We were sold on this company right away because of him. He measured and wrote up a quote. Sliding Mirrored Closet Door installed. 1st After work was completed there were Dull spots where nail holes were covered up. 1 door was about $1,500 for that price I was NOT happy with the install ! They have only 1 installer in the entire company so I had to wait for the Removal and Reinstall! Work was completed and nail holes are now ok BUT noticed Today the Door is not on straight as the top of the door is leaning inward and the bottom is leaning outward ! OH WELL - Not worth the issues working with this company! I just will not use for anything else! I do NOT RECOMMEND this business! I must give a huge shout out and thank you to Elizabeth Shutters! I had this little bitty tub shower window that every shutter installation company said on average their minimum was $600 and up which is not worth it for a little bitty 15 1/2 x 33" x 3" deep tub shower window. Elizabeth Shutters did a synthetic shutter for a door back in 2021 and they did a great job and I just didn't think about the Tubshower window at the time which because of the door installation. The minimum job order would not have been a problem however here it is 2024 and I called them and they said oh that's a small job, and I said give me an idea on what to do because I was just blank for some reason on what to do which is unusual for me because I am a little creative ninja! Well, the wonderful Phone representative just blurted out hey go to Lowe's or Home Depot and get the opaque adhesive that you can put on windows for privacy. BRILLIANT!!! why didn't I think of that before? Why didn't any of the other shutter installation installers mentioned that before? We (my wife and I) live in the Bay Area (Northern California) and cannot urge you more to AVOID USING THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. We worked with the Sales Rep (Deb) and were happy with the impression we received; we contracted for (3) sets of shutters for the front of our home. The first attempt at installation was a disaster; the shutters arrived marred by cracks, dents, and holes; the installer attempted to repair with puddy and color he brought along (not repair damage he caused, but construction defects [pathetic!]), but the issues were too extensive, and we had to send them back to the workshop (the installer mentioned he wouldn't accept them either). When I spoke with Deb this time, she was extremely nonchalant and almost uninterested. I followed up with a terse reply and she "reassured" me the problems would be addressed. Elizabeth Shutters offered a nominal discount for our troubles (this was never about money). When the shutters were redelivered and installed issues quickly became apparent. There were STILL several cracks, STILL additional drill holes, and the louvers were warped and did not seal evenly. One set looked "OK" and we were going to send two back and keep the third while they "re-repaired" the problematic shutters. Here is where it gets really absurd. My wife wanted to see the shutters, we were planning on keeping, from an outside perspective and asked me to open them. I started to do so, pushing from the center louver, lo and behold the bottom louver did not turn with the others, it split in half like cardboard, a nail tearing through it and left exposed. We noticed the quality seemed very poor, but it turns out the "basswood" they use is absolute junk. We told the installer to take all of the shutters with him and to refund our deposit. Elizabeth Shutters contacted us and offered to reinstall the shutters for no additional Cash on Delivery (COD), and that they would put into place quality controls (already heard about the quality controls the first time and there was no QA/QD). We said no, give us a refund and repair our home. Did I mention they did damage to the real wood of our home and to our walls? They said they would refund the money, but we contracted that they have the opportunity to remedy any issues, and we weren't letting them so they would not pay for the damage to our home. That is an egregious lie. We gave them an opportunity to remedy the problem, and they showed what kind of company they are. Now I am going to have to file suit against them. Do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else. Companies like this do not deserve to stay in business. Let's put them out of it, together, and demand a higher standard of contact. read more

Service requested : New indoor bedroom door to basic specifications Value : $850 This company's selling point is that their manufacturing is not 3rd party, and is instead in-house for better quality. I had a measurement technician onsite TWICE (once for standard measurements and once because they told me they measured the hinge incorrectly the first time - this should've been my first indication that things at this company were not as buttoned up as I was led to believe by the salesperson). I had to call to check on the door several times throughout the production process, as I was not receiving any calls nor emails verifying install dates, receipts, etc. I was told my door was ready to the correct specifications and would be installed in early October. The install engineer upon entry into my home immediately informed me that he noticed an issue with the hinge measurements when he picked up the door earlier in the day. However, just in case anything else was wrong, he wanted to try installing it. Lo and behold, not only were the hinges incorrect (the reason they had to measure twice), but the door itself also didn't fit. The engineer reinstalled my original door and let me know I'd receive a call in 24 hours about the status and rescheduling. I immediately called the office to ensure they heard how confused I was at the situation. I was sent to the Installation Manager, and he assured me he would be calling me directly once he had more information on why the measurements were incorrect. I called two days later and no one answered. I called six days later to be told that I couldn't be rescheduled as the scheduler had gone home. I informed the team that I didn't care how long it was until my door was scheduled - I wanted to know how these mistakes occurred. I was sent to the Vice President of Marketing (instead of a Customer Service person) and told that within their contract T&Cs they do not allow for even partial refunds or future discounts. Regardless of how they make mistakes, and she even told me that she couldn't promise they would get it right on the measurements the third time. So for anyone looking for doors, this company actually promises from the outset that if they make errors, you are still paying the exact amount upfront. No matter how many times they send technicians to your home, how long it takes, if the timeline is longer than promised, how many errors they produced in their own doors - doesn't matter. This place has absolutely no understanding of customer service. 0/10 would recommend this business to homeowners. read more

Yesterday (11/09/2022) Elizabeth Shutters installed 2 huge Sliding Doors with Louvers in my Kitchen Pantry. They look amazing and Oscar did a perfect installation. It is probably the best installation of anything I've seen. Oscar cleaned-up everything when he was done and did a lot of finishing touches to make sure it was perfect. Found Elizabeth Shutters after a Google search and chose to give them a call because they are a local small business. We had no recommendations from friends or neighbors and thought there would be no harm in giving them a call. We had sliding doors to enclose a "flex space" installed in July and then just had shutters installed in a passthru to enclose a different room in our home. We are VERY happy with the quality of the doors and shutters as well as the professionalism of installers Gambino and Delfino. The sales rep, Ron, got it right and ordered EXACTLY what we were asking for and the measurements taken were perfect. They also only asked for a 50% deposit when placing my order which is absolutely reasonable - not a 100% deposit like I read in another review. The only reason for the 4 stars is that their office practices are a bit outdated. They don't communicate online - which is what I prefer, and because their office person wrote my phone number down wrong, I received a letter via USPS asking me to call and schedule an install. WHAT!!?!?! Time to get with the 21st century. If I have another project in my home, I will not hesitate to call them out again. read more

At first, we were very happy with our new shutters, even though they were not completely flush. The installers, who were very courteous, said to give it time to "relax", and if they still needed attention, to call them back to schedule an adjustment. We gave ample time for things to settle in, but that never happened. Before we could call them back, the pandemic hit so even more time elapsed. When I called for an appointment to have someone come out to make the adjustment to the shutters, as well as replace a small piece that broke on our custom closet doors, I was told this was not covered under the lifetime warranty and we would have to pay an additional $125 to have someone come out to do the "simple" job. Now it's become a matter of principle. We spent over $5,600 with this company, feeling it was worth it to have the warranty - so far, it's been useless for even a simple thing, which makes us worry about issues that might occur down the road. Management would not budge on their decision, and would not call us back directly, even though we asked more than once for their assistance. The girls in the office were always nice but did not have the authority to schedule the job. We rarely give negative reviews, but It's quite clear that customer satisfaction is not very important to the management of this company. read more

We met with Sandy in early 2012 and ultimately had Elizabeth Shutters install shutters over: - (2) two 34" W x 75" H windows - (1) one 71" W x 60" H window - (1) one 69" W x 34" H sunburst She took the time to explain everything to us and we were more than happy to use them for our project. They even provided us touch-up coating for the future, but the finish is so durable that we've not had to use the touch-up at all. They finished the work in about half a day and left the house looking good, exactly what you would expect from a contractor. We would recommend them to others. read more

We paid for removal of our old blinds and shutters and the installer simply left the old blinds and shutters are the floor for us to throwaway. We bought Plantation Shutters from this company because of their lifetime warranty. After several years they have started to crack and the cheap particle board that is used to manufacture the shutters is cracking and pieces are falling out. I contacted them a year ago about some of our shutters that have the paint peeling off of them and they wouldn't even come out and look at them because they told me over the phone that were delaminating from water from our bathroom, these shutters are on the window above our bath tub. We don't even use the bathtub. I plan on calling them again next week and if they don't show up and fix our shutters I will leave this review up. When the time came to install, Juan also showed up exactly on time. He had to take down large wooden valances and Roman shades before he could even begin the installation.
