My 2nd time going this year and it was just as special as the 1st! It's a great experience and pricing is perfect for what all each class includes. Book It!

The many scents that hit my nose as soon I opened the door hit me hard, but in a good way! I, at first, thought I was in a soap store, Candlefish is at the north end of Ponce City Market close to the parking lot. It's a nice, open, bright space, with welcoming and friendly employees. After I realized that it was multiple various candle scents that I was smelling at the same time, a smiling employee came to me, and told me to let her know if I needed any help and if she could help me find anything. I told her that I was just looking. After picking up a variety of candles, such as mimosa, pina colada, Bloody Mary, and others, and smelling each of them, the candles started smelling similar. Not that they actually did smell similar, it's just that the scents throughout the store were just overwhelming me. This was my queue to leave. I will most likely be back to take a closer look at what Candlefish has. The store smelled really nice.

One thing I found very amazing is the fact that they have candle workshops, where you can make your own candles. They have over 100 scents you can choose from. However, we were also informed that they would be closed on Monday, so we stayed in contact throughout the week to coordinate a pickup. Unfortunately, we've attempted to pick up our candles on three separate occasions, and each time the business was closed. I also reached out via email and never received a response. After multiple attempts with no communication and no way to retrieve the candles we paid to make, the experience became very frustrating. While the class itself was fun, not receiving the finished product completely changed my overall impression. It felt very unprofessional and, honestly, a bit scammy. I hope they improve their communication and ensure customers can actually receive the products they've paid for

Ehh, not the best, but it is definitely worth it and it was free. I was invited here for a real estate event. Don't know how I got on the list, but I'm not going to question a free experience in the A. This place is divided into two sections. One section for body scrubs and butters and the other for candles. We chose the candle experience. It was really fun! Very engaging and interactive. There was plenty of staff readily available to assist you with any questions you had. Regular price would have been $43.56 per person, but even then it would have been worth it. The whole experience lasted an hour or two if even. You'll have to forgive me, there was some alcohol involved in the process which made everything all the more lively. The owner is the sweetest! She made sure to connect with everyone. The candle aroma oils were expansive and you could quite literally create just about anything and everything you could think of, including any of the premade candles (available for purchase) on the walls. The best part? You get to name and keep your candle to take home. 10/10 ATL experience. Highly recommend.

I tried the custom sugar scrub-making class with my best friend, and we left with soft hands and full hearts. Every part of the experience was thoughtfully curated--from the scent options to the shimmer and self-care vibes. It's not just a class, it's an experience. Whether you're planning a girls' day, date night, or solo reset, this is the spot. And yes, they also offer body butter and candle-making classes (which I'm already planning to come back for). Bonus points for being Black-owned, woman-owned, and so clearly rooted in community and creativity. Atlanta needs more places like this!

Our class had about eight people and kicked off with a lighthearted icebreaker, which helped set a relaxed, social tone. You can also enjoy sparkling wine or sparkling cider during the experience, which was a nice touch. Our instructor clearly walked us through the candle-making process step by step, making it easy to follow even for beginners. One of the highlights is their scent wall where they offer 40+ fragrance options, so you can create a custom blend that truly fits your vibe. This is a great activity idea for a date night, bestie outing, team-building event, or girls' day out. They also sell premade candles, wax melts, and scent drops in-store and everything smells amazing. Highly recommend if you're looking for a fun, hands-on experience in the city.
