Great activity to do with a group of friends. Our instructor had the vibes right with an awesome playlist. It's BYOB which is totally fine by me. No one likes overpriced cheap drinks anyway. They have a great selection of scents that you can mix and match to really create your desired smells for both candle and room spray. Such a special experience! Celebrated my birthday a different way this year as being 9 months pregnant and exhausted, I refused to pass up on fun but needed something more relaxed (and hopefully something that allowed me to sit while doing so!) It's so funny because I told my bf a few days before that candle making would be cool (because I love candles), but that I worried if the smells would bother me... only to turn around and say a day later that I did, in fact, want to do candle making. LOL. Oops. So he made it happen! Crafted Creations is a Black woman-owned biz in Doraville, located in a busy shopping plaza. They offer a variety of classes over a few days throughout the week and I'm happy that he grabbed tickets in time for a 3pm class on my birthday. This class was different than some of the others that I saw, as it was a combo class that included a candle and a room spray for each participant for under $60. We arrived a few minutes early and waited outside for just a few after reading a sign on the door that asked guests to do so if we were early. Makes sense, as it's not a huge space and they seemed to be mindful of crowding. As soon as it turned 3pm, they welcomed us in with open arms. The space is super cute! There's a shiny gold photo backdrop at the front along with a table of candles on sale and a large display of candles, wax melts and room sprays from their own line of scents available. Check-in was a breeze as my partner gave his name and we were instructed to scan a QR code that led us to a waiver. After this, we were guided over to a table that already had all of the tools laid out for us and the other guests. I love communal events such as this as it encourages socializing with folks beyond those you came with and Crafted Creations does a great job of that. We were paired with another couple and a pair of friends, one who was also celebrating her birthday, truly a great group! On the table there were two lazy susans with a variety of scent oils as well as individual trays that had scales, measuring cups, and more. We got started a few minutes later than I had expected (due to the timing policy for guests) but I think they were waiting for a group that came in just a few minutes behind but it worked out great. Each step was super easy to understand, easily executed and fun to make happen. My boyfriend and the gentleman at our table were the only guys in the room and I'm sure that my bf was even surprised at how he enjoyed it lol (also, he now thinks he's a scientist so there's that LOL.) I can't even say how long the process took for both items because we were so focused and not looking at the time at all. My favorite part ended up being the scent-choosing part despite assuming that I'd be overwhelmed. I ended up choosing a clean linen, an amber of sort and I totally can't remember the other scent but as one who goes for a 'clean' smell vs. sweet or musky scents, I was grateful for the varieties. Once we finished our scentful science projects, we were told that as our candles cooled, there were a number of games we could play to pass the time as well as popping any bottles that we brought (it's BYOB!) We totally forgot to bring some sparkling cider but lucky me, the young ladies at our table were sweet enough to share theirs with me and the friend of the bday girl even allowed me to use her champagne glass. *tears* SO SWEET. Community is everything. We played 2 or 3 rounds of uno that were sooo fun, the time passed so swiftly, when they announced that we were good to pick up our candles, we were all still laughing and in the midst of our table fun. Truly a phenomenal experience to celebrate my birthday and another great opportunity to support a Black and woman-owned business - I'll be back! read more

I attended a "Wine down Wednesday" at Crafted Creations and was veryyyyyy impressed by the entire experience. For starters, the vibe definitely depends on the people you come with or the people that book for the same session. I went alone and the crowd was a little older... they gave aunties vibes but we definitely had a good time! Upon entry you get your apron and drink tickets which are included in your ticket purchase. They have an in-house bartender and several drink options. There was also a dj who kept the tunes going. The experience it self was very laid back. We were given direction periodically but there was also plenty of room for comfortable conversation without competing with music or too much direction. After we made our candles we played games, danced, took pictures and did a little karaoke until our candles were dry. (about 30 mins) All in all, I definitely recommend this experience and oh, I almost forgot you can add on hookah if you'd like to your ticket! Let me start off with I was 5 minutes tardy as the gps had us turned around. When we arrived the young ladies were not inviting and act like they were doing a chore instead of providing an experience. During the entire experience. While the candles were drying they sat at the bar talking amongst themselves and on their phones. It was a total of 4 people in my candle making session. So, we didn't really need a lot. I would not recommend a mother daughter outing as this was what my table was. 2 moms & 2 daughters. I guess we needed to come on a Wednesday or a Saturday with the DJ & drinks, to have a nice time??? The candle I made was sub par..period it did not burn well and the total experience was not good. And the bathroom was dirty! I'm not posting any pictures that's how disappointed I was. Throughly enjoyed my afternoon at Crafted Creations candle store. Signed up for the BYOB candle making session on a weekday afternoon. I could smell the amazing scents as I approached the shop located on the upper level of the plaza. The owner of the store was our instructor and had us pick out our scents prior to beginning our session (creativity was encouraged). The instructions were informative and very easy to follow. We went to lunch nearby while waiting the two hours needed for our candles to cool. The shop had a nice stock of pre made candles and accessories to purchase as well. We will definitely return for more candle making fun in the future. read more
