My overall experience was so so. I placed an order over the phone and it was surprising to me that when I went to go pick up the order I still had to wait in line in order to pay. I asked her if I am able to pay over the phone next time and she said, maybe, she just has never done that before. I understand I have to pay, but waiting in line seems like it defeats the purpose of placing a Togo order. I had the breakfast bagel with ham, cheese and jalapeños and it was alright. I also got an iced vanilla latte but couldn't drink more than 3 sips because it was too strong for me. It was also a bit warm for an ice coffee. I also got the chocolate twist donut and my coworker said it was a bit cold , but she warmed it up. read more

I ordered Sandwiches but because it was not there 5 desired Sandwiches I had to pay extra. A ham and cheese sandwich on white bread with mustard, lettuce, tomato and onion was $17.00. Really, very outrageous price. It was really a $5.00 Sandwich. The meat was put in the middle and was not through out the Sandwich. Will not be getting Sandwiches again from here. read more

Tasty sandwiches, fancy espresso drinks, eclectic shopping, and pony rides all in one stop! Stopped by here for lunch based on a friend's recommendation. We ordered the Turkey Royal sandwich, the Pistol Packin' Pesto sandwich and the breakfast burrito. The sandwiches were both very yummy. The bread was fresh and there were of ample size to fill you up. Mine was the PPP and although it was good, I would try something else next time. Mom loved her Turkey Royal. We both opted for the Potato Salad which was good. The breakfast burrito was tastey but kind of small. After lunch we spent the next hour moseying through the eclectic collection of merchandise in back half of the shop. There was a wide range of merchandise from jewelry to clothes, from kids toys to bedding and furniture, from knick knacks to antiques. I will definatly be back to try some more sandwiches and do a little shopping. read more

My husband and I were in town visiting family and we ate here just about every day! They have really good sandwiches and the best bread. They also have specials some days which I tried a bite of my husband's Cuban and it was super good! My only complaint is that they were out of everything I wanted when I came, haha. Cuban, tri-tip, cookies... I guess that means it's good because they often sell out pretty darn early, before 1pm most days it seemed. Still fantastic and we will definitely be back to give the tri-tip another shot. :) read more

On an early November day low clouds leaking rain hung over the Rogue Valley but indications were that the sun was shining on California, so I leaped on the Silver Streak for a ride to Scott Valley. There the sun made the oaks glow bright orange where they were surrounded by dark green pines on the hills. The massive green-clad Marble Mountains, still without snow, bordered the valley. The hay fields were mowed and brown yet some cattle had young calves so close to winter. I parked on the gravel next to the Gifted Horse Lodge in Ft. Jones. The front of the building is a deli with country art decorating the walls and a mix of antique tables and chairs awaited customers. Not taking the time to order a custom sandwich, I picked the Turkey Royal that came on a soft hoagie bun holding thin slices of turkey, cheese, cranberry sauce and other goodies. Lots of good food. The side of potato salad (In a tiny plastic cup) was too salty. After the meal, I wandered through several back rooms full of assorted junk, antiques, toys, children's books and signs; no doubt a treasure trove for some types of shoppers. I left to take a detour through the northern part of the valley, passing the Quartz Indian Agency, looping back to Fort Jones and exiting over the Soap Creek Ridge were the serpentine rocks glistened in the sun and rode north to gloomy Oregon. read more

This is the go to coffee place in fort jones. They're consistently open with good coffee and breakfast for meetings. It's not uncommon to pop in for coffee to get the day going when you've got a crew. Good food, better coffee read more

The gifted Horse is a great place! We actually stayed in their lodge behind the deli- and it was a great place to stay-highly recommend. We also feed our hunger at the deli- the breakfast bagel sandwich was delicious. The deli also has some great gifts and locally made items. Worth a stop! read more

We recently stayed at Diane's cottage and it was fantastic. The place was very clean and comfortable and Diane was very helpful both before and during our trip. She has a great shop and deli in front of the cottage. We ordered 8 sandwiches for a big bicycle ride we were doing in the area and they were fantastic. If they were local to me I would get the sandwiches all the time. Her daughter and the rest of the staff were very friendly. I would highly recommend and am already planning another trip to this amazing and beautiful part of California. read more

Best sandwiches, exploding flavours, tasty bread, right amount of condiments, all fresh ingtedients! The prices are affordable, which are nice compared to other places that are way overprized and the quality is not near what this place can offer. Highly reccomendable, the bakery has a very cozy atmosphere with such warm and welcoming staff. In the back of the bakery there are plenty of interesting stuff as well guests can explore.
