Hill Country Plumbing in Wimberley TX is a great family-owned business and its owner, Colie Curry, whom I've used with great success in the past, is a certified Rinnai Ace Pro, which is the highest Rinnai rating you can get and Colie is the only RAP available in the Austin area. Needless to say, I called him out to assess our Rinnai system issues and to make a long story short, he along with his brother, father and 2 sons came out and completely reengineered/replaced the entire system, in a single day no less, and it has been working flawlessly ever since! He took dozens of pictures explained everything in detail to us and even gave us tips for maintaining our system in a better condition and preventing future problems. I am 100% happy with this visit. Brendon explained everything to the point where we felt comfortable with what he found and what he repaired and we're ready to move forward by handling some of the maintenance on our own. I called and they quoted a service call price. I thought it was reasonable so they dispatched a…read morerepair tech quickly. He was clean and courteous. No problem there. One star for that. He inspected the wiring to the disposal and removed it. Showed me the issue and said the charge was 241.00 which did not include a replacement. Do I pay that and then go buy a disposal and hire someone else to install it or just have them complete the job. I had a 1/3 HP and he did not have it on the truck. Had to go get one. He brought back a 1/4 HP and told me the bigger one would cost approximately 300 more. It came out to over 600.00 when it was all said and done. I use to have a home appliance warranty policy for years and there was an issue every time I used them which was seldom so I cancelled them. Goes to say I don't have a lot of experience hiring for these issues but obviously they have figured out how to make money by limiting your options. All I can say is beware of these companies and the way they handle their service charges. I will not recommend this company to anyone unless they have extra money to throw away.
