I've been taking my cleaning and minor alterations such as jean hems here for years without incident. Usually, if I call early and ask I can have a big project such as the comforter for my bed back the same day, they will accommodate me which I really appreciate. Recently, I bought in 3 white jackets all badly stained and a pair of jeans to be hemmed. I had them back the following day for around $30.00. These guys are Great , so reliable & consistent. Same day service if you get your stuff in by 8 or 8:30am. They have been cleaning my Uniform(s) for about 25 yrs now - they've never missed a beat. No lost clothes , always ready for pick up when promised. Fair prices and they can Launder or Dry Clean Anything , from silks ties to Sleeping bags and Down Comforters , everything is 'No Problem' with amazing turn around times (again , if you get your stuff in early , same day - done usually by 3pm. Night Drop Door too so you can come by after hours , put your clothes in a bag, include note with requested services, put down your phone number for any questions and just come back after 3pm that same day ( Mon. thru Fri) and they will be waiting for you. Let's get down to it. This place sucks. Nice folks, service is okay. However when your suits after one day of wear in an office building look like my photos, I'm sorry. I need my suits to be cleaned. They suggested it was sweat. There's no way. I sit at a desk. Then they said it was restaurant stains. I work in an office. When I check my suits they look fine. Then one day after, I have all these stains. This is leftover dry cleaning fluid or soap or something. They insist however they are doing nothing wrong. I can't have my suits looking this way. I am so disappointed because a friend recommended this place and I can't say anything good about them other than that they had my garments ready when they said they would. They did not get my garments clean, even when I pointed out exactly what I was concerned about. I actually came home and was able to clean the jacket label myself. They also failed to mention a hole that I had missed when I took the jacket in. They are not expensive, so that is a good thing, but if they don't do the job, they shouldn't be expensive. read more

I read that this place was not so good, but convenience factor won over me as this place is just 2 min walking distance from my home. Learned my lesson the hard way. Stains from suit or pants were not removed and discoloration appeared in several places on pants. Looks like bleach drops. Now the stains are locked in and even harder to remove from suit because they are ironed-in. Super disappointed and sad :( read more

I've never felt like such a number. The people who work the desk are rude and change every time I go in. The owner is nice because he has to be. They fixed a hole in my pocket with an iron on parch. I had looked for a good, quick, respectful dry cleaner for many years before landing on Levine's @ NW 21st & Burnside. I've lived in NW, SE, SW, NE and after finding Levine's I have traveled across town many times to take my expensive stuff there. I've had only 1 issue where my shirt was cut and the owner paid me for what I paid for the shirt and since then, I've been an even more loyal customer. It's extremely hard to find a cleaner that won't ruin your clothes. I take my dress shirts, dress pants, suits and ties there and I trust them as much as I trust the dry-cleaning process. Remember those chemicals are harsh and your clothes will deteriorate after many applications. Be warned about the dry-cleaning process but be trustful of this Levine's shop. I can't comment about any other Levine's as I've not been. I'd give 5 stars but I don't do that often and dry-cleaning is not optimal so I stick with 4 (4.87) because of the sliced shirt.....p.s. I got another shirt just like the one I lost. read more

I read these reviews before taking my cleanig and unfortunately didnt listen to the advise I read on Yelp becasue I thought a place that's been in business for as long as they have should be doing something right. I was sooo wrong! They cleaned my wedding dress and I was dissapointed. I wouldnt trust them with anything expensive or that you care much about. I'm not sure how they stay in business with the type of service I received. They qouted me a price before I committed and it ended up being a much different cost in the end. Also the inside of the dress was twisted into a big knot and Im not sure I couldnt gotten a better job by doing it myself. I have a hard time with the negative reviews about this establishment. This is a dry cleaners folks. It's not your personal housekeeper and tailor. I've been coming here for years. They do a great job on my shirts and pants at a very, very reasonable price, especially for downtown. The staff here are friendly. If you have your clothes in by 9 AM they typically will have them finished by the end of the day if requested. Otherwise, they'll be ready for you the next day. Highly recommend this place. You'll be hard-pressed to find another GOOD dry cleaning business in downtown for such a reasonable price. read more

Been going here for a couple of years with no problems. Been happy till today. This time I got my jet black jeans stitched on the lower legging and gave specific instructions to not wash the jeans because they will easily fade if you don't follow the special washing instructions. Come and pick them up to check the stitching and of course they washed them because of the noticeable fading marks and smell of a freshly laundered and pressed pair of jeans. I told the owner to smell them and he gave me the excuse that he has a cold and was sick. Owner's reaction was total lack of remorse or that they weren't laundered. I get it...mistakes happen. My instructions got lost in translation. It was the owner's response of not taking any responsibility or at least compensating me in any way. He just led me out the door. Really rude! read more

Fast and cheep. Much cheaper then other dry cleaners ive been to. Most of the time i'll drop off 6-8 shirts, and they'll have it ready by the end of the next day. I also had a few shirts "boxed". $.75 more, but they were handed over neatly folded with collar protectors,, folded over a cardboard plank, and wrapped in plastic.. I would give less stars if I knew how to. This store has the worst customer service I have ever seen, and they severely damaged my property. I brought in a formal dress I wore as the maid of honor at my best friend's wedding. There were some stains and two small rips on the edge of the dress (from my heels) when I brought it in to levine's on Columbia. I inspected the item when I returned to work (my mistake for not doing it there), and there were additional large rips along the top of the dress, as well as many stains still on the garment. I understand sometimes stains will not come out, however new rips to my garment were very upsetting. I spoke with the owner personally around 930 am, and he was by far the rudest person I have ever spoken with. I wanted to know how they normally handled this kind of issue and what the procedure was, however he kept repeating that he could not give me any information without looking at the garment, despite me having the invoice and id numbers. I kept trying to explain that I wanted to wear the dress to an upcoming event and wanted to know how long this process would take, but he seemed to be missing my point. I went to their main location after work to show him the garment and speak with him in person. He was worse in person than over the phone. He blamed the rips on the cleaning process and stated that they were my fault because I got the stains on the garment in the first place. He said that the rips "were not that big a deal" and that he could fix them for me. I told him that after leaving my garment with them and them damaging it, I did not feel comfortable with that. I asked if he would compensate me for getting it fixed at a tailor, and he responded by walking away and saying no way. I asked if he was seriously walking away in the middle of our conversation, and he said yes. He sat down at his sewing machine and refused to discuss the matter any further. They do a great job on my shirts. At a great cost. Super friendly and accommodating. My only slight of them is they cost a little more than others for sewing patches. But one major repair I had on my Jiu Jitsu gi they did far better than I would have asked for. My gi gets pulled on throughout training and repair has more than held its own. read more

It's not very often that you come into a business for the first time and they completely go over the top to help you out. They knew I was in a hurry and I actually pressed my pants knowing I had an event coming up in a couple hours. He informed me that they have to get it in by 10 AM to honor their two hour window but he simply said I'll get you taken care of. It's incredibly refreshing to have a business go up and above and beyond like this. These are the nicest people. Definitely the worst customer service I've received in a long time. I wouldn't recommend going here if anything just to not have rude and patronizing service for even simple repairs, being treated as if I'd never been to a dry cleaner before (going over and over again that something that needed a new seam up the back would obviously become smaller). To top it all off, instead of saying he didn't want to clean a $500 leather jacket, he told me it was impossible to clean (which even a quick google search proved to not be at all true, as I've found 5 different ways to clean it myself already and had already started to do that before deciding it was too time intensive and would just get it dry cleaned). Instead of letting me be and just taking care of my other alterations he yelled after me offering to THROW IT AWAY for me, as if he was affording me a service, especially after I had already expressed my distaste that he would so rudely suggest I throw away a designer item that was a gift and easily the most expensive thing I've ever owned without another thought. I can only imagine that he either thought he could salvage parts of the leather that weren't apparently irredeemable To him, but that's just conjecture. Either way, I've taken my business elsewhere and I suggest you do too. The extra few dollars at another cleaner in the area is well worth it to not be treated like your items that are expensive enough to be dry cleaned are disposable and patronize you over the most basic of repairs. read more

This place is terrible. They ruined my Filson wool jacket. They made heat patterns by using too hot of press for wool. The owner is an idiot and denied it. He got irate and yelled at me when I called him out on it. He knew he had ruined it, yet he flat out denied it. I will never ever go back. read more

Horrible. I took in a bunch of clothes and was really sorry that I did. None of the stains were removed, not even one. Plus, when I picked everything up, there was no mention of the fact that they couldn't remove the stains or that they even attempted. I brought in 3 pairs of designer jeans that they decided to put a crease down the center of. Have you ever seen a person wearing a pair of $300 jeans with a trouser crease? I sure haven't. So now I have to pay another dry cleaner to actually do what I had paid for the first time. I have a bunch of dirty looking pressed clothes that I now have to pay twice as much for to be cleaned. That's just ridiculous. I've been taking my clothes to the cleaners for over 15 years now, so I know this is not the way it's supposed to be. I threw away $100 in dry cleaning and wasted my time here. I do not recommend this place. read more

Items have come back with spots on multiple occasions...and they weren't there when dropped off. Not even noted with a "We're sorry but we couldn't get the spot out..." card. Very poor quality control in the last six months. I've lost one of my favorite shirts thanks to Levine's. read more

They did a beautiful job of removing red wine from an ivory silk suit. The suit had first been cleaned by Bee's who made the stain look worse. Every time I have had evening and silk dresses cleaned they took special care to protect buttons, beaded pearls and lace. We have been using Levine's for at least 10 years. Clothes are always ready when due and well packaged for taking home. We ask for very light starch on shirts. They are always perfect. I am very surprised by the complaints listed here. Compared to other cleaners we have tried, they are amazing. read more

I asked them repeatedly not to starch my shirts. Each time they came back the collars were stiff as a board. After 3 times I gave up. They are fast and dependable as long as you don't have any special requests like no starch. read more
