I absolutely love this place! I have been there for dinner and had multiple items from their menu and shared with friends and they were delicious. Went there for breakfast, went there hungry because I was so excited, don't order the avocado toast! Very, very disappointing!! I left their hungry and sad. Piece of bread I couldn't even cut the crust, avocado spread of some sort and an egg, whoop, whoop, blah! Please add a tomato add bacon, some kind of hollandaise sauce do something. It wasn't very good at all. I couldn't even look at the server when asked how was your meal. On a sidenote, the servers are wonderful great place The only complaint is that damn avocado toast. This was a pit stop for my friend and myself on the way to the airport. The place was nice and comfortable. Our server was amazing. We just got a coffee and iced tea. My friend said the coffee was one of the best he had have. Unfortunately the tea was not good at all, but the service made up for it. I got an order of bacon wrapped dates to go, and they were yummy. If you are looking for a great place to meet co-workers for an after shift drink with fantastic appetizers-this is the spot. Parking can be a little tricky so plan on parking on one of the side streets. I love their hearty salads, pasta and of course, their wine. The service is always wonderful as they've made it feel very homely having the same employees for years, they're always kind and know your names. The food is on point even with the best restaurants in the city. The steaks are perfect and the other things that come with also excel. The burrata salad is my favorite thing. What a fun, intimate dinner we had here! I wish I could remember our server's name because she was outstanding. And so was the food!! We usually go to the 913 side and accidentally wandered in here only to find out we had access to the same menu in a less-busy, cozy atmosphere. A great spot for a causal bite or a nice dinner out. We came on a warm summer night and were able to sit outside on the patio. Ambiance was great! The servers were very friendly and attentive. We had a couple of appetizers, bacon wrapped dates & bruschetta. The dates were over the top yum. The bruschetta was good as well, it was a good portion. Hubs and I both ordered the burger. Last night this place blew my socks off! The staff (Lauren), bartender was making delicious drinks, and the food! I got the fried chicken sandwich with mac and cheese (yessss queen it comes with it). The chicken was flaky and delightful! The place want packed, I felt safe and the staff were on it! It was my first time and I will be back! I also saw the coffee/espresso machine and had to ask "do you have an affagato" - they doooo!!! This is a huge dessert that I love! I miss being in AZ and getting this dessert as a night cap! Went on a date here and was seated in the bar area. Nice cosy ambiance so it can get really loud. Cheese plate presentation was beautiful, wish there were more that two cheeses on it. The pear salad was just a-ok. The winner dish was the king salmon. Very tasty. read more

We just finished an early dinner at the 909. We enjoyed a lovely Malbec, beer from Logan brewery, and an Italian one. Bacon wrapped dates and a Caesar salad. Our main meals included a hamburger, flat iron steak, and Sambuca prawns. Finishing up the night with the brownie dessert and two specials a pistachio cannoli with meyer lemon cream and a butterscotch carmel all wonderful. read more

Oh yum, so much yum! I've had this place on my "list" for about a year now, and being that we've moved to the area (Normandy park) a few months ago, there's no better time than now! Took my son here after school today and I'm so glad I did. It sounds like this will be a weekly occasion for us moving forward as he exclaimed the olive appetizer and Steak dinner was perfection to him, and I happen to agree. I personally couldn't decide what to get, but landed on the ragu which was simply fantastic. I truly cannot wait to try everything on the menu, while my son sticks to his favorite; the steak. We had dinner here 2 weeks ago and I am still thinking about it. Dinner was great, staff was amazing, environment/energy was pleasant and festive, cocktails were craft and very much a treat after a long work week and drive to Burien on 405s and 518! I have enjoyed a few breakfasts here in the past and have had dinner here a year or two ago (which was memorably very good, but we don't live in Burien); however, our recent visit was exceptionally excellent. We tried to get in elsewhere without reservations (nope!) and then tried to get in at their 913 but were seated to 909 and HAPPILY. WHAT AN AMAZING, FORTUNATE 'ACCIDENT'. I had the Acorn Squash, which was delicately light - not heavy sausage herb-y... just think Martha Stewart or Victoria Magazine ... as delicious as it is lovely, visually. (But satisfying! Neither a peck-ish meal to leave you hungry nor over-stuffed.) My husband had the wagyu meatloaf and was very happy. My SIL had a charcuterie plate and a few sides. We also all shared the Brussel sprouts - NOT to be skipped. We all loved the festive bourbon drinks: we had Nosferatu and I believe my SIL had Van Helsing. We will make the trip to Burien more often. I should note that my Husband uses a wheelchair and although the front door is a bit bumpy, it IS doable with some counter-weight pulling chair in backwards - my husband is able to assist with wheeling. Wonderful, cozy neighborhood spot with welcoming staff. The menu rotates which I enjoy--it's nice to try new dishes occasionally in addition to my usual faves (LOVE the lamb burger!!). I've never had a bad meal here. My only note would be to ask about portion sizes on the meat-based dishes (short ribs, beef medallions, etc.) before ordering--sometimes the portions on these are quite small and if you are super hungry you might be disappointed. Just came in for coffee so my only thing I can base it off of is the unfriendly service from the man getting me coffee as if I was inconveniencing him and his lack of coffee taste and having no half and half. Drove up from Federal Way because our Normandy Park daughter gave us a gift certificate. Great recommendation. Arrived about 7PM on Tuesday and the place was just about full but we got a small table for 2 by the window. The atmosphere seemed warm and inviting. We ordered the Burrata appetizer on our daughter's recommendation and it was unique, 4 slices of toasted thick bread, some soft white cheese over greens drizzled with honey and Balsamic reduction. The house Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon were both excellent and at $8 a glass for a healthy pour, quite reasonable. We split a citrus salad and it was more than enough. I ordered the duck breast over mashed potatoes. The duck was cooked rare in a generous number of thin slices and was tender and delicious. I have eaten this in many places around the world and this was the best i have ever had. My wife's seafood stew had lots of clams and shrimp and a delicious sauce. Desert was the Brownie Sundae Delight that rivaled the "Brookie" served at a well known seafood restaurant on Ruston Way. Everything we saw that came out of the kitchen looked wonderful. Service was very responsive. Prices are mid to upper. We spent $138 before tax and tip including 4 glasses of wine. We will be back. read more

It'd been a year since I've been out for a good dinner... so long that I didn't know where to go anymore. So I looked up some local places and found one I hadn't heard of before. And they were open and allowed (50%) seating. Late on a Mother's Day, a lot of items were no longer available let, but the 3 most expensive things on the menu were: salmon, rib eye, and filet mignon. So that's what we got. Well, we prefixed it with Bacon Wrapped Dates and finished it off with an Affagoto. The bacon wrapped dates started us off, presented on a thick drizzle of balsamic reduction. The sweetness of the dates combined with it made it taste chocolaty. A+ My main was the salmon. I would have preferred more of a textured crust, but it was very tasty on a bed of freshly cooked veggies. A I got to stare at my son's rib eye which looked nearly perfect. He was generous enough to share some... their medium rare was perfect (though some might find it too red) and matched the perfect tenderness and charred exterior. A+ The filet mignon went quite well with its mushroom/onion accompaniment. Larger than most servings, it was a satisfying dish. Unfortunately, it was not as consistently cooked as the rib eye, and was an overcooked medium-rare, in comparison. B+ We finished off with a fine Affagoto dessert, towering with whipped cream and its dot of an espresso bean on top. A great finish to a very good meal. A We splurged on this meal, but it was certainly nice to have dinner outside the house. I've saved a lot on staying in, over the past year. We sat table and wanted to eat a nice dinner. A guy was a very nice to greeted us and asked some menus details. And ordered BBQ bacon wrapped meatloaf & chicken crepes. Both portions are small. BBQ Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf sauce was salty and hard to finished. Chicken Crepes look nice but very small meal and little pricey. Taste is okay. It will be better someone want to drink alcohol and eat here instead of dinner. read more

My partner and I were fortunate to revisit the spot where we had our first date. We were there just in time to be able to order off the breakfast and lunch menus. He ordered lunch, I ordered breakfast. As soon as I saw French Toast on the menu, I had to order it. I loooove french toast and will likely order it every time it is on the menu. I was extra excited about this french toast because it was cinnamon swirl brioche bread by Macrina Bakery. I knew I had to get it as soon as I read the description! The french toast was absolutely delicious! I poured the maple syrup on top and it was perfect. I was not too much of a fan of the fruit compote, so I did not put it on top but ate a little on its own. The french toast did not need the fruit as it was perfect with just the maple syrup. I loved this brunch. It was wonderful. I loved the company I had. I cannot wait to go back! Bonus: they also do catering! #Accessibility : 909 is generally accessible. Parking is limited and street parking. There are a few spots around that are accessible. The washrooms here are accessible with grab bars. There are no stairs. The chairs do not have arms. There is a mix of seating options between half booths, high tables and chairs, and low tables and chairs. The restaurant is tight in places. It can get noisy at night and be an issue. I cannot remember any issues with the lighting at night, but it has been a while since I was there at night. There is at least one vegan option and a few vegetarian options. I would think they are able to work with other dietary restrictions. read more

The food was made well but not worth the price with the careless wait staff. No substitutions to the menu items is also a minus. How hard is it to offer a salad instead of bread and potatoes. The 'kids' (now adults) took their mom and I out to Mother's Day dinner a day early to beat the crowds tomorrow. The staff is very friendly and greeted us right away after seating ourselves. At the recommendation of the kids we sampled the Burrata appetizer (2 servings), a wonderfully thick grilled bread served with smoked mozzarella, arugula, & a honey & balsamic topping it all. What a way to start a meal. For the main course their mom chose the flat iron steak, accompanying it with a red wine she really liked but I failed to get the name. She loved both. I ordered a medium cooked prime ribeye, washing it down with a Georgetown Manny's pale ale. The thick 14 oz ribeye was PERFECTLY cooked with seasonings that gave it a great flavor profile. I have no idea what they used, but the seasonings did a great job enhancing the taste. A delicious entree to say the least. Our daughter had the Sambuca Prawns with linguine and loved it. And our son also enjoyed the same ribeye as mine, but whined because I got the apparently larger and better looking cut. Too bad, so sad. But, I am sad to say, I totally forgot to take photos because 1) I was so hungry and 2) just as my steak arrived at the table a motion alarm at home hit my cell phone, which turned out to be a false alarm caused by movement outside that the sensor could 'see'. Ugh. Finally, and though we didn't think it could get any better, dessert was authentic, though contemporary looking, and very tasty Tiramisu and limoncello. I say authentic because my family and I lived in Naples, Italy for 3 years, becoming connoisseurs of both, not to mention Italian food in general. 909 Coffee & Wine is worth giving them a try. Basils maaaaaaaan! I accidentally stumbled into this establishment while hunting for a certain Fort George brew. After a nice chat with one of the staff, I got curious about the place and decided for a quick bite and drink. What a surprise find! The standard for customer service is really high here and seeing the many unique selection of alcohols is very impressive when comparing it to your average bar. They even had the Empress 1908 gin that is distilled in Canada! Buuuuuut unfortunately they absolutely butchered it using in a cocktail. The key feature of the Empress gin is the distinct, rich purple color and a lightly sweet, but delicate taste. They watered down the color with soda water to oblivion, drowned the taste with lemon syrup, serve it up with crushed brown basil leaves, and call it a goshdarn cocktail! They might as well have used well gin and it would have ended up the same! Alcohol aside, I got the rigatoni here and was delighted that it tasted delicious! The bite of the pasta was spot on and the sauce was great. It could use a little more seasoning and the basil leaves could have been better sorted to discard the brown leaves. Overall, I am impressed with the level of customer service and the taste of the food, but am left disappointed with the presentation of the meal and the level of skill in their cocktail. This is not a cheap place to dine but it is not at the level of fine dining. To maximize the value of your enjoyment here, steer clear of the cocktails and anything with basils. We always go here for our anniversary and can't stop talking about how lovely it was for the rest of the night. The atmosphere is casual and friendly. The food is first class, just delicious. My husband had the prime rib eye and I had the linguine, and both were wonderful. Cocktails were fantastic. I got dessert to go, the spiced pear pavlova, and it was heavenly. The waiter was so helpful and patient, above and beyond. I know this is laying it on thick but it was a five-star experience and we want to share that. read more
