50 Yard Rifle Range Rules. No rapid fire, no more than 10 rounds in magazine, no pistol caliber rifles, no standing or prone.

Nice outdoor range when weather cooperates. Range fee is higher than others, but has no time limit like others.

Great range offering pistol, rifle, archery, skeet. We did the first six skeet stations. They rent Benelli and we went with the Benelli over and under 12g for $20 rental. Nice shotgun for a rental. With shells and skeet about $100 outing with my son. Lots of fun.

Shooting here is fun. I like the reactive steel targets. The staff are pretty hands off which I like. When you first enter, if its your first time, you have to go to the building in the back next to the american flag/flag pole. Thats where you check in, get a wrist band, and pay for what you want. I went today, it was empty, possibly because it was almost 100degrees but it was a lot of fun

Very beginner friendly, amazing staff especially Jonathon, he gave my friends and I tips and pointers whilst also walking us through the steps of basic weapons handling. Enjoyable experience and would recommend for anyone getting into shooting.

A great complex for rifle, handgun, and shotgun shooting. The only problem for me is that it is a bit of a drive from Frisco. The range marshals are helpful and will provide safety and shooting tips. They provide free handgun lessons on Saturday and Sunday as well, and they have both 50 yard and 100 yard rifle ranges. There are two separate facilities; a rifle/hand gun range, and a shotgun range. Each has its own parking area. We went to the shotgun range and got on in no time. On busy days, there may be a wait but it seems to go fast. We had a group of seven so they gave us a nice large size hut for trap shooting. They give you a device to launch the clay pigeons and keep track of how many you've used. We proceeded to shoot, and the range Marshall came up and gave instructions to the novices in the group without even having to ask! The team there is friendly and very helpful and safety is emphasized. You can also select skeet ranges or sporting clay courses. I have not tried the sporting clay, but it looks fun. I usually buy the 10 round discount card since you get a better price so keep that in mind if you come out here regularly. The rifle range is just as nice, so I will probably try that out next time I'm out here again.

My wife trying out her new shotgun on the skeet course. What a beautiful place to go shooting.

Ask the Community - Elm Fork Shooting Sports

I would like to know what I need to go and shoot my personal gun?

All you need is your gun and to pay the fee. They will issue you a target and you should be good to go.

Can you buy shotgun ammo there?

    yes. it is reasonable priced.

    How much are gun rentals?

On shotguns - $15 for the semi-auto Beretta A400's, and $20 foe the O/U, you can buy their shells or bring your own. Not sure on the other side (pistol/rifle), but I believe you have to buy their ammo if renting a gun. Probably says on the website.

Is rapid fire allowed? Do they have a range in which dynamic firing (moving and shooting) is allowed? I ask, because these are the only things I care about in an outdoor range. Otherwise, I could go anywhere down the street from where I live.

We only do skeet and trap shooting so I have no idea. My suspicion is that the answer is "no" but if you call the associates will tell you - everyone is very friendly.

Overall, the facility is great. The only issue I've ever had is with the employee monitors in the shooting lanes. They hover, and it gets pretty distracting. If you unknowingly break one of the rules (they're a lot of them and they aren't posted) they descend on you and brusquely correct the error. These aren't mean people - they're just doing their job, and it's an important one. However, there's got to be a better way to ensure a safe shooting environment. I'm really conscientious about obeying the range rules, but I can't get through a clip without at least one of these rather harsh admonitions. Again, the place is solid... but there should be a more constructive way to help people that want to follow the rules. The distraction and awkwardness of the constant interruptions affect the experience.

Following that I signed up for 1 on 1 training with John. I got sick a couple days before & tried to reschedule. The app on the website didnt have that functionality so I called. They couldnt figure it out either but required me to pay 50% anyway. Their app doesnt work so I was forced to pay $50 for a lesson where I would likely get the instructor sick. Rather than reschedule, I will just cancel and find another range. disappointed!

I grabbed this class on a Groupon for a great rate and when I found out it was 10 hours of class I was dreading it, but it was actually so much fun. Unlike most CHL classes that I've heard about the instructor (Mark Payne) actually broke up the important facts and information that you really need to know with interesting stories, videos and clips to help demonstrate what he was talking about and help us all understand the importance of the information he was covering more quickly. Since I went to one of the all women's classes he came prepared with a large number of handguns that everyone could come up to the front and pick up to see how they feel. This was important because most of us had not purchased a gun yet (wanting to know how to use it first) and he took time to talk to each of us about what we might look for in a gun. He also brought fake bullets and allowed us all to practice loading a clip throughout the class so that by the end of the day when we went to take the firing range test we felt confident in loading the clip on our own. I can't say enough how FAST the day flew by, it's what we were all saying on every break and the information was so interesting and Mark was so funny (while still getting across how important it is) that it was very enjoyable. The firing range test was a little nerve-wracking but Mark and his family (who run the company together) are very good at helping you become comfortable and confident, even when firing for the first time! I know I would not have done as well without his help, and I definitely wouldn't have my CHL! If you're looking for a class, GO HERE, you won't regret it!
