I have the upmost respect for elk appliance repair. They saw what I needed to repair, and they informed me that it would cost more to fix the item than what it was worth, and that the problem would likely keep happening, because that was a model that everyone has had problems with. He could have charged me to fix it and then turned around and had to fix it again and again like our last appliance repair person, but he was respectable and did not. My experience with Elk Appliance was absolutely horrible. They charged me $900+ to replace the compressor in the refrigerator, however this did not fix the problem. It still would not cool properly. After a couple of additional trips, Tyler said he would refund the cost of the initial repair, then he totally ghosted me. He stop responding, even though I was willing to pay for additional repairs. Had a tech out to fix dryer and charged me $230 to replace 2 different thermostats. The dryer went back out 3 days later and they sent back same tech who could not figure out the issue. I had done a lot of research and already knew what the problem was, I also knew what the average cost of repair was for this problem. Had a bad valve in my Samsung fridge and I really didn't know what was causing the slow water dispenser problem, but the tech figures it out in short order. Our gas cooktop had a issue and requires all 5 igniter controllers to be replaced. Elk was the first to return my call and show up as per the scheduled window. He had to had to make 3 trip to replace the part ( it was due to me trying to be optimistic to only allow Tyler to order 2 instead of 5 the first time) and he only charged the standard $129 for replacement.
