I called triple a and was on hold for extraordinarily long and put through some god awful prompt with an english accent. When I finally got a live person on the line she wasn't much better than the prompt telling me my wait time was going to be 70 minutes as well as being extremely difficult and rude! But then Jose Salazar from Ellison's Tow showed up and turned the entire experience around. You're already stressed out because your car just broke down and it's great to have a courteous and professional technician show up within 20-30 minutes of the allotted time and soothe the situation. Yesterday could have been a nightmare with my car as it lost power in the peak of traffic on the ElCamino in Palo Alto. I was ready to tell the driver before meeting him that I would pay him extra to take the vehicle on the flatbed and push it off the Golden Gate bridge :) The Volvo is becoming problematic lately and without warning. Anyway, this very nice guy pulls up with a great smile,and as if to read my mind, stated: "this is all going to be okay". And, of course it was. His calming manner reassured me that it happens to all makes and models of cars and that most things are fixable. I think Ellison's Towing has a strict selection process in their hiring of employees. Per the "supervisor" payment up front is required prior to towing. They won't tow through Aaa if registration is expired but will do it gladly if you pay cash up front. Not sure on towing company ethics but just seems a bit strange. Went with another local company who was willing to work with me, was much cheaper, and got a good laugh from my fiasco. read more

The folks from Ellison's Towing are AWESOME! I call AAA as I had a flat tire and needed it to be swapped out with my "Doughnut" and to fill the Flat Tire so that I could go get it repaired. What was amazing is that it took them less than 15 minutes to arrive at the location and to start doing the job. What was even better was that (CJ, the person that was doing the work) was super friendly; professional and explained all the options that I had in terms of what to do next. CJ went OUT OF HIS WAY to give me GREAT ADVICE as to what to do next and WHY That would benefit me. He even recommended a location that could get the Job Done and ended up saving nearly ~ $500 dollars as I was able to fix the Tire at no cost and thus avoiding to buy 4 NEW TIRES for my car -- There really was a need for only two!! Had a battery replaced on site by Casey at Ellison's... Took about 15 minutes to install AAA-approved battery and another 10 to find a nut he misplaced. A little taken back and pressured when he asked if I wanted to give him a tip for doing something he is paid for, but when asked what was customary, he said $10 which was OK even though I still felt awkward at being asked. (I worked for 35 years and never asked for or received tips.) Later when looking at the bill I realized that he also charged me $7 to lubricate the battery terminals, which I thought was pretty cheap on his or the company's part. Both these policies left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

just had AAA come out - turned out dead battery -- technician Casey Torres was promt and not only handled the battery but checked all the tires for me and found a problem with a cap!!! no one in auto maintenance had ever figured that out! imagine they are super busy with covid and people not driving but they were great, also totally covid careful even had me use my own pen to write a check read more

Hans Werner from Ellison's Towing is awesome! His priority in keeping me safe while fixing my flat tire on the side of a busy highway gave me a very comforting feeling. My spare tire was in my trunk. He went above and beyond in getting the many random items out of my trunk so I wouldn't have to exit my car and walk on the side of the highway to do it. About to head home after work and i noticed i had a flat tire. Phoned my insurance and they sent Ellison's. The estimated time was 90 mins, but Tevita Lasukau wasn't going to leave a young lady waiting that long at night. Within 20 mins he arrived and was super friendly as soon as he got out to greet me. He checked my tire to see if there was a slow leak and was able to drive it home, sadly that was not the case and the spare had to be put on. He worked quickly, provided some friendly chit chat and made sure my tire was secure and safe to drive on. Man oh man. If it wasn't for Ellison's Towing, I would of spent the night in my car on top of Stanford Shopping Center after work. I was glad that I got phone call from them as I waited along with my father in his car. We were called by CJ Angel after calling AAA. He said we have to wait at least 30 minutes but he actually arrived WAY faster than we thought. CJ got my battery powering up and told me that my battery is due for a change. Daniel H was my tow specialist. When he first phoned me to inform me how long I would wait for him to show up, he asked me to walk him through what happened before my car gave out. He appeared confident and knowledgable, and I could tell he even tried to be comforting and encouraging, as he told me not to worry and that someone will help me out soon. When he arrived, he was professional, kind, polite and respectful. He even shared how he got into the towing business, and I admire people who are passionate about what they do, and Daniel H definitely was one of these extraordinary people. I felt very fortunate to have had his help. I had a pleasant and positive experience during what could have been frustrating, scary, or bothersome. Another great experience with Ellisons via AAA roadside assistance. This week I left my lights on at the office due to the rain, and came out to a dead battery. Even though I thought it would take hours to get help with the storms, Tim Mattson from Ellisons was at my car within 30 minutes, and called me beforehand to give me his ETA. Within 5 minutes he jumped my car and gave me a report of battery health and how long to run the car to keep the charge. Love having this service and love Ellisons. read more
