See someone else there. I do NOT see ELLEN FRANKEL because I've heard horror stories but I do see Dr Michael Bahrier there and there's also a nurse practicioner now. I love Dr Bharier...he's a knowledeable, friendly man. He will explain everything to you and he doesn't rush. I really like him but would never see Ellen Frankel. I've not had a problem with the office staff except I called to confirm my next day appt and they said he was out of the country and had called me and left me a message which they did not. They rescheduled me immediately and they've always been pretty pleasant. There were 2 times 2 hours I waited and a line formed to reschedule. That's a bit much. I'm not waiting to see anyone for 2 hours.

Been going here for 5 years now + I've had a pretty good experience. I've never met with THE ELLEN FRANKLE before but I have seen her in the office so she does exist. Everyone here is super nice except for some of the receptionists. They are a lil cranky + not warm + fuzzy-- some not all! One great thing is that they can usually fit in a last minute appointment if you are having an emergency however they are always running late--- at least 30-40 minutes late. I did go here last year for poison ivy + I went back 3x... everything they gave me didn't work + it was an awful painful month before it went away ...but i'm not quite sure that was their fault. I'm highly allergic! If you have a crazy rash or need a lil face pick me up, this is your kinda place!

This sign is childish, unprofessional, and gross!

This place is trash. I averaged 40 minutes waiting time beyond my scheduled appointment for each visit. When I asked Stephanie to check my skin for any weird spots due to sun exposure she looked me over for about 20 seconds with a little light. I felt rushed out of the office. At the end of my first visit we made a plan to remove a skin tag and do a biopsy on a mole. Wanted to do the skin tag first, doctor says no problem mention it on the day of your appointment and it will be fine. I didn't trust her knowledge of how billing/insurance works so I called a week before I was scheduled to be back and the billing staff said they would submit paperwork for the skintag removal. Day of the appointment I call my insurance company and I'm told the office hasn't submitted the pre-authorization paperwork . I pressed on the office staff to fix this problem. The buck was passed as far as who's fault it was, but I did end up having both procedures done. Doctor told the nurse to have them both processed as a biopsy..... Not sure how much she was bending those rules when it comes to billing, but I can say that Neighborhood Health of RI is dropping them from their covered networks.... I was prescribed a $500 ointment to apply to both sites. Boy did I have a laugh with the pharmacist! Pharmacist called them and got them to prescribe something more reasonable. When I came back to get my biopsy results no one even bothered to glance at the sites to see if they were healing well. The majority of the patients that waited in the receptionist area with me were 65+. I think this place is exploiting the fact that many of their clients don't have jobs and are cramming WAY to many people into a single day. I was going to file a formal complaint but they are already being dropped by my insurance. please consider going elsewhere, don't support this garbage place!

This is at the check-in window and absolutely represents staff attitude toward their patients.

I had waited a year to see that other doctor. As the condition persisted, I took a chance with Brown Dermatology and met with one of their nurse practitioners. My first appointment, which was several months out, was cancelled due to the provider being ill. It was rescheduled for later in the week. For that appointment I had been out for other appointments and was fifteen minutes away for an appointment in ten minutes. When I called them to say I would be late by five minutes they told me if I wasn't there in ten minutes I would be marked as a missed appointment and not seen. Odd, but OK, if that's policy, I just made another appointment. Well, that one was also cancelled because the provider was sick. OMG. A new appointment was booked for later that week and finally, on my fourth try, everything went smoothly. Life happens. Luckily I'm flexible. I was very worried about my appointment because of the previous doctor I had seen. At this point it's been over two years that I have been observing a scaly patch on my nose as well as some other 'new' to me points. The nurse practitioner was very patient listening to my observations and asked questions. She diagnosed two different things going on. The scaly patch is a pre-cancerous condition that she was able to freeze off at that visit so it's no longer a concern. Yay. For the other thing she prescribed a skin cream and gave me samples of face wash and sun screen. After just three days of treatment my skin is already looking more like my normal skin and I really like these samples she gave me. There is a sign at reception saying they are using new software so there may be some delays. They also use an online patient portal (as most doctors do these days) where you can send message and get test results. Their office is on the top floor of the building. The parking lot is large with several handicapped spots by the door. Doors are either automatic or have the wheelchair open mechanism. An elevator is across from the entrance.

I want to update my review of my experience with Brown Dermatology now that I have answers…read more I was seen (and gaslit) at the Warwick, Providence and South Kingstown location while trying to address a butterfly rash that developed any time I go outside and my right arm turning blue. My butterfly rash was brushed off by multiple specialists as a sun allergy despite having a known autoimmune condition and histamine intolerance. They gave me allergy meds and sent me on my way. As for my blue arm, they initially did a biopsy in Warwick that showed that it couldn't possibly be tattoo ink cause it went deeper than a tattoo would go. Despite this and even being sent to rounds at the Providence location over the course of countless visits, they told me to "cover it up with a tattoo" if it bothers me. That's when they brought up how much it'll cost. When I stood up for myself, they sent me on my way. Instead of referring me to a different specialist for investigation or admitting they don't know what's wrong, they brushed me off. I'm so glad I didn't listen to them and continued to advocate for myself! About a month ago, a different doctor who listened to me discovered that my arm is blue due to a condition called Thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS)!!! It took this new doctor one visit and one test vs 2 years! Unfortunately, thanks to Brown Dermatology, my ability to get treatment and answers was drastically delayed... The kicker is that I asked the doctors at Brown Dermatology and they insisted that it's tattoo ink despite their own labs showing otherwise... TOS is something that needs treatment due to the risk of clots and can't just be "covered up with a tattoo" like the doctors at Brown Dermatology suggested... After this experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend Brown Dermatology.

Ewwwwgh. It is in nearly every shampoo, many toothpastes, and random other things. You have to read every label or look it up on the EWG website to determine if a product contains it. He had me try three different Rx ointments until one finally worked and my face is rash free. Dr. Feder is SO good, that he is 100 % booked and is not taking new patients AT THIS TIME. He takes so much time with his patients, answers all questions in English as opposed to Medicalese. He is also so calm and sweet, he puts his patients at ease immediately. With full disclosure, I must add that Dr. Feder is married to my cousin. I am in no way biased for that reason. I even visited three other dermatologists upon moving back to RI 8 years ago, because I didn't want to have my cousin's husband examining me :-). However, exasperated with a recurring rash (for which one lovely dermatologist suggested I try covering with a makeup primer!!). I bit the bullet and played the cousin card, because I knew he was THAT good. His nurses examine me in places I am too embarrassed to show a doctor who is married to my cousin! He really is the BEST and has been frequently been listed in RI Monthly's "BEST OF" for doctors in RI. I hope he will eventually be taking new patients. Ya never know!

Dr. Feder is extremely kind, thorough and easy to speak with. It appears that most dermatologists…read morethese days are only interested in giving Botox or other procedures to pad their bank account. Not so with Dr. Feder. He is one of the last of a dying breed of dermatologists. If you are able to get an appointment with him, consider yourself lucky!
