Yes I am a man but I as a professional businessman I have to look my best and I understand that it's the details that matter the most. I have found everyone at Elle Nails to be very polite and professional and extremely accommodating. I consider myself to be a stickler for cleanliness and I have always found the facilities to be top notch. By comparison I have found the service to be the same if not better than many of the salons and spas I have tried in the Beverly Hills area and I have been to many over the years. I typically get a manicure and pedicure and occasionally some waxing for my eyebrows. when I leave I always look and feel great and yes Sandy truly is amazing and attentive to detail. Not long ago I decided to bring my girlfriend along with me for a Mani Pedi and after the fist visit she was hooked and now she and her sister make the trip to the valley on a regular basis. As for the review by Kathy H you are very hard to take seriously I pay very close attention to details especially when it comes to sanitation and grooming if what you claiming was truly the case then yes you should have said more to support your argument hence the whole point of the review process. The bottom line is if you are looking for a excellent salon with a clean and comfortable atmosphere that combines quality service and excellent pricing then I highly recommend Sandy and the staff at Elle Nails. 'Sandy' painted my nails, she been there a while and stood there in front of me holding my hand up (NOT on a table) ...the way she did my nails- it was like watching a 5 year-old do it!!!!!! After she would go and try to push all the polish off with her own nails! They were done in gel polish by the way and the black-light kept turning off- I would have to take my hands out and put it back on myself. *GEL Polish chipped off in 4 DAYS!!!* (so cheap!) Their distancing cautious procedures are impressive. You must make an appointment, they take the proper COVID screening precautions, everything you touch, someone is making sure to sanitize immediately. Everyone is wearing appropriate PPE, stations are separated and confined w clear protection all around. I don't like leaving negative reviews HOWEVER, I feel as though it's my patriotic duty to warn potential customers. This was my first time here (pedicure only), and I only came by because the nail salon I prefer was closed for the Holiday, and this one was relatively close by and I was short on time. I deducted 1 Star for each negative experience I had: 1) My nails were cut down to the stubs. She asked if I wanted them cut, and I said yes. USUALLY they just trim them down to a cute and reasonable length, but she cut them down as low as humanly possible. Who does that?! 2) She man-handled the heck out of my poor toes when she was cleaning my cuticles. After the first time she drew blood, I thought she'd realize that she was a little rough and rushed, and be more gentle. NOPE! I (at almost 8 months pregnant) was sooo tense in the salon chair and had blood on 3 different toes by the time she finished her assault. 3) The leg and foot massage has always been my favorite part of a pedicure UNTIL NOW! Good lord almighty! She put all her strength in to her bony little fingers, and proceeded to apply as much pressure as she could garner on my legs and feet. It hurt sooooo badly! And just when I thought she was done and could relax a little, she then balled her fist up and proceeded to punch the bottom of my foot! Three negative experiences during one visit equals 2 stars. Don't go here. I spent good money for them to mess up my nails and still got charged full price. They didn't have the color I requested and instead of saying something and letting me pick the color I wanted to match my toes they went ahead and did what they wanted. They're all really really nice but the last time I went they not only cut me (she was rushing and wasn't paying attention to what she was doing) but my nails looked really wacky. I asked for acrylic coffin but they looked almost almond. One of the ladies even made a mistake cutting my nail and it looked really narrow compared to the others. When I came back a couple weeks later and asked to get them off, the lady filed my nail beds very thin and I was very sensitive for weeks. Do not recommend getting your acrylics taken off here! Overall they have okay customer service. The place was clean too. However, the only issue I had and which is a big one was the fact that the manicure process was painful. She had cut me numerous amount of times and the alcohol made the pain worse. She didn't even bother cleaning up the tips/bottom side of my nail. My fingers had glue all over them. The acrylics themselves are okay but there are a few bumps and debris in the polish. My friend also had a similar experience with his manicure in which the person was going fast and cut him too. This place is so welcoming! It was my second time here and they sat me down right away for a spa pedi. I was a bit anxious coming to a new place but i loved it. The lady who did my pedicure was so sweet and even tried having nice conversation with me. The spa chairs are so nice and even cleaned right after. Even when the water was too hot for my younger sister they had no problem turning it down. They all work so fast but very well too. My mom, sister, and I got finished right away. Although I will warn you some ladies are slightly rough on you, they get the job done. Although the woman who did mine was very careful and kind. It did NOT look rushed at all and they offered to put flowers as well. I got it plain and it was only $17! It was a great experience and everyone was really nice. Underneath I discovered that she had filed my nails so far at an angle that the meat under the nails was exposed on several fingers. Ouch! When I went back to ask her to fix it. The owner said it was me doing it and said I had to pay again, 3 days later!! I have gone there several times, the owner is grumpy always rushing. This nail salon is the worst place to go... sandy the owner is very rude and Helen doesn't know how to put on nail polish it was all over my skin so i told her to take it off. She started taking it off with toilet paper instead of a Cotten ball. When i told sandy she doesnt know how to put on nail polish she told me "how can you be so rude they have been doing this for 10 years!" I told her a 7 year old can do a better job painting nails. I gave this two stars because honestly I love Lily for pedicures and I had requested her originally. I unfortunately was rushed by Sandy to sit down and be given a pedicure. They looked fine but it hurt a little and she made me bleed by piercing me a few times. I came home a little sore and thought that it was just because of the bleeding. A few days later it was extremely infected and I had a giant clump of dead skin pushed down into my toe. It got so bad that it was swollen and pus was oozing out. I came to this place cause it was one of the only open nail salons open at 8 p.m., one of the pros of this place because most salons close down at 7 p.m. Firstly, the location of this place is a bit inconvenient, if there isn't meter parking out front you have to park in back of the place and walk around, I didn't see a backdoor entrance. Walking around back through a small alley at night in a not so great area made me a little uneasy. Anyways, I came in for a pedicure and I was the only person there so I was helped right away. For some reason they didn't have me in a spa chair even though I was the only one there so they had my feet in a container with a bag. Um okay. The lady who did my pedi was real nice and sweet, but the woman who I believe was running the place was being kind of rude. She kept telling me that I need to get my eyebrows waxed because they are too thick and it looks bad and that she could do them for me. Ummm okay, because bashing the way my eyebrows look would definitely make me want to let you take care of them. Swerve. After talking shit about my eyebrows for 5 minutes, the other woman finally got started on my toes, and yeah they didn't turn out very nice, very sloppily done. But I couldn't complain cause the price was only $12. I'm only giving this place 2 stars for the price, and the fact that it is open later than most places. Helen and Lily were great. Helen did my manicure and Lily my pedicure. They were both so detailed oriented and kept asking me along the way if I liked them. I guess they noticed I was a bit worried. Price for manicure and pedicure was $21. I went there at 7pm today and gave them each a $4 tip because they were so great. I have gotten mani pedis twice in my life, and none recently, so maybe I'm not an expert, but I'm pretty sure they're doing it wrong. I don't think it should be anywhere near as uncomfortable or unpleasant the experience. I actually called ahead and made an appointment for eight, and I arrived right on the dot. They instructed me to sit and wait while they ate their dinner and watched TV for fifteen minutes. I'm all for some breaks at work, believe me, but it's not like there was anyone else in the whole place. When they did get to me, it hurt, I bled a bit, it was very uncomfortable in the position they had me sitting in anyway. There was no relaxing music, or relaxing anything. I always judge where I get my hair done on the quality of the salons hair, and I wish I had judged the nail place on the quality of their nails, which, when I noticed them working on my feet and hands, was terrifying. I couldn't wait to get out of there. I got French tips, nothing fancy, but they did not look good. I kept hoping it would grow on me and that maybe I just had a bad experience so I wasn't seeing clearly, but by the next day I had to admit I paid $28 for a mani pedi that I could have done a better job with. I had to go here ONE time because my original nail place I love (Dazzle Nail Spa) was overbooked and I had an emergency and needed a fill on my acrylics that same day. I have been to dozens of salons, and by far this one is the WORST one EVER! It was beyond painful, I had my fingers cut, a few days later, the nails started popping off one by one, a total of 4 popped off and this NEVER happens to me with the other nail salon. I also was getting a pedicure, and that really hurt too, and they were doing it at the same time as the hand nails, and had me sitting in a very awkward and uncomfortable position the whole time. Customer service is amazing. Sandy and the gentleman took me in even though it was closing time on a Sunday. My only complaint is that they took so much of my nail and cuticle. You would think it was worth it's weight in gold they trimmed so much cuticle. I also had acrylics before coming in so my nails had a little length. Now they are shorter than my fingertips. Then the manager was in such a rush to finish me she didn't take her time at all and I had to tell her to slow down.
