Ignitor switch was replaced in 30 minutes. Fine. Aprilaire 500 humidifier took 4 visits and they left with it working in manual mode instead of automatic mode! 1) First Visit - Technician insisted there is no such thing as an automatic humidifier even though the box says automatic. He insisted he could not get the outdoor sensor outside without breaking down walls. He finally INCORRECTLY ran it through the exhaust pipe and attached it to the exhaust pipe. He connected the wrong voltage line to the control panel and broke it. He lied and said he connected the humidifier to the hot water line when I asked him. He left the attic a mess with the humidifier not working. I emailed Aprilaire because the manual said you could run the outdoor sensor through the fresh air pipe that was right next to the exhaust pipe and the sensor should be mounted at least 3' away from the exhaust pipe. Aprilaire said the contractor had to come back and fix that. 2) Second Visit - Ari, their best wiring guy, came to fix the problem. He rewired the control panel to its proper place and did all the wiring. I asked him to double check that the humidifier was connected to the hot water line. I saw him check and he said it was. IT WAS NOT! Ari said I had to get a new control panel because it didn't work and maybe it's because the first guy connected it to the wrong voltage. I insisted that Ari redo the sensor connection per the manufacturer's manual and email they sent me. He refused to mount it outside but mounted it inside the fresh air intake, I was told. I emailed the manufacturer and they replied that the licensed contractor was responsible for getting a replacement unit. I sent that email to Deena. I called and she said Ari said I had to get it. I told her to please read the email I sent. 3) Third Visit - Nick brings the new control panel. He follows the wiring but can't make it work. I email Eller Services complaining about how the technicians are not following the manufacturers instructions and just installing it the way they know how which isn't correct. I don't hear back, so I call and speak to the operations manager, Jennifer. She was rude and didn't want to hear anything I had to say. She said they already lost money on the job. I said, if they didn't have to come 4 times to my house, they wouldn't have lost money. I said they need to install it per the manufacturer's manual, and she said they would install it based on their knowledge. I said no. She refused to request the next technician to install it properly. 4) Fourth Visit - Ari comes back and says he'll fix it real quick. An hour later... he's got it to work in MANUAL MODE but it's an AUTOMATIC humidifier!!! My husband and I both read the instructions. Buy the correct parts. Connect the humidifier to the hot water line that is right next to the cold line. We mount and connect the outside sensor the control panel and reset the control panel. Tah-dah! It work on AUTOMATIC MODE! I included pictures of the control panel after they left and after we fixed the installation. I also included our house humidifier sensors a week after they left and the day after we fixed the installation so you can see how much better it worked with the same outdoor temperature range on the two days. It went from 11% humidity in our bedroom, 20% in our living room and 29% in the basement to 24%, 24% and 27%. read more

When the motor on my furnace died on a brutally cold day this winter, I knew exactly who to call. Even though it was late in the evening, the kind lady dispatcher contacted the next available service technician. She kept in contact phone contact with me until he arrived. Since I bought the furnace from Eller a couple years ago, I apparently had a service warranty (super bonus) and the service call was free. However they were out of the part, and had to order a different brand. The new part cost $200. The service tech was very honest and said we could wait for the warrantied part to be replaced or pay the $200. I went with the new part, and had a warm house within the hour. Eller has replaced my furnace and water heater. I will not go anywhere else for my heating needs and highly recommend this company. read more

We called there 24 hour hotline on Saturday night since we had no heat. We let them know what's wrong with it in a voice mail called twice no return call. Called again on Sunday morning and they sent a guy out he had no parts on his truck and told us the reason we don't carry parts is because the employees were steeling so now we wait till Monday to get it fixed. It was cool for 2 days and they still charged us 149.00 for emergency coming out. I had my grandsons baptism to go to so I had to leave and my husband had to miss it because of this. I called and asked why we had to pay for the emergency visit since it didn't get fixed and we still froze. They said we signed so we are stuck with paying. If you value your health in this time of COVID Delta variant. You should be cautious about having Eller's staff into your homes. We've been with Eller Services for a long time. Normally I would recommend them but our health makes this a big problem. Recently I contacted them about whether their service staff that come to our house are vaccinated. They said they had a policy of never asking their staff this question. (HIPPA has nothing to do with this) I said my wife and I were high risk and wanted vaccinated staff to do our service. Eller said because of our concern about vaccination they would no long do business with us. I offered a compromise suggesting that the unvaccinated wear a mask in our home. They said because of our concern about vaccinations they had made up their minds no matter what not to do business with us. If you've been reading the news you know this is a hazardous time due to the new D variant that's been making a lot of people sick. Eller won't do this simple thing to protect their customers. The good is that they have Ari and the bad is also that they ONLY have Ari. Got a new Trane HVAC system installed from Eller Services after receiving Ari's sales pitch thru #Lowe's. The crew performing the install was OK but appeared to be understaffed and NOT prepared with all the tools of the trade frequently waiting for someone else to finish up some aspect of the job. The complete install took 2 days to finish due to wiring issues which only Ari could resolve.....Anyways, AC worked fine for the cooling season, Furnace firing up is a rocket launch straight out of NASA! I guess that's what happens when a system install takes place without any J calculations. Last I called these guys was to check for a humidifier issue and high electricity bills after the furnace kicked in. The humidifier leak was fixed but zero response on why my electric bills are so high. I guess I'm going to have another Trane dealer to look into the job performed by Eller. Not satisfied to say the least. read more

Eller services... wow. Had a broken pipe in my sink. I heard it recently became under new ownership. Who comes to a home on the fly on a Friday after thanksgiving??? Well... they do! I was shocked and pleasantly surprised... the plumbers were amazing quick and courteous! And legit so prompt! Called when our air conditioner stopped working on a very hot day. The receptionist was very polite and accommodating to our schedule, working to ensure that we were seen the same day. Other places we had called were a minimum of 3 days wait time. Turns out my husband and I are rookie homeowners and just required a new air filter (duh, we'll know that for next time) but our technician, Kyle, was very polite and took the time to ensure that everything looked good with the ac. Additionally, he was very honest with his recommendation and I feel comfortable that when we require HVAC services in the future, Eller Services will be honest and accommodating to our schedule. read more

Do not use these people! We did the mistake of buying our furnace through Lowe's and this is the local contractor company. Some of the workers are really nice, but one is very rude. It took 5 visit to instal a furnace, every time they were missing one piece and blaming the person that came before them for it. After the 5th morning stock at home with people in the basement the furnace was working, even though, one time they forgot to turn the water heater back and proceed to come back to turn it back on. Then the inspector came and apparently they didn't even take a look at the the manual of instructions. Pipes were connected not properly, some was not glue, some didn't have the proper silicone, the pipe that was going to the outside was falling and not even directed in the right way... but MOSTLY the safety switch was off. The inspector was amazed, I and my husband were furious instead. We have small kids and they go to the basement and the furnace is in the middle of it. When I said I was upset that the safety switch was off the answer was that it doesn't matter, it is not an important thing, it will just start to such up air if the door falls? Really? This company calls you every day, my husband said to please call me instead, but they probably didn't trust my number (that has a different area code) or they are note able to put on note for that, so they kept calling him at work. Then when they call me (other than one nice girl) the rest can't even say my name correctly and proceed to call me with another, and it is not a difficult name. Today, with the visit number 6 they swore they took care of everything and that it is the local inspector that is very picky. These people didn't even bother looking at the manual of instructions and proceeded to have 6 violations and they call the inspector picky? 5 times to install a furnace I believe it is already too much, but 5 visits to installing incorrectly is not only ridiculous but outrageous. We had several estimates to replace the furnace and run new ductwork. Family heating actually no quoted the job. Which means they wouldn't even give us a quote. We had a wonderful experience with Eller Services. They installed a new furnace, AC, and wi-fi thermostat and were professional, polite, and did a clean install. Due to wi-fi connectivity problems related to our home network, they had to come out a couple times to resolve the problem but did so without any issues. Professional, Timely, but expensive! I had a leaky toilet. I asked a carpenter friend who he would recommend to repair it - Eller Services was one of two he recommended. I called and was able to set an appointment for the next afternoon for between 2 - 3 pm. Nick arrived just before 2:00 pm. Took one look at the leak and was able to correctly diagnose that the wax seal was leaking at the flange. He disconnected the toilet, set it on its back and showed me how the wax seal had collapsed on one side over time causing the toilet to leak. Nick replaced the wax ring and bolts and supply tube. He had to leave for about 30 minutes to get an almond caulk to seal the toilet at the floor but was finished with the job by 3:45 pm. Total of approximately $25 in parts and the bill was $189 + the $69 service call. I feel the charge would have been reasonable at $89 + the service call. Would I call Eller Services again? Yes, but not before getting a firm cost before having them out. UPDATE: After just two years the toilet repair done by Eller Services was leaking again. I used another company that fixed it right. Seems like the Eller Tech placed the wax ring crooked. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ELLER SERVICES. Find someone else at a more reasonable cost. read more

Terrible service. Worker came to our house, said we need a certain part. A part we had recently replaced. Said we needed a new one, He left and went to pick one up at a supplier, brought it back an hour later, installed it, and our furnace was still not operational. He fiddled around a bit and said we needed a new, different part. The part he put in, which was not needed was $125. I told him to put in our original part. He called his supplier for the part he said was needed but it was not in stock I told him to overnight the part. Before he left he asked for $180 for his two hours. We would have enjoyed some heat since the overnight temps were in the upper 30's. Three day later we had still not heard from them and when I called back they said it would be in "any day now". The next day I tried again and still no part. I told them I was going to hire another contractor and that they ripped me off for 2 hrs when nothing was done. Not even a return call. I have an older home, it has needed a lot of work over the years, and I have probably spent $10,000 or more getting the various plumbing issues fixed in this time. I have used Eller exclusively for this. I can't say enough good things about them. The ladies who answer the phone are unfailingly polite and helpful. And Lyle, the head plumber, is smart, kind, and a creative problem solver who will work long hours to make everything right. If Lyle does it, it will be done right.
