The last time that I came here was in 2015. I gave this 3 stars. For this review, if I had to select a title it would be "disappointment". My husband and I were visiting the Burien Farmer's Market and decided to stop in for lunch here. The day before our area experienced a heat wave. Apparently this effected this place of business. There were fans going everywhere, no a/c in place; I was hesitant to enter and I should have gone with my instincts. It wasn't awful so that we couldn't stand it, so we stayed. We had a very friendly waitress, wish I could remember her name but she was very good. I ordered a peach tea and my husband ordered a cider, I believe it was pineapple and another fruit based. I ordered the Ahi Taco Wrap and my husband ordered the Luna Fish and Chips. My husband's drink arrived with an apology from another server as she poured the wrong drink for him. He was gracious and took it anyway. Out come our plates. I tasted my husbands fish and found it seriously lacking in flavor; nothing great here. Now let's get to my Ahi wrap; I had serious issues with this.This includes tuna, avocado, cilantro lime coleslaw with chipotle aioli and lime on the side. House made chips and salsa were included. The wrap was hugely disappointing. The ratio of tuna to coleslaw was seriously off. 90 percent of this wrap was coleslaw. The chips weren't fresh and the salsa was just ok, had a sweet type of base, which I don't like in my salsa. The lime included was stale and I couldn't get a drop out of this. The chipotle was so so. The coleslaw had no distinctive cilantro lime flavor. This dish was entirely disappointing and priced at 19.95. Never again. My husband's dish had two pieces of fish and was priced at 18.50. So after the cost of the drinks, the meal was over 60. Shame on us for a few things: 1. For not looking closely at the prices 2. And for most importantly, for simply not grabbing a decently priced hot dog at the farmers market. I'm positive this would have been better and a better deal. We will not be back to this place. Came here with a large group for lunch. Everyone had pretty good meals. I had the no doubt stout bbq burger with sweet potato fries. Order led the burger medium and it came out well done, luckily the sauce gave it some moisture. I'm scoring the burger a 3 based on how it was cooked. Easily could have been a 5. Now the sweet potato fries, they were a 5+. Best sweet potato fries I've ever had!! read more

We came for the beers, stayed for the gaufrettes. They were so delicious!! The root beer was great too but sucks with no refills. The Philly was the best meal we had but the meat tasted a bit old. The bbq burger was a thin patty that fell apart. Chicken tenders were fine. Prices aren't cheap, but the service was fine. Servers were nice. Beer selection mostly IPAs and ales. read more

What an awesome place! We don't live in the area (we live north) but if we're ever back in the area we will definitely make a stop here. We recently had a baby so when we do go out we want it to be a great experience and Elliot Bay Brewing definitely delivered. Beer 5/5 Food 5/5 Service 5/5 The beer options here are outstanding! Being fall 3 of us had the Mashing Pumpkin Ale, it's so good we bought some in cans to enjoy at home. I also did a taster of the Bourbon Fontleroy, which was also delicious. Other beers enjoyed at our table were the Sour Gold and Elliot Bay IPA. I forgot to get pics of our appetizers but we had the large pretzel and sweet potato waffle fries. Both were good. Meals: I had the chicken tenders plate with tots. The tenders are huge. I could only eat one and my tots. My husband had the spicy chicken sandwich which with tots he said was excellent. His dad had the same sandwich but with fries, he cleared his plate so I assume he liked it, and his wife had the tofu sandwich. I know she was appreciative of the veggie options on the menu. Our server (yesterday around 2pm-ish) was friendly and attentive but I also didn't feel rushed at all which I super appreciate - I don't remember his name. The vibe of the place seemed super chill. We live north but nowhere near their other locations so I don't know when we will get to enjoy Elliot Bay Brewing again, but I hope it's not too far into the distant future. This lovely little brewpub in Burien gives Irish bar more than it gives brewery, but I still enjoyed my visit here to meet a work colleague for a late lunch (and, of course, a couple of beers). On this visit, I enjoyed their house-brewed rice lager and a delicious ahi tuna wrap. The cold beer tasted good after a long flight, and the tuna wrap was fresh and filling. The vibe here is a little dark (thus the Irish pub reference), but there's plenty of parking (at least mid-day!) and the staff were very friendly. We just missed happy hour during our visit, but it looked like they had some great food options (plus they take a bit off of each pint). Cheers! read more

Met up with a coworker for a coworking session and light lunch here at Elliot Bay and had a decent time. I've passed it a lot in the past and have always been curious, so I'm glad I got to visit! It was pretty empty on a Thursday early afternoon and I was able to find a spot in their small lot which was nice. Service was also good and no wait on seating. I asked what hazys they had and opted for one that sounded more citrusy, and was brought something that looked more like an amber but definitely tasted like a very bitter IPA. Wasn't a huge fan. I opted for the second hazy choice after that and it was perfect! I think maybe he got mixed up in which one he gave me first because the second one fit the description that initially sounded good to me. The menu has a lot of solid sounding options and I was stuck between the cod tacos and the spicy chicken sandwich. I opted for the cod tacos as that is a summer favorite for me. It came with a side of tortilla chips and salsa - the salsa was tasty but the chips were definitely stale. The tacos were just okay, definitely not the best I've had. They were loaded with a little too much slaw, and the breading on the fish was more soggy than it was crispy. That said, the sauce they give you to drizzle on top of them made up for it because it was stellar! Definitely the star of the show and made the discrepancies easy to get past. I feel that pricing was also a little steep for the area, but that's my opinion. Overall Elliot Bay is a good place to stop for a casual lunch and I would return to try more of the menu (looking at you, spicy chicken sandwich) and beers - they had a large selection! read more

We came here for a family gathering on Sunday afternoon. What I loved about this place was the way the space was laid out and ample seating available (could also be due to the facts that the Seahawks didn't play until later in the day) which by the way, lots of TVs in the bar area. A very ample about of beer choices which a place with "brewing" in the name should have. The food menu also is well diverse with a lot of options. Service was ok. It took a little long to get sat but our impression was that was due to being short staffed and we were a party of 7. Service was pretty prompt once we ordered. Food came to the table mostly correct ( one side substitution didn't happen correctly) and overall, we were satisfied. Menu felt well priced and lots of options so I'm pretty pleased with our experience. I look forward to coming back. read more

The chowder was so delicious I went back the same night, for dinner! We loved the German hot salted pretzel, totally legit and the cheese sauce scrumptious! Steak and Cheese was great and enough for two meals, as was the "Cuban Sandwich." While the Cuban was tasty it wasn't a Cuban by definition but still delicious. We were visiting Seattle area and a local friend suggested meeting here because of the wide menu item variety to appeal to just about everyone. We had great service in this local hangout that gave a warm welcome. I ordered the Teriyaki Bowl with Salmon and I was in heaven. Salmon was cooked to perfection and wonderful quality, tasty and the Teriyaki sauce complimented perfectly. My hubby had chicken strips with onion rings which were plentiful, delicious and satisfying. Our friends had Salas with Salmon and chicken strips platter. Everyone enjoyed. read more

GREAT MICROBREW BEER & RESTAURANT. If you love beer like I do, you will love this small brewery restaurant. Yes, they brew the beer right here, so you know it's fresh. And unlike some breweries, they have a full service restaurant! The staff and servers are extremely friendly and if you go the as often as I do, they will soon recognize you and greet you warmly. The food, well, I would say the burgers and fries is your best bet. The Reuben sandwich is also excellent and I have a friend who can't get it out of his head! The wings are a little too dry and the blue cheese dressing is too thin. But hey. It's a brewery with a restaurant and I cone for the beer. I feel the servers are my friends and I always get a growler of the Ride the Cyclone IPA. Although I do wish they would bring back the North Atlantic Haze. Well, I can dream can't I? Brewery was nice and open, was greeted nicely from a hostess and our server he was good, kept checking on us and let us order freely. We had taken one of his tables for a while. Wings were crispy and had good flavor. Calamari was good and had nice breading. The Sheppards pie was really good and tasted pretty traditional. The beer, which is the reason we came there, is actually pretty good. Only a handful of them are truly organic as advertised, but the rest of the beers were good as well. I really enjoyed the Cascadian Dark Ale, an unusual style also known as a Black IPA. The food was certainly decent bar food. It was a huge salad. The only negative which makes my rating a 3.5 was that we got a flight which was supposed to be five beers for $14 but it turned out one of them he said later was special and hit us for another $3. Meaning the flight was actually $17 for for five beers. Not a big deal but other than just apologies (sorry bro I should have told you) they didn't offer anadjustment which seemed a little odd since they hadn't told us... Again, good beer, decent food, and a great shuffle board table. read more

A friend and I stopped here for a late lunch yesterday. We sat at the bar and the bartender let me try several beer samples before I decided on their pilsner. I got a chicken caesar salad with grilled chicken. While the chicken was super juicy, it was a little too peppery for my liking. Overall, it's a great place to grab a meal and drink. read more

I grabbed dinner and a couple beers at the Elliott Bay Brewing Company on my way home from work. The Alembic Pale Ale is good (not great), their (it's non-alcoholic) Root Beer is excellent, and the Bourbon Fauntleroy (Imperial) Stout is phenomenal. The (I forget the name) Fish Sandwich Special, deep fried fish, chipotle aioli, & slaw, was also excellent. I sat at the bar, and the service was excellent. Friendly, and on top of things. I usually don't write reviews, but after today's experience, I feel like I have to. I've been coming to Elliott Bay for years as a local in Burien, and while the food has always been solid, today's service was beyond disappointing. From the moment my friend and I were seated, our waitress never greeted us, smiled, or made any effort to be welcoming. She just took our order and disappeared. We didn't see her again. A food runner dropped off our meals, and even she looked irritated while setting our plates down. Halfway through eating, we realized we never got water. My friend managed to catch our waitress as she was passing by and politely asked for some. We figured she'd bring it right over--but no. She continued taking care of other tables while completely ignoring ours. By the time the water finally arrived, we had already finished eating. We had to flag her down again just to ask for the check. What made this even more frustrating was that the restaurant wasn't even busy. It was fairly empty, so there was no reason for the service to be this slow or inattentive. After waiting several minutes for someone to grab our payment, we gave up and walked to the front to pay ourselves. Even then, no one helped us. Meanwhile, we saw other customers being checked out at their tables--something we were never offered. Here's the thing--the food is great, and the atmosphere is cozy, but the service completely ruined the experience. We felt ignored, unappreciated, and honestly, like we weren't welcome. A little effort and basic hospitality go a long way. Elliott Bay, do better. Your staff needs serious retraining in customer service. read more

I haven't been to Elliot Bay (in Burien) in years, but it's still really good. EBB - Burien is a place I frequented a lot when it first opened. The menu has went through a few minor changes, but it's largely the same - and still really good. I ordered the California Ave w/o Cheese, with a side of Sweet Potato fries. I also tried the Reuben. The burger is good. If you like burgers, especially with avocado, then I don't think you'll be disappointed. It was cooked to medium rare, upon request and was exactly what I expected. The Reuben was extremely good. It's been a long time since I've tried a Reuben, and this was a pleasant surprise. It had a great balance of flavors between the meat, kraut, and 1,000 island. Really good burger. Aside from that, there are a great selection of in-house drinks. Staff is always friendly. One of my favorite, consistent good, spots in Burien. read more

This is a late review, but the day we went, business was slow but I wasn't content with service. We began by placing our names on the waitlist on the tablet, and shortly after, a host/hostess was working behind the counter but didn't check in with us. We sat there waiting, assuming they were busy, until another customer arrived, did the same thing and were helped before us. Never did the host/hostess check in with us until we walked up and spoke with them. I can only assume that the tablet was malfunctioning but the fact 3 host/hostesses worked at the front and didn't check on us once was disappointing. For food, we were craving gourmet burgers that night, and they were your standard. Portion is big and accompanied by sides. I personally prefer their other entrees, such as the soups, salads, and jambalaya. Everything is heavy and hearty, but be mindful which location you visit because each branch will have their own unique items on their menus in addition to the standard. Ambience is dark and intimate, but the ability to hear your party is difficult even when sitting across the table from each other. Conclusion: Elliot Bay is a great establishment for hearty meals accompanied by an extensive beer selection. However, I cannot confidently recommend the Burien location and highly suggest visiting the West Seattle branch. read more

The steak on the steak salad are cubed small beef that are skewered. You get like 2-3 steak "kebabs". Not bad, just weird and wasn't aesthetically pleasing nor looked appetizing. Not sure if the ownership changed or what, but this place has really declined overall. Shared the spicy chicken sandwich: a thick bun, and inch of fried batter, and maybe quarter inch of chicken. Absolutely awful. Fries were like cardboard. Food has really taken a nose dive here. Server (at the bar) was standoffish and seemed to gravitate more toward the regulars(?). Ours was a tremendously mediocre dining experience. My wife ordered a pulled pork sandwich (photo). I ordered a hamburger. My wife asked about the bun--what kind of bread was it? The server frowned. "I dunno," she said. "I'll go check." Ten minutes later, she was back, still frowning. "The chef didn't understand your question. He said it's just bread." It was just bread. And, as you can see, the sandwich is at least 60% bread. Mine was the same. These weren't gourmet buns. No--they were the kind you get at the bargain grocery store across the street. Remember Wonder Bread? Go to Elliot Bay Brewhouse if you want a Wonder Bread refresher. Also, the pulled pork contained no detectable flavor. Instead, the server dumped a thimble of mud-colored, generic BBQ sauce on the table and left. My flavorless, undercooked burger came with it, too. My mom ordered a hamburger that was cold and the meat was PAPER THIN. Not exaggerating, McDonalds has thicker patties. We were charged for a beer that we didn't order. It used to be a great place to eat but has really fallen off. Felt like we were being taken advantage of, high prices with sub par food and service.
