Started with a pair of pants. New pants first time worn,…read morego to restaurant and drip a bit of sauce on the pant leg. I chose not to wash them because I wanted to maintain the darker navy--blue color instead of washing them and washing out part of the color. I chose to take them to the neighborhood Dry Cleaners - Westmoreland (support local business). Customer is always right? I showed the owner the stain she said they would try to get it out. She said that when people wash their clothes and can't get the stain out, it makes it harder for them to remove it. I told her I had not washed them and they were brand new pants. She said she could tell they had been washed and ironed. Oh boy. I went to pick them up two weeks later paid my bill and took them home. The stain was still there, and did not look like they had treated them in any way. Took them back same day. The owner said they tried to get the stain out but with no luck. She told me they would try again with no charge. Don't argue with the customer. I went to pick them up and the stain was as if all they did was re-press the pants. I pointed this out and she told me that old pants were always hard to clean. I told her the pants were new. She told me she could tell they were old and had been washed several times. (This was not going well). "That will be $14" "No that won't" "Yes, we tried to clean them and the stain would not come out" "You told me you would try to clean them again with no charge" "We did. If they had come out clean we would not have charged you. They did not come out clean so you owe us $14" I was having difficulty following her logic. I pushed back. "I will not pay when you told me there would be no charge." I could see the wheels turning in her head as she weighed the outcome of her next words.... "Maybe you should try using a napkin instead of wiping your hands on your pants" as she motioned wiping hands on lap. No charge. Oh boy, any bets on my returning to this cleaners? I think I will take the trip to Tie's Cleaners on Sandy next time I need to use a dry cleaner. Next day service and no lip. Oh, and I threw the pants in the wash and guess what, the stain came out!! Oh boy.

Scolded us on our timing taking the comforter in because it takes a long time to dry and we waited until it was cooling down outside. We told her we weren't in any hurry at all, but she continued scolding us. She told us it would take a while, didn't give us a pick up date or call us when it was ready, and charged an outrageous amount to launder (not dry clean). We paid almost as much as the comforter cost. We also had two clothing items to dry clean and the cost was very high. She was rude again when we picked up. Won't go back.

Do not take your clothes here if you want them and you treated with respect…read more Have been taking my clothes to them for sometime for dry cleaning, where they have done an adequate but not exceptional job , but the last time a coat they cleaned came back with a rip in it that looks very much like a blade slash. This is an impeccable vintage piece that has sentimental meaning, and when I took the coat back into show them the rip and ask them to compensate me for it or have it repaired, I was told by the owner that she was sure they didn't do it, and she dismissed me immediately out of hand. Not a, "we will look into it", just an immediate dismissal, and the employee at the cash register was left to tell me that they would probably get back to me " within the week." Absolutely, terrible experience, terrible customer service, and clearly questionable ethics on the part of the owners. Not looking forward to taking them to Small Claims Court, but that's probably what is going to need to be done.

When I went in to pick up the quilt, I mentioned the code and asked Five Star to honor the discount or, since I had pre-paid, provide the discount on future services. Employee Sequoia would not consider it. I expressed my disappointment but she seemed uninterested. I appreciate the quality of dry cleaning but am surprised and disappointed by Five Star Cleaners lack of customer service.

One wool sweater with a split shoulder seam that needed mending and dry-cleaning. Took it in on a Tuesday and they said it'd be ready on Friday. I went back on the following Tuesday and the older gentleman working the counter (had previous bad experiences with him) couldn't understand me - apparently had extremely limited English skills with no one else available to interpret. He wandered around the shop confused for about 25 minutes trying to find my order and completely failed to do. I ultimately had to leave (had to get back to work). I then made another trip back before closing when, thankfully, there was a different person at the counter who, with exactly the same information I gave the older gentleman, brought out my order in 90 seconds. The second clerk explained that the old gentleman was his uncle, who on top of not understanding English, is hard of hearing - but they can't persuade him to retire. I understand that these businesses are often family operations, but that's not really my problem. Finding your customers' orders is the most basic of all basic customer service functions and you can't have someone interacting with the public who's unable to perform the basic, basic services. There are other drycleaners in the neighborhood and I'll be giving them a try. They literally can't be any worse.

When I showed up to pick up my things, he had closed early and gone home. I will now be leaving for work without my clothes and will never return to this dry cleaner again.
