop liquor stores in the vicinity, but those have significantly higher prices. Inventory is limited (both at Long's and the mom and pops), so you may have to improvise in making a martini. In our case, we had to substitute Triple Sec for Cointreau and Cinzano Rosso vermouth for Martini & Rossi. Still, the martinis have turned out surprisingly well! read more

Good 'ol Long's Drugs. What's odd here is twofold. One, it's not facing the street. Meaning you kind of go though *backroads* parking lots to get here. Second, this one has a three level parking garage, but I'm pretty sure it's not *needed* in Kailua. They must have been expecting a lot more shoppers than what I've seen. Anyway, it's nice since this side of the island tends to shower a bit more. You don't have to hurry and chuck all the stuff you bought in the car when it's pouring. It's a marriage of convenience, but they do have good weekly specials every now and again. It's pretty much a one stop shop for local and visitor alike. What's nice is that it's close to the retail shopping district in Kailua while also being close to all of the other grocery type stores in the area. It's less crowded than the ones in town and as a result has a more laid back feel. read more

Not Covid-safe due to an irresponsible young manager Martha C., whose mask kept slipping off her nose & she refused to fix or replace it. She was working a cash register with the busy Sunday crowd this morning. She refused to fix her mask by tying knots in the ear elastics, because that would be "uncomfortable." Unbelievable! Another manager spoke to her & she still refused to fix her mask, which she had already told me "kept slipping" and was "too big." She was both breaking the law & showing disregard for our community's safety. I finally called Covid Enforcement, but because I hadn't photographed her with her mask below her nose, she could not be cited. I hadn't expected her to refuse to fix her mask -- and then lie to the police about it. With 40% of infected people asymptomatic & our Island in danger of overwhelming the hospital resources, her behavior was shocking to me, a kupuna who grew up here since small kid time. She was also racist towards me, a haole, saying to me with a sneer that I must be from California. I was living in Kailua decades before she was born! read more
