Good food, friendly people, and reasonable pricing. One of my favorite breakfast joints in the area.

Husband and I stopped by for lunch one Friday afternoon. I had a Farmers Omelette, hubby had a burger and fries. We both thought the food was only OK. I had wheat toast with my eggs and when I asked for a swipe of peanut butter (instead of butter) I was told it would be $2.39 extra. For a teaspoon of peanut butter. The cherry was paying a service fee for using my debit card. Nickel and dime. Wont be back. read more

Well driving out of Lansing we stumbled upon an OPEN Cafe on Xmas Eve. We even found parking on the street for our truck and trailer. Haha right across from the police station. Perfect lol!! Hopped out and went in!! Not too busy in town due to the holiday so we got lucky. We got our drinks and ordered food. Me just oatmeal and homemade raisin toast! Wow they make all their bread! And sell it! Anyway mine was delish and had fresh blueberries in it. Yum. Bf had chef salad and steak on the side! Company was good and so was the food. Will try to remember this place read more

It's exactly what you would expect from a small town Country Kitchen! Mom and Gramma's home cooking. Hot and comfy food. Nothing like their homemade soups, chili, salads and dressings....except for maybe their strawberry pie, yummy delicious! Or maybe hot chocolate and homemade cinnamon rolls before or after you start your scrumptious breakfast! You won't be disappointed! Charming place with really friendly service. read more

The helpings are really large here but the quality is just okay. My review is for breakfast food since I have never had lunch or dinner here. I like to get omelettes with veggies and it appears that they use veggies that have been prepped a day or two before- not something fresh. The tomatoes and peppers seem watery, almost as if they were frozen and thawed... although I doubt they were... The mushrooms used are canned... I wish they used more fresh food for the price of items on the menu. read more

Had lunch there today while I was in the neighborhood doing some antique shopping. It was a late lunch, so the place was empty. The booths are in rough shape. I wasn't expecting a fancy place, but every single seat has HUGE rips and tears all over them. I had a corned beef sandwich which has maybe 4 very thin slices of corned beef on it... it really needed at least 4 more. You have to pay extra for fries otherwise you end up with potato chips. Overall it was what I expected for a little hole in the wall diner. The service was good. The two ladies who helped me were friendly. read more

JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL! Their pancakes can't be beat! Home made batter, a little crispy on the edges from the frying pan, and did I detect a hint of vanilla? The waffles are also homemade; airy and delicious. Then there's the sausage links... are these made from unicorns? SOO good. read more

A place to avoid. Restaurant wasn't busy yet food was barely warm when it arrived. Biscuit with sausage gravy, while portion was large, actual food or I should say the biscuit was tasteless (paste like taste actually). Side order didn't come out with my main order, even though I placed the ordered at the same time. My co-diner said his toast was cold, America fries weren't very good and that his breakfast was mediocre at best. Our bill came out to $15 and change - two breakfasts, one scrambled egg and two cups of coffee. Not wallet breaking, but I felt like was cheated out of $15 for such a bad breakfast as I have had much,much better for a few dollars less. Coffee was good and server was friendly, just slow. The place is tired and needs to find a direction. Either embrace small town place/greasy spoon or go fancy, just do something with conviction. Right now it's not even adequate and probably still alive only because of limited or no competition in the immediate vicinity. read more

Good prices, great service. In particular the thick fresh made bread for the toast was outstanding.

The service is slow, which is always annoying. It's often very hot in this place, too -- like they don't have A/C or something. That's not comfortable. The food is alright; there's nothing special about it at all. The prices are slightly above what you'd expect for what you get, but they seem to have the corner on the market, so ... Overall, it's just mediocre, at best. My wife and I just can't seem to find any other places to eat breakfast in Williamston, though, so we're stuck with Ellie's for now. Paper thin watery omelet with canned mushrooms and zero taste. Couldn't even eat it. Home fries were saturated in oil, couldn't eat them. Belgian waffle was decent. Ellie's Country Kitchen is a small family-friendly restaurant in downtown Williamston. It has great food, at good prices and a homey atmosphere. It is perfect for a family dinner, with friendly and efficient waitstaff, and a relaxed attitude. All of the breakfasts are top-notch, and my seven year old son (a card-carrying pancake expert) says that the blueberry pancakes are the best around. (He's not wrong.) We have tried several of the entrees that are offered and never been disappointed. The broasted chicken is great, and so are the burgers. If you get a chance, try their strawberry shortcake! read more

It's a tasty diner, plain and simple with your run-of-the-mill diner food. Nothing special, a bit old and dated. You can buy fresh jams and jellys they make. The service was very good and the food came out very quickly. Nice and cheap, with no complaints. read more

I thought the place was dirty, which is always a bad sign. We stayed for the food though because that is what really counts. I ordered a simple egg dish with some sausage patties. I didn't touch the sausage patties. I understand food doesn't always have to be pretty to be delicious but a sausage pattie shouldn't look how it did. This is disappointing because I was hoping my Williamston would have a good breakfast place, but I would rather continue to cook at home instead of eat here. read more

My friend and I ate at this diner last week. The service and the food were excellent. The chef came out and talked to us. We ended up buying jam from their wide selection of preserves. I had the taco salad. It came with a great salsa. I asked for more. The taco bowl was served with taco chips which were nice and crisp and much easier to eat than the bowl. My friend's sandwich and french fries were also good. We have put it on our list of Williamston eateries to repeat. read more

Visiting my brother in E. Lansing we stopped here for breakfast on our way to Detroit to visit American Jewelry & Loan, (Hardcore Pawn). Best breakfast I've had on the road in a long, long time. The eggs were perfect, firm whites and runny yolks. The toast had just the right crunchiness. Everything was hot and tasteful. The booth we sat in did not have any rips or tears on the upholstery and I didn't notice any booths or chairs that did. The prices were very reasonable. I did have to get up and ask for coffee refills, (I think there was a staff meeting going on at the back). read more
