Straight forward breakfast stuffs with good service and kind folks. A regular place to take the kiddo for a pile of tasty food.

Well, it was our first time visiting the cafe, arrived 1pm on Sunday, the cafe was 1/3 empty on arrival, ordered for the two of us at 1:10pm and then we were promptly forgotten, forgotten twice it seems, in fact. There are only what(?) 10 small table in the place, lol. They finally whipped up our two small plates at 1:50pm after serving a large party of six who arrived and ordered 15 minutes after us and were served 10 minutes before. Might not want to come here if you are hungry. The cook can make good food real fast, once they get the order. Sad face. read more

We enjoy the service and food at Sunnyside Cafe! Great service! They offer some unique items, such as their avocado toast with chick peas! My son loved that! The freshly made, homemade egg salad in a wrap is one of my favorites! I just wish their hours were longer so I could go whenever I'd like to! Haha read more

Well, I have to say that this restaurant is back on track. They hit a bit of a speedbump awhile ago but they have recovered and are back to doing what they do best. Service was good, food was cooked to follow customer requests (very important to me). The food tasted great. I tend to stick to the same order because that's what I do but there were many interesting special items available and the wife says those have been great. I really wanted to like this adorable diner. But it was pretty average and overpriced. The server was friendly but we had some communication challenges to work through. The food took a really long time considering the place was pretty empty. It tasted "fine" but nothing to write home about. It feels like at this price point it should be a step up from traditional diner food. Sadly it's not. It's not that I don't recommend the place, but I likely won't make the drive back out there myself. read more

They charged me for lemons in my water ... never in my 20 years of management and serving experience have I experienced this... the open kitchen and looking at the cook ... I was really hoping he wasn't the one cooking my food. He looked so dirty and unsanitary... also the food was bad. Service was fine. I won't be back. Poor poor ownership and management. Charging for lemons... please buddy. If you are that desperate for money maybe consider another career. Or spend some time training your cooks how to cook, and the people will come. read more

Super cute breakfast spot just minutes from the heart of Williamston, MI! We dined in and had a good experience. We both ordered the veggie with egg whites, and my significant other added grilled chicken and Avocado to his. We both got home fries with our meals and thought they were good. All-in-all, the portion size felt smaller than other breakfast spots in the greater Lansing area, and the service, ambiance, and wait time were comparable to our favorite breakfast joints. Prices felt high, but I'm chalking that up to the current inflation we are feeling in all aspects of life right now. Definitely recommend this spot for locals! read more

We visited this place today I must say it was a real disappointment after seeing all the hard work the show put in fixing this place the floors were dirty it looked like half of the seating was missing it felt like eating in a cafeteria cold vibes also they gave us the wrong food and the biscuits and gravy were not good at all the hashbrowns were over cooked the hot dog was burnt I don't recommend going to this restaurant! read more

Cute and simple place. Just like their sign says, "nothin' fancy, just good food!" We were a group of 6 and chose to get breakfast food. The best indication with my family is clean plates. And they ALL were. Things we ordered: Super Ham and cheese omelette - ordered no onions and they got it right. Also, the eggs were cooked perfectly and the hash browns and toast weren't lacking in buttery goodness. Scrambler - such a great blend of simple food. Cooked perfect. Chocolate Chip pancakes - the 5 year old cleared them. Country Carol - 2 orders of it; they both loved the gravy and pile of food. One stated they would have loved it to be a bit bigger. (Note: comes with Over Medium eggs unless you specify different.) Corned Beef Hash bowl - hash has a nice grilled crisp on it and everything was layered yummily. After seeing Sunnyside Cafe featured on a recent episode of Restaurant Impossible, I just had to try it even though it meant a 45 minute drive. It has a cute sunny atmosphere and the staff was very welcoming. The Texas cinnamon raisin bread French toast was delish. There is a lot of variety on the menu. read more

We go in for breakfast occasionally for our Class of 70 get together when we can (before the makeover) and the food was good but now it is even better. The new menus and addition items on the newest menu look even more enticing! Visiting my family and had to go to Sunnyside once more. Had a little waiting time so we enjoyed the nice weather outside until a couple tables cleared for our group size. Abby was a great waitress. Food is absolutely amazing. What a great variety of choices! Prices are on point. Owner Jeanette was busy, yet took the time to smile, wave and share a little conversation. Don in the kitchen was doing his thing handling the rush without lowering the quality. Moving to a new location in South Carolina and I hope to find an establishment as great as this one. Great little pizza's in the little town. They have a new patio in between two buildings with a great comfy eating area.

Despite being listed as a breakfast and brunch place they do NOT serve breakfast after noon on weekdays! They do not have this info posted on their Facebook or Yelp page and we just wasted a 30 minute drive. We'll stick with Roxy's Cafe or Golden Harvest when we want a killer breakfast. Sunnyside was one of the first restaurants to open as non-smoking in Williamston. They quickly attracted a great staff and employee a number of students who are working their first jobs. This is a great place to swing by for breakfast or lunch - the food is very good, the staff is always friendly and I have yet to have a bad service. Keep up the great work Sunnyside! read more

The waitress even seemed hesitant to ask - she was friendly and got everything right for our table of 6. Food was average. But honestly not so good that we'd choose this place over another. Sunnyside is your typical small town cafe. Great food, greater service, and friendly atmosphere. Everyone's a regular and its tradition to go for breakfast every day! Big sign on front door. No outside food allowed. I witnessed staff telling a family with a baby they could not feed their baby jar food or bottle. The few times we ate here our food wasn't cooked properly. I asked for well done and was still pink in spots. The food is just okay. Staff was friendly and reasonably priced menu. Stop serving breakfast at 12 but the place closes at 2, seems pointless. The service is absolutely horrible, no hello, no goodbye, no need to tell us your name or wear a nametag or shirt or anything that actually shows the waitress works there. The waitress literally walked up with a pad and pen and just looked at us, not even a what'l you have. Then to stand at the register waiting to pay while the employees jaw with the people at the bar is not excusable. They surely do not want the customer to return. Very amateur run establishment, and to be this close to Michigan State it was surprising to see the place littered with old Ohio State stuff. Food is mostly Gordon food service and Sysco, like an overpriced Denny's with bad service and short hours. When breakfast ends it's just burgers and sandwich, not what you'd expect at a sit down diner. Will not return. read more
